I think it's perfectly legitimate to make a documentary about such an odd phenomenon, provided whoever makes it isn't completely oblivious to how terribly detramental certain aspects are. In that one we showed in this thread earlier, they opened their video with several minutes of a generic neckbeard singing a song quietly, off-key and out of breath, then later showing how he met the guy- red in the face from [del]headbanging[/del] flailing around in a little mosh crowd for a random pony metal band

Reminds me of some video I saw of an interview with one of the voice actors at a con, she seemed convinced the entire fandom was devoted to love and friendship and appeard to be completely oblivious to all the porn.
