uhhh
artists privilege
it's a uh
character choice yeah that's it
[QUOTE=PLing;29165045]It doesn't really give a solid and competent feel, more like playful and light hearted. Which aren't qualities I usually connect to textbooks and rental stores. The design itself looks very nice and clean but I'd never use a service like that if my friends hadn't tried it first, it just looks that much generic and not serious.
[editline]14th April 2011[/editline]
I'd also make the banner where the monkey is smaller so it doesn't eat so much space.[/QUOTE]
I understand that it looks a bit playful and light-hearted, but this is the feel I was told to create when designing the site. I was told not to make it too formal. I don't think it looks that childish though, but that's just my opinion I guess. The playful feel of the site wouldn't put me off from renting books from there if I ever did.
The banner is just a placeholder for now. I'm not very good and making illustrations such as scenery and characters so they're gonna hire a proper graphic illustrator to design the banner.
i might as well post the finished version of my black swan poster. i'm getting it printed for a friend for her birthday

Do the pursuit of happiness
i didnt really like that movie
[editline]14th April 2011[/editline]
but i can picture my poster of him already. its a black silhouette of his face and theres some imagery inside of it that has something to do with his persuit of happiness. also it is purposely distressed and grungy
now i dont have to do it :)
WHAT?! best movie ever! Ok fine then do Hot fuzz, or run fat boy run
[editline]14th April 2011[/editline]
or zombie land, get to use a lot of grunge and blood brushes :downs:
[QUOTE=Rusty100;29165234]i can't help but feel it should have a border, something like this
[img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1482927/strider%20empire%20strikes%20back.png[/img_thumb][/QUOTE]
I tried putting a nice border around for nearly an hour but I couldn't make it look good. But this looks great and I'll put one similar to this one around it probably. I think the problem I had was that I tried to do the border in the lower (blue) color instead of the sky color, and that looked like shit. I'm not to sure about the beige going on there though, I specifically went for the cold white so that it would have that icy blizzard effect.
[editline]14th April 2011[/editline]
also do Back to the Future

give it a white border then
but add just a tad of grunge to the upper landscape blues to blend them slightly with the background so it doesnt look like an afterthought
even though it is
dont grunge the bottom blue, as it's the base. its a solid and holds the rest of it up
ooo yea do Hot Fuzz, good idea.

I was thinking of doing it myself had you not accepted the idea, and I wanted to have like prison shot of a swan like with the black stripes and the prisoner ID

Also yes, looks good. Personally the site is a bit too fru-fru for my tastes but that doesn't mean it's bad.

His hand is really tiny and his left leg looks off.
people who have no grip on anatomy tends to draw tiny hands
i don need big hands cos i got smal penis
Well,I'm just a novice in the drawing, started a few days ago. So I think I'll improve.
Thanks anyway, now I see what you are talking about
Shoe.
That is all.
