Then make some.

i dont get why people always say 'more art needs to be posted!'
what's wrong with some banter and discussion?
and you know that when there is new art you're just going to scroll through most of it anyway
[editline]29th March 2011[/editline]
forcing people to post art is a fruitless exercise
they either will or they won't
We should start having discussions through artwork.
Personal image macros. Then we satisfy both ends.
No, not really.
It's an effort to read now, everyone's bitchin'. post art.
I'd post some ..but my art skills are pretty much on par with the average deviantart member.
There's a difference between Times and Times New Roman right? I think there is.
as far as i'm aware there is very little difference. primarily it's just Times is what it's called on a mac and Times New Roman is the name on a windows system.
there is a difference between Times Roman and Times New Roman though... but that's not what we're talking about :P

That's good enough. You're not good at drawing (but not deviant terrible like you said, you're normal), but you won't be without drawing either. And then you can post some stuff here and then maybe get some CC on it. Get to know what to really focus and train on.
I made a story book! Looks better printed, but comments please. Read it!

I hate being a detail whore.
I do more shit than necessary.
I add in so much it just becomes a mess.
It takes a fuck load of time and it's really just a waste.
But I just can't fucking stop. Bad fucking habit of mine.

The rat's head and arm area looks great! Personally on his hindquarters I would make
the hairs larger since the highlight's focused there, I think it would also look
better in general, since all the hairs look the same size.
The lady's pose looks stiff.
Whoa, double post.

why didnt you draw his dick in the first image? are you afraid of penises or something geez
No but seriously, I think you should avoid leaving your drawings incomplete like that. (referring to the arms and face too) Don't be afraid of messing up.

Good idea. And yeah they are the same size because copy pasta x 100000.
She is a stiff fuck. But I can't really fix that now because it would be too much work and it'll make a bit more sense when I place them in the room and make it dark as fuck. Since she cant actually see the rat.
This is just something I've always wondered about digital painting, you see where the the colours a nicely blended together, for example on the nose here, is that done by just using very very similar colours very very carefully, or do you use the blur tool to blend them?
The blur tool is one of the most important tools in digital painting, do not let anyone tell you otherwise. To create proper form, edges and colors react differently under different exposures to light (or lack of). Details and edges in shadows should be blurred more while things in light should be used with harder brushes and finer details. So blur does come in handy for certain things, but not for what you have asked. To blend colors on the nose I started with some very base colors as shown on a previous picture then worked my way down with a hard brush that had a noise texture. Using the hard brush I keep my saturation and sharpness but the noise texture allows optimum blending with half the effort required by a standard brush.
I didn't even touch the blur tool to blend this:

The result of bur tool is too smooth and... just bad...

And as he said, the blur tool should not be used for blending.
