A little bit here and there. :) http://www.yankodesign.com/images/design_news/2009/01/09/moss_carpet3.jpg
Ahhh, interesting. Thanks for the insight!
My very first try with digital art. Wow it feels unnatural.
That doesn't appear to be a sphere...
That doesn't appear to be a sphere...
I'm not that good tbh :v:
.. you could try erasing the excess brush stokes so we can actually see the shape?
I actually like that it's blurry or what not, but, you know, the light also reflects back from the surface the sphere is standing on.
.. you could try erasing the excess brush stokes so we can actually see the shape?
I fail horribly when I try that
I fail horribly when I try that
How!? You just have to draw a loop around it using whatever the eraser tool equivalent is for the program you're working with.
I fail horribly when I try that
I take it you haven't tried cutting it out using the ellipses tool set to a 1px feather.
I take it you haven't tried cutting it out using the ellipses tool set to a 1px feather.
Oh wow how didn't I think of that :downs: Thanks guys.
Oh wow how didn't I think of that :downs: Thanks guys.
Yep. Now you have the artistic prowess required to- [tab]*gasp*[/tab] -draw a circle!
Finally started figure painting again, and I managed to land myself in one Henry Yan's class, this guy is a god of god's of figure painting. Seriously I'm so stoked. Here's what I came with today in 4 hours of work with oils on a 14x16 canvas. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12913216/Art/Traditional%20Paintings/IMG_19182.jpg[/img_thumb] I can't wait to see what my works will end up looking after a semester with this guy. (He made this master piece as a demo for us in 10 minutes, seriously this was like hours of work done in 10 minutes, he could have sold it for $500 easy, and as soon as he was done, he asked, did everyone understand? We were like yeah, he says okay then, grabs tissue and wipes the painting away. Everyones face after that ->:geno: his work by the way, puts my shit to shame: http://www.henryyanart.com/portfolio.php )
Guys, I'd like to keep updating my progress on these figure paints, I'd like to know if I should keep posting them here, or make a thread about them and update them there?
Yep. Now you have the artistic prowess required to- [tab]*gasp*[/tab] -draw a circle!
Oh my god I feel ~magical~
Guys, I'd like to keep updating my progress on these figure paints, I'd like to know if I should keep posting them here, or make a thread about them and update them there?
Maybe make a thread like Detlef did. Just make sure you can update it frequently with more content, otherwise there's not much point in a seperate thread.
Guys, I'd like to keep updating my progress on these figure paints, I'd like to know if I should keep posting them here, or make a thread about them and update them there?
Make a thread. One doodle from you has more work put into it than 50 works that has their own threads. Doesn't matter how frequent you make new stuff unlike what Barnhouse said. Nothing that stops you from bumping a 2 month old thread in order to not spam with threads nor drown your work some place in this thread.
I was just watching Wild Wild West and I have an urge to draw something steampunk, yet I have no idea what to draw. It also made me want to learn more about steampunk art. Any suggestions/ tutorial links?
Just messing around during Info Tech. I'm not really sure what I was going for, but it looks like some sort of Tron thing or possibly a desktop icon.

[img_thumb]http://www.lackadaisycats.com/gallery/1295341707.jpg[/img_thumb] I love this woman, one of the best expression guides I've seen. Thumb'd for very large image.
Will you stop being mad at me then?
yes then i will like you forever
Bit more work: [img_thumb]http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/5362/conceptwipv3.jpg[/img_thumb]
Were you, by chance, inspired by this concept? [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/suit.jpg[/img_thumb] Because the resemblance is uncanny.
So I ended up drawing a Buncha people I know on steam. Except for Dean, Who is based on This doodle he made that's supposed to represent him. Don't really expect any of you to know who they are cept for maybe one or two of them, so their names and quotes are pretty irrelevant. Tagged for size. Soo there you go.
Anyone knows a good way how to colorize a grayscale image?
yes then i will like you forever
I don't believe you, it's a trap
its not a trap the fastest way to my heart is compliments and doing what i say
its not a trap the fastest way to my heart is compliments and doing what i say
This is true. That's why Rusty hates me.
Do you hate me Rusty?
[img_thumb]http://i56.tinypic.com/2lm9mgy.png[/img_thumb] Anyone knows a good way how to colorize a grayscale image?
Make a new layer above it, set the blending mode to color and paint color on that layer. [editline]10th February 2011[/editline] Assuming you use Photoshop...
A thing that is probably not a value study
