Then you compare the attempts at humor.

Delicately dissected humor usually isn't funny.
It's like Andrew uses his DA as a blog, and then draws comic based on his unfunny situation he had today.
It wouldn't be so bad if he just used the comics AS the blog. Instead of making them based on the unfunny situation that is the subject of his blog.

I like the writing and everything really. Just that it doesn't really work out... Since he just stopped a guy from stealing, like, big fucking whoop. And omg, he cut his finger, he had to bleed for the situation, to save 4 lousy DVD's.
Everything really worked until the last panel that just went stupidly emo on it's ass. How to explain it to his girlfriend? Tell her you had to chase a robber and cut your finger whilst grabbing back the stolen goods? Why don't you feel like a hero? Because you aren't a hero because you stopped a shoplifting. It's just... stupid.
I actually really like his style there.
