Hmm. This is kind of a tough question. By my definition of art, it is something that takes time and practice to create and can be appreciated for what it is. However, My immediate reaction would have to be no, because i think of art as something that you can hold and touch, or maybe read (if it is a poem). Don't get me wrong though, i love video games with a burning passion.

What about music? You can't touch that, yet it's one of the most prestigious art forms out there.

I agree, video games are just as much art as music or books. Games are made up of (usually) music, graphics, and a story. I believe video games are art.
Yes, video games are art. If books can be considered art, so can games.
