I can explain it. Both of these places are Family Owned Bakeries and I can say from the Granny C's side, we have put our blood, sweat, and tears into it. You become very emotionally vested . The Bakery becomes like a family member. I am positive that it is the exact same thing with Boosalis. I mean you are always fighting the chain stores that do crap like freeze product and just use junk bucket icing (I have no doubt that Boosalis is a good bakery and DOES NOT do this either). Emotions sometimes get the best of you. It is all good and there are no hard feelings here.

This is confusing. Both parties seem to make good points, but then occasionally turn around and make an ass of themselves. We've never been to either bakery, which means we can only take either of your word on how good your bakeries are.

I don't know how I feel about this competition and rivalry anymore. Blacksam has been more involved with the community, but now he seems to be completely intruding on tina the baker and is very unsportsman-like. But Tina the baker doesn't really seem to care about us other than making us a cake.

Yeah, I agree. I shouldn't have posted in Fast Threads. I just didn't want people to say," There is already a thread like this." I didn't know how mods would take it either.
It's really about getting the word out to people - who we are and what we do. Even if I just got some of you to follow us on facebook, visit our site, or say "Damn Sam, this stuff looks fantastic." I'd feel satisfied.

The amount of love you guys generate for my defense is phenomenal, you guys have pushed us far for two years and I'm more than grateful.

You are telling the truth Sam. It makes a big difference with getting people in. Remember the top 3 get listed in the paper in Jan. The people really hit the list of the places in the paper.
Hey Sam, It is pretty funny that Dorothy Lane Market with their factory made frozen, heat up and serve Killer Brownies that everybody loves only have 53 votes.
Was going to stop by today, but ended up just being lazy and moping about instead. Wish I knew where my camera was though (just moved).

They've been hit pretty hard, at least at the centerville location ever since that new kroger's marketplace opened up. I don't blame em, it's pretty nice in there. Doesn't help DLM that Kroger's bakery department is just as "good" if not better than DLM's for a fraction of the cost. But I wouldn't say it has the same weight that a real bakery would.
Dorothy Lane is an icon in the community at least. I mean all contests aside, they know how to keep people happy and coming back.
