Creative Work That Doesn't Deserve A Thread V6 <3v3ryb0dy Hypocrite Critiques Edition>

Started sculpting a tree trunk for a base and added some minor details here and there. Turning out pretty nice so far,but still a ways to go. Even though I kinda already know what I'm doing, I learn something new every time I go back at it.

Made a really simple dual screen wallpaper. I kind of like it.
Thumb'd for size.

Hey Detlef, the way you give and receive criticism has been kind of... off lately. Has something been bugging you or are you letting the good comments go to your head? (I'm not trying to be rude here)

I think like everybody else she can not be arsed to make detailed nice constructive criticism for everything she bothers to criticize. It needs a lot of effort and will. And honestly a lot of things are just not worth bothering with when you could all in all just point them to some tutorials and tell them to practice practice practice. And the fact that many people will not really take it to heart and improve with it.

What good comments?
Also yes, something is bugging me, it is art related and I do let it out on people in this thread. I don't like being 100% nice when it comes to critisism and you guys will have to live with that but it doesn't help for everyone here to rate me dumb for every comment you don't like.
And I also agree with dgg at some point. Most people here don't want to take the critique given but rather continue as they used to because it's their "style"

Just some concept work.
Thumb'd for kinda big size.

No, no soft brushes! this is more of a tips than actual critique (both maybe), but please, never render with soft brushes. That goes for everyone

Looks okay. I definitely like the design But since it's a concept design I think you should drop the hard black shadowing. It's making the design less noticeable because it's kind of dissapears behind all that shadowing and that's kinda bad for a concept sketch.
Gonna keep the lineart btw?
I'll gradually fade it out. I imagine it will be visible at the end to some degree.

Didn't you mention art school applications? Or was that someone else in the thread? I can vouch for that, going down that very road right now.

Meh I don't get the big png hype. 100% quality jpeg is fine enough for me. Far more practical.

yeah jpeg is usually fine, but not when uploading to imgur... imgur does things to them... strange things.
A clip from my new track. It isn't work in progress and it's just a clip so I don't think it deserves a new thread

Maybe people should stop using complete shit filehosts then.

Just a random sketch that came to mind when listening to The Prodigy's "Take Me To The Hospital"...some kind of gas mask mixed with some speakers and a screen?
Sketch for a graphical design around the word "courage" ("mot" in Norwegian). Will be making some others.

Like it? Hate it+ Any ideas for improval?
Was a fucking bitch to do, having to copy paste all those triangles and group the different coloured triangles together so I could quickly change them.
I'm going to mid center it. Just don't understand why it wasn't from the start. Mid point in the text box and mid point for the actual text is oh so different.
only been using soft brushes on the shadows.

Yes.

You should only use soft brushes to make something unfocused/blurry and to make a base colour that you draw with hard brushes over (although you should use hard brush both as base and detailing).
ahh thanks for the tips this is first serious digital painting and I was just using skills I picked up by my self.
