It's supposed to look a little monsterish, not like a pure evil thing, just big and scaryish because of that. So it needs that ruffled hair. But I agree with the arms, shorter strands.
I find it extremely cute really, perhaps add some expression accents to make it look mad, or claws or make it thinner, but as is it looks like a big adorable guinea pig. I see what you're going for the hair being scraggly, and it works, but what you have digitized so far doesn't seem too intimidating.

Automerge pls:
Update of reptillian robo-armor I posted like a month ago. I'm having artists block on how to do the rest of it, if anyone could sketch some way to incorporate the arms under the shoulder-guards/aerofoils that would be amazing, because as is I just can't visualize it. Also I'm aware of the oversaturated color and sketchy outlines. I actually like that style for the outlines and the color is just something I need help with since I'm a little colorblind. I actually drew half the outline in blue without realizing it and had to go back and fix it lol.

Eh, I don't blame you :\ . I meant it to be one of those unnecessarily complicated things, and it is really sloppy. Maybe I can redeem myself by posting this painting I did for Matix and his sweet minecraft album a few days ago.

It looked more like a whirlpool to me, heh.
Looks more like a whirlpool.
Caves have rocky parts in it and are never this smooth looking.
Use reference images.
Fixed some small things on the lady and will begin on tracing my rat drawing now and then finishing more details and odd shading shapes on the lady when I can see her in comparision with the look of the rat (since there will probably be some fix-ups here and there to make them match better).

I get it you're proud of it but why, why do you spend bazillion hours on one goddamn thing trying to make it look good if instead you could do more of pose practise?
RAERGH IT'S NOT A CAVE IT'S A TUNNEL THAT WAS NATERUALLY FORMED BY WATER OR SOEMTHING GAOSH GUYS. Oh well, can scratch trying to be an artist haha :| at least I have...food.

Maybe if you tried doing water it would look like a cave
Maybe if you tried doing water it would look like a cave
It would be funny if it wasn't disappointingly true.

I thought it was a planet in space or something...
I thought it was a planet in space or something...
Yea that's what I thought as well.
You should texture the walls or something.

Fine, I'll add some stalactites/mites and stuff :(
I wanted it to be a nice smooth tunnel but man this is disappointing.
EDIT:
...disagreee.... *tear*

Why would you want to stop? YOu allready have a brilliant signature, now you need to practise in order to start making stuff to match it.
Just use more reference, you can't start drawing brilliantly right away from imagination, you need to understand how things work first. Try drawing off photos or something, or off imagination and find reference images you can use in them.

Here, try using dem as reference or something
It has a human(ish) face?!!
Recently I've been enjoying drawing a random, morphed circular shapes, then turning them into a faces, and sometimes adding a body (in this case, a squirrel's body) to further define the doodle's character.
I've been trying to smooth out this picture of me at the beach. Had to photoshop all the people out that were swimming. This pose was just random luck.
So I tried to vector pictures since an Adobe Expert came to my class and taught us a few things about Flash, Illustrator and Camera Raw, HDR and picture temperature.
So this is what I have so far.

I had to go into photoshop to color some stuff in so thats why parts of the picture look pixilated as shit. I'll use a brush on that later.
I also didn't bother smoothing out the ocean because whenever I started to, it looked like crap.
Most lines smoothed and redrawn with a mouse. Others stayed the way Illustrator created them.
I also CANNOT draw for crap.
done with this:

I overall like it, but the values seems kinda dirty here and there.
and I have a challenge for you chesty, I want you to draw something from head
YOU ARE INSANE
does multiple references for inspiration count at all, like the concepty stuff i've done?
anyways i should do more quick anatomy practice and proportions before making stuff entirely from my head so i'll start working on that next week. it'll look terrible otherwise
aaaaaaaaaaargh let your imagination loose! not shitload of refs just draw something
i'm scared
I made a wallpaper!
What do you think?

I can't work out which way round the hand is facing. The values are a bit confusing. Hurts my head.
dont you dare change the subject
I can't work out which way round the hand is facing. The values are a bit confusing. Hurts my head.
it'd be your left hand facing towards you
I bet those glowing fingers make an intresting fap in the dark

I'm not proud of it. I'm rather dissapointed at just how much I such and how I couldn't even manage to draw a person right at all after several hours spent erasing, re-drawing, erasing, re-drawing and then have to chicken out with a vector because I don't have the time to draw her properly.
I don't have the time to do pose practices because I have less than a week to finish these tasks:
Task 1
Tegn et rom som inneholder et menneske og en gjenstand i en situasjon. Valgfri teknikk.
Draw a room that contains one human and a object in a situation. Free to choose any technique.
Task 2
Send in 3-5 of your own works. Chose one of your works and give a short documentation of process from idea to finished work.
Task 3
Make a poster in A3 height format with the theme: Greed
The text on the poster can be "*some Norwegian saying for greed here*" or some other text you think fits your concept better.
The sponsor (or whatever one would call it) could be some organization that fits your visual message, like The Red Cross.
Task 4
Make one page in a environmentcalender (A3) that you think is the most important of 12 global environmental issues.
Task 5
Make a presentation of yourself (Max 4 pages) that tells about your personality and talents.
With little text and talking visuals your presentation should convince us that you're the one that should be a student at our school.
Show effort and creativity in your argumentation. Put most weight on the visual uniformity and make it easy and "accessible".
Then there are some 6 other tasks to be done in a bit under 3 weeks for another school. (two of them being that shoe drawing and courage (mot) poster)
And I work (not on the tasks, but work work) every single day except for Sunday.
So basically why I'm posting the progress here is as I've already said, to have you nitpick on me if you feel like it so I can get a good as possible product.
are you in art school dgg. what kind
