surely if multimedia design encompasses graphic design i can say that i do graphic design, as i do
i just do other stuff too
dont tread on me ATTICA ATTICA
She probably suspects that your module of graphic design is nowhere near equivilant to her full-time GD course
Which sounds reasonable, I did multimedia @TAFE last year and it wasn't terribly in-depth
yea im doing a tafe because i fucked up at school and did nothing but my goal is to transition into the degree after i complete this
its not like i was sayin hey i am doing an equally high level course as you all i meant was im in my second year working with graphics and shit
but i guess THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH and yall gotta put me down!!! im crying right now
[editline]9th April 2011[/editline]

wtf dude, art isn't mesured by how much schooling you've doned.
The best people on net have rarely even attended any art/graphic design school to get where they
okay uhm so it's not really a "creative work" since i haven't actually made it yet but this is a little idea i have for a leaflet type thing for this butterfly charity? the whole metamorphosis thing...

Looks like a good idea.
You could always put down the information in a butterfly-like pattern on the wings if you could find a clean way to do that.

yeahh, i mean it'll have to be quite colourful and visually representative of a butterfly on the inside but i think i could make it work... eventually.

Ya know Autumn I don't think you should look down on anyone graphic design skills just because they don't go as high level school as you do

I don't think she did?
She just mentioned that it wasn't the same thing. (which it kinda is)
And pure graphic designers aren't as attractive as someone can do several other things as well
uhm... all i said was that the course that rusty's currently studying is not the same as the course that i'm currently studying. not once have i ever looked down on rusty's work, and i know for definite my poster making skills are complete shit in comparison.
stop being so defensive for him.

Here's a terrible WIP painting I did in Corel Painter 11. Can anyone give me any tips for painting in Corel? Or Photoshop? Not just realistic, anything, expressionist. Just some tips to make it not look so amateur, maybe some lighting tips or tips on the paintbrushes, using multiple layers and so on.
Thanks for your help guys, appreciate it.
By the way if it's any use, my theme for this semester is natural disasters. So I will be painting a lot of buildings and destruction, debris, mostly still life, so not many people.

although generally the title of graphic design encompasses branding, advertising, editorial, illustrative and other works :P
although generally the title of graphic design encompasses branding, advertising, editorial, illustrative and other works :P
Yeah, it's a wide one.
Web design, posters, ads, product designs, company profiles, logos, illustrations.
But still, you know what I mean.
I for one have a focus on Graphical Design but also learn animation, drawing, Photography and video editing and also like dubbing. (basically manage to handle everything in media well enough except for graphical design which I should be much better at)
Which is why I'll study drawing for realz after April.

Exactly. That's why I'm going through the Fine Arts program and not a graphic design program. Because fundamentals never change, but the graphic design program of the day does. Also, you don't get to do metal sculpting in graphic design ^_^
although generally the title of graphic design encompasses branding, advertising, editorial, illustrative and other works :P
this isnt an argument or anything but just to clarify what my course is is basically that stuff (but obviously not as in depth) as well as photography, video creation and editing, animation, various coding languages, computer hardware, etc
which is only really useful if you want to choose a career that requires metal sculpting :P
but anyway, WE'RE CHATTING (which is oMgZ not allowed~). i'm happy with the course i'm doing and where it's going to take me, and evidently everybody else is happy with what they're doing so we'll leave it at that!

which surely means that whilst you may be covering the same areas as we are, if you're doing additional 'subjects' then you can't be concentrating as much on them as my course does? yeah and i'm not getting at you, i'm just saying we don't do exactly the same thing, which is what i thought you were implying

I'm happy with not going to school at the moment?
Fucks no.
Am I happy that I have concentration problems with doing my works?
Fuck hell nO!
Am I happy that I have a job and it gets me the cash?
Well yeah.

You think sculpting is only useful in the education process if you are going to pursue a career in sculpture?
You think sculpting is only useful in the education process if you are going to pursue a career in sculpture?
for me, sculpting skill is of little use to what i'm going to be pursuing in my career. evidently not for you if you've gone down the fine arts route.

im saying that i do very very similar things. right now i too am meant to be working on a graphic design branding assignment
we just dont spend as much time on each particular aspect of graphic design because its such a broad course that we have a lot of shit to cover
again not comparing dicks sizes nor do i want to but i am saying we do stuff in the same field
but yours is a higher level and more specific to what u wanna do
okay good hugs and kisses all around
autumn is a happy artist
