Photography turning into a "fad"? - General

Oh god the "BndW picz r soooooooooo much deeper <33333333333333333333333333" people piss me of so much, black and white has its uses, but its become so overused, same with fisheyes, they only really should be used for 90s style skate photos.

unfortunately yes it is, in Finland every other 14 years old has a fucking Canon or Nikon, and they don't even take good photos. they use the cameras to take some dumb friend photo album stuff or whatever.

My Ex's Ex was in a band and for the cover art shit for an album it was basically him topless, sat down leaning against a wall with a light over him and it was edited black and white with high contrast and then shopped some shit writing on his arm. There's a difference between taking a photo, and capturing the beauty of the image, taking in the beautiful landscape and taking a photo of it in a way that conveys a meaning. It's much more powerful than just HERP A DERP CONTRAST + GRAYSCALE = HAPPY COOL FUN TIEM.

Golden rule- what you put in (ie. how much you pay) is what you get out (performance). Of course- using good equipment won't automatically make you a good photographer but will give you the tools to become one.
