I'm not sure who's stupider, the Gateway Agent (who wasn't even a human technician) or the OP for thinking he can willy-nilly switch to an i7.
I decided to start form scratch, but for future reference, care to go into detail on how to switch to an i7?
Aren't those things serious powerhogs? I presume they get pretty hot as well. You'd have to check your PSU and if the case is cool enough.
Eww Gateway.
I have a Gateway setup I bought off of Newegg for 850 bucks and it came with a 23" LCD. I never had a single issue with it, so I'm starting to think that people who give it bad rep somehow fucked it up themselves and just want to point fingers. Either that or I'm lucky. [editline]11:28PM[/editline]
People who buy gateway shit don't swap their own CPU, and if they were capable of doing a task that "hard", they can google the motherboard and check.
BTW, don't stereotype me to this. I built my last computer from the ground up, this was just a good deal pre-built and has a lot of power, plus I needed the new monitor. My last LCD just quit working and I was getting eye cancers from my old CRT.
Oh gawd. I cried, What the fuck is up with tech support lately
It looked automated...
Then why all the spelling mistakes?

I have a Gateway. It's a computer.
You realize that was a bot and not an agent right?
Apparentely 7 = Windows 7. Good job bot. I actually hope that was a bot. If not...
Gateway = Acer
Doesn't Kirkland have to do with Costco?
Yeah and their products are damn good!
