Mitt Romney's the only sane one. He wins by default.
"Corporations are people..." Yeah, totes
Full opening of the borders is where I was turned off.
Care to explain?
I heard Glaber was running for office. Are we going to see him up there?
I heard Glaber was running for office. Are we going to see him up there?
Um... Cain 2012
Tax the poor ten times more and cut taxes for the rich while raising food prices?
Uhh, what?
He's referring to the 9-9-9 plan. Most certainly would just lower a lot of the richs' taxes and just raise it for the poor. The only thing I seem to like from it is that would it be a clean slate, hopefully with no loopholes.
I figured, but his comprehension of it is absolutely mental. Hence my question.. Uhh, what? 9-9-9 is meant to remove ALL taxes, except: Business Flat Tax – 9% Gross income less all investments, all purchases from other businesses and all dividends paid to shareholders. Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for payroll employed in the zone. Individual Flat Tax – 9%. Gross income less charitable deductions. Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for those living and/or working in the zone. National Sales Tax – 9%. This gets the Fair Tax off the sidelines and into the game. Nikota's statement upstairs there is completely off. By eliminating ALL taxes, costs of production and operation are lowered considerably. YES the national sales tax will raise things a little, but the money saved from lowering everything else will be far more than the tiny bit back up you'd be paying. Additionally, a global sales tax will tax EVERY new purchase made by anyone in the united states. That means that every time a store sells something, there is a 9% tax on it. This means that the vast number of people here either touring around or staying illegally will now be taxed, giving a substantial boost to tax revenue. As it stands, top earners are the target for new tax increases, but the U.S. tax system is already highly progressive. The top 1 percent of income earners paid 38 percent of all federal income taxes in 2008, while the bottom 50 percent paid only 3 percent. Forty-nine percent of U.S. households paid no federal income tax at all. Taking that data and then looking at this "fair share" bullshit that people are talking about makes those people look incredibly foolish. A question I love to ask democrats is... What IS the rich's "fair share" supposed to be?
Yes because taking a few % more from the wealthy has the same impact it does on people with less money. The money that EVERYONE saves by having the cost of EVERYTHING lowered can and will greatly outnumber the absolutely miniscule taxes that every income earner would then be paying.
Ron Paul 2012
lol the sad thing is that you're serious
flat taxes what are you doing
punishing successful people for being successful. Oh wait, no thats whats going on right now. Those successful bastards and their success. I think their money is better spent paying for half the country to keep re-electing me rather than being spent on things that the successful dude earned with the money that he earned. cause that makes sense.
I can't watch the primary debates. Everything they say is based on "facts" that are completely and totally divorced from reality. It's just a circle jerk of wingnut insanity.

Mitt Romney's looking likely. All I can think of whenever someone brings up Cain's 9-9-9 plan is this...
Romney, Perry, and Cain are probably going to be the ones that make it. Though Perry is less likely after cratering in the previous along with Bachman. Please tell me nobody here is voting Bachman.
lol the sad thing is that you're serious
Do you realize how condescending and arrogant you sound sometimes?
Do you realize how condescending and arrogant you sound sometimes?
doesn't matter it's still hilarious
Personally I think Romney is the only one with a chance in hell of not losing by a landslide. He'll lie through his teeth to get the nomination, then flip on everything and sell himself as a semi-moderate to the swing voters. Perry will lose because nobody wants another Texan in office, Cain’s policies are a joke, and Bachmann is scary crazy. Romney will tell any audience you put in front of him exactly what he thinks they want to hear.
Obama will be in office for another 4 years
This is pretty much the dumbest, most unobservant statement you could possibly make in a politics-oriented thread. Do you not watch the news?
This is pretty much the dumbest, most unobservant statement you could possibly make in a politics-oriented thread.
oh ho ho look at the political genius here.

I got myself a new pair of Mitt Romneys today.

Way to spew that 38% propaganda like some kind of fucking parrot.

Romney is the smartest. I think he'll win the primary unless his religion gets in the way.

They own so much of the wealth that that little tiny 38% is literally nothing. It's meaningless. It's not fair right now. The poor and middle class in this country pay far more on taxes than the rich as a percentage, and the 9-9-9 system only furthers that problem. The '38%' statistic is pure propaganda. You're forgetting so many other taxes and tax loopholes that the 9-9-9 system doesn't address.
did ya miss the part there about half the country not paying income taxes at all? Half the COUNTRY?
The people you say pay 38% of the taxes spend less than half as much as the poor/middle class do on their taxes. They own so much of the wealth that that little tiny 38% is literally nothing.
You're forgetting so many other taxes and tax loopholes that the 9-9-9 system doesn't address.
So you missed that part about the 999 plan literally REMOVING all taxes except the 3 in the plan? All of this is to make way for Fair Tax, its a transitional tax system
did ya miss the part there about half the country not paying income taxes at all? Half the COUNTRY?
What about payroll tax? Investment tax? State tax? Local tax? Are you willfully ignorant, or just ignorant?
