the shadow underneath the ball shouldn't be a solid tone
Blended it in
It should be more like this Or something like that.
Thanks [img_thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/oHfAKZ.png[/img_thumb] Maybe a bit more.
Looks like a ball hovering in front of a 2d backdrop.
Looks like a ball hovering in front of a 2d backdrop.
More shadow at the bottom ?
The shadow underneath should be MUCH darker.

And to Chryseus, try doing a study of a chrome ball. It really helps you to understand the way light is reflected.
Well, not really art or anything, but more a request. I had managed to get that special paper you use to put an image on a shirt, so my first idea was maybe like the facepunch logo, but then I reconsidered it. Then, I had the great idea of something minecraft orientated, though I can't make anything nice. So, my request to anyone who can draw or do pixel art is, Can you please make me an awesome drawing or anything to put on the shirt?
guys I tried out a new technique I'm really pleased with, gonna continue with it I think [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/wuh5T.png[/img_thumb]
You fool, you have to use brushes with 100% opacity!
[img_thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/Yo63Cv.png[/img_thumb] I know it is not quite right but for a first attempt I'm pretty pleased, time to go rest my hand.
That shadow is going the wrong way. It should always be going the direction the light source is coming from. The shadow you had when you first started was going somewhat in the right direction.

Yes. Sorry. But it was. Maybe someone else here can give you better criticism but that's the most I can do.
I enjoy sillohuettes and vectors. beware, it's big haha
Fuck was it really THAT bad?
I took the liberty to make an overlay on your drawing and the ref picture. For one I don't even know if this is some sort of April fools joke, or an actual attempt at drawing. Mainly because you say "Fuck was it really THAT bad?". Yes, yes it was really that bad. Here is a quick tutorial at drawing from reference (or anything for that matter) and its similar to what I said to fat duck boy. Step one. Draw an general outline of the figure. Now listen here kido, don't just do the outline of the body, but LOOK FOR SHAPES in the main figure. After you finish drawing the original sketch (IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ACCURATE AND DON'T YOU DARE FUCKING START SHADING YET HOLY SHIT I KNOW YOU REALLY WANT TO BUT HOLD THE URGE) start erasing and adding a more accurate form. 1000 times. Step two. If for some reason God/Zeus/Odin grants you the ability to do an accurate proportional drawing (god help us) then at this point you can start going in and filling in the details. WAIT DON'T DO THAT YET. Here is a quick check in order to see if your drawing is accurate. I don't know if you happen to be blind, and if you happen to be, you won't be able to pass this step, just give up now. Take a quick look at your drawing, ask your self this "Does this look fucking ANYTHING like my reference?" if no then please start over or make adjustments. If for some reason you actually believe it does, then do the check again. Keep doing that check until you are 100% sure you got the proportions right. Step three. Once you got the details down you can start your "UBER 133t shaDing pRo StylE" because we all know Shad9ng is s0 much fun. Actually its overrated, and when done horribly, it makes your piece look even worse than it originally did. IMO no one should shade until they google the definition of a value.
Today I also decided to grow a pair and try and draw. [img_thumb]http://localhostr.com/files/dHmfyLO/capture.png[/img_thumb] As my second attempt at drawing I'm kind of happy. Going to have to draw many before I even bother shading/colouring but oh well. Little steps.

Hey guys! I just got my work back from AP Will post it all soon! [editline]1st April 2011[/editline] April fools
welp since this isn't threadworthy I'll post this here since it doesn't say anything about non-drawings. I took a mediocre ATX PSU and turned it in to a lab PSU whilst installing it in to an external hard drive enclosure (I left out 3.3V because it's useless for my needs). I sanded it down to emulate a wood finish because I was bored. I'm sure your creative minds can think of something.
it's a shame that you masked out all that awesome line art
I was gonna have two versions of this picture. One with basic colors and then the one I'm working on right now. So there will be one with awesome line art.

Please don't read too much into this, it's just a sentence I thought of and I wanted to make a wallpaper for it.
