I tried to remain sensible and reasonable with my own critique when I could still discuss with her, what everybody else is doing is out of my control, so I can't really say.
Speaking of which, I actually had a really long and serious discussion with a friend of mine last night regarding this,, about the critics and the people they're criticizing - from what we concluded, some critics need to drop a douchebag attitude and be less hostile towards the artists they're criticizing so that the critique will have a better effect, and how some artists, while some may not be ready for criticism just yet (I.E Doing art and such just for fun), have to be prepared for the day they DO start receiving serious critiques when they start to seriously invest in being a proper artist. In other words, both sides in this case would have to learn a lesson.
It was a really interesting conversation.

I've always tried to remain kind and sensible with my own critiques, though I'm not afraid to point out everything I would consider requiring improvement upon within an artpiece.
It irked me that DA User replied to me in such a negative way, but, again concluded from the conversation I mentioned before, she still needs a few years or so to properly understand criticism and the people who criticize.
And still, being rude with your critiques is never a good idea (Nevermind calling her [I]mentally retarded, seriously.[/I])
