Size comparision with the pencil because everyone does it.

As you can see the image is flipped because I ended up drawing it facing the other way. Was odd but cool to work like that. Removed the worked in routine of how to draw it challenging me to draw it correctly "from scratch" if you know what I mean.

I think you should try getting rid of the heavy outline, it muffles the 3D-effect.

You also don't have much of a general block shape shaded in, it looks like you
relied on the fur to convey the rat's bulk. You could try shading in his/her
shape as a smooth thing, focusing on the light and darks (like if you were drawing
a chocolate mouse) and then add in the fur later.

needs more than one colour, the text is boring, the underline sucks, it makes poor use of space and is messy

I have not had much time to make it perfect. The text is the same as what the forums use, so I wasn't planning on anything fancy just something that would fit in sublimely.

What would you suggest I do to improve on the points you've mentioned?

I've tried getting rid of the outline many times, but without it it loses it's shape and it comes automagically whenever I try to draw the fur as the line.

I've relied on the shading and fur together, but yes I haven't done a good enough job at it. Erased that fur so many times and started with just shading in the shaded areas at first and then draw over that, shade over again and then draw fur over that again.

u used the flash brush tool in ur banner
u shouldnt be teaching flash

I can make the brush work look much better on the banner. It's using auto smooth currently and it was a thick brush.
