I'm a having hard time finding the inspiration to work on it though because I posted a very early playable version but only got one response so I feel like nobody would be interested even if I did finish it :smith:

Shameless trace of a picture of Zoey done in Illustrator for practice. Not done yet, want to completely redo the hair and add some more shades to the jacket.
the shadow makes it looks like she has a faint stubble
Yeah, I sat for ages trying to get it look right but I gave up on it. I'll have to go back to it later. [editline]19th February 2011[/editline] A bit better, I think.

Sometimes I dabble in other programs than MS Paint, such as the grafitti on facebook: The ears turned out so bad on this one, something I really need to work on. (And proper human anatomy, the face is still a bit too wide and not really placed all facial features where they should be, those kind of things).

try this, it's pretty cool http://muro.deviantart.com/
Oh god
It's a picture that is going to haunt me for the rest of my life.
What are you guys talking about? it's a perfectly normal guy. [sp]At least where I live[/sp]
My first animated gif in photoshop. It was a lot more difficult than I expected (as everything art related usually is for me). Also I made this
Made a new avatar from a drawing of a warforged to reflect how much of a D&D nerd I'm becoming. Really didn't do too much besides recolor the eyes from green to red, make the background transparent, and resize. I like it, though. [editline]19th February 2011[/editline]
Here's a face thing. [img_thumb]http://db.tt/J3riNSb[/img_thumb]
Oh shit, reminds me of A Scanner Darkly.
I didn't have much drive to draw, still I wanted to draw something so this is the outcome..One of my nameless characters..A demigod/hero.
First try at using Gimp for art in at least a year... Much better than my earlier stuff still somehow. I feel like I may have picked up some good habits from reading this thread.
Drop this shit here to get C&C Link cause I took pictures with my camera http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14329594/DSCF0836.JPG http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14329594/DSCF0830.JPG http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14329594/DSCF0832.JPG http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14329594/DSCF0832.JPG http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14329594/DSCF0833.JPG http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14329594/DSCF0829.JPG yes I took them on my bed shoot me. also the quality does no justice to the shading.
Huge scan, media tagged for size. All done in pen, no reference this time around, no pre-sketch. Why did I do all this (wrong from a general stand point)? Because I wanted to see how it came out from my mind.
Another one of me experimenting. I think it's really good for practically no experience with this kind of medium.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/TIMLOCHWOODSTRIFE.gif[/img_thumb]
Good for a first try, photoshop is not the best to animate in of course. Although simply 'moving' (motion tweening) the body parts is a perfectly fine method of animation, on its own the divides between the different animated pieces are very obvious and smoothness is often lost. Try combining motion tweening with frame-by-frame animation (e.g. stomach heaving, fists clenching and a 3D effect on the hat). It'll make it look 100% better and more professional. [editline]20th February 2011[/editline] also the way both legs move apart doesn't look right, try moving one or bending the knees with frame by frame.
Reminds me somewhat of a shy-guy
Reminded me of Thomas the train.
Thomas the tank engine. Silly! :buddy:
Need to start on something else.
Got bored; quickly animated a gif from killzone 3. Helps get a feel for body and camera movement.
that's kinda cool
I'd go as far and say it's really cool, I love rough sketches like those.
Doodled a bit with a pen at work yesterday.
I always come to this section to post something I draw and instantly feel like giving up and shooting myself from seeing what are other people here are accomplishing just "by the way". :frown: Used this as loose reference. [img_thumb]http://www.ic-gallery.com/albums/userpics/Xan-x.JPG[/img_thumb] Drawn using mouse in Gimp. Took me few fucking hours to draw this thing. I feel like I will never be able to draw anything properly.
I feel like I will never be able to draw anything properly.
Well you won't if you give up now. Just stop trying to draw using a computer for now and go practice on some paper, it'll help you improve and release your full potential.
Outcome was for me always much worse on paper. I guess I have problems with fine motor skill of the fingers and the mouse somehow works better. I know I must not quit, I keep drawing, but I feel like I am just completely missing something.
