Afterwards just add in the texture and highlights, with pencil you can always go back and add in highlights with an eraser or whatever. I think you get a bit impatient maybe and skip onto the details too early, ignoring the proportions and stuff. Uhm, hope it helped. [editline]20th March 2011[/editline] Oh and obviously, you'll be neater and more careful with yours.

Cool, thanks for the feedback, now that I'm officially awake, I re uploaded it: [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12913216/Art/Digital%20Paintings/Sketches/sketch%20finilazed.jpg[/img_thumb] Fixed the balance of the pose, widened her forearm/wrist, and gave her a bit more facial expression..
Might be less creepy if she was looking towards the point more.
ye shes not really focusing on anything now
Certainly so. But her eyes scare me...
Shes focusing on you which helps make her face the initial focal point. I guess. Was it not neccisary?

[editline]20th March 2011[/editline] Arrgh! when I run it on my PC there is no frame rate drop, but as soon as I host it somewhere it plummets. [editline]20th March 2011[/editline] Updated: swirls nicer

I also have no idea whatsoever how you manage to turn those shaded blocks into hair strands because whenever I try to do it I just get massive black shitty blobs. Practice practice practice. I definitely see the distortion problems on my rat though. Some intentional others not. Like how it's back isn't wide enough and it's belly is too fat. I don't think I have the time nor effort to fix this up anymore than this. But thanks a lot for the feedback.
I abused my eraser,
So do I. But then, it's not much left of this eraser. But first of all, I just don't have the technique in yet. Obviously.
Might as well get a putty rubber then. Also, your beard is amazing.
I really envy your glorious beard, dgg. Here are two new sketchbook updates of mine (one of which is a digital sculpt of a dog with an eyepatch smoking a cigarette) (you have to scroll down by the way)
I wish I could grow facial hair like that :allears:
Where's the Manly rating when I need it?

the second one hurts my eyes
It looks like he added a paper texture over the top of it.
looks like bad jpeg compression too
So do I. But then, it's not much left of this eraser. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3655193/ErasureAlways.jpg[/img_thumb] But first of all, I just don't have the technique in yet. Obviously.
When drawing, don't think of it as putting in the physical details, but instead focus on drawing the light and shadow. If you create the proper shadow and light, the details and textures will come forth naturally. When drawing, youre simply copying the light and shadow to create the object if you think about it. In a photo you can't feel the texture you see, yet you can identify hair and skin and wood, even when gray scaled. This is because the shadows and light define the object not the actual feel. So focus less on creating a lot of lines. edit- Here is an example: Instead of using lines to create the fur, he uses the lines to create shadow and flow of the fur, so your mind automatically fills it in and defines it as fur. Try looking at pieces of the drawing and you will see such as on the head there are not defined lines at all, just blurred shading. Another example is the ears, he simply uses diagonal lines to define the fur, but if you have ever viewed a dog up close you will see it has very fine hair going downwards. If you were to cut off a piece of this drawing and simply look at it without viewing the original first, you would not think any of that resembles fur. Also, depending on how large the paper is, you can create even more complicated light and thus more realistic fur, the paper this sketch was made on is about the size of standard US notebook paper. edit- hnnnnnggg, had to fix typos.
Hey! Anyone knows any simple way to convert .eps files to .svg files? Either online conversion or by using a command line since I don't want to install all kinds of shit. If you do know any though please give me the program name and the correct code to use.
I am not aware of what those files are, but if the .eps is a file produced by the program (such as a .psd is produced by photoshop) then go to file and export for said program and see if the file option is there.
They are both vector graphics files. I don't have any advanced photo-editing program since I simply want to convert this logo to the .svg file format.
Your best bet would be to download gimp and see if it has the ability to convert it. I am not experienced in digital vector art, so there is probably some free vector program you can google and use to convert then delete.
Yesterday I drew a dick with public hairs and a mathematicians dick with cubic squares. Post, Y/N?
I'm so happy how active this thread is lately
Yesterday I drew a dick with public hairs and a mathematicians dick with cubic squares. Post, Y/N?
All art that does not feel important enough for a thread can be posted here, just be prepared for the reactions.

Ok I've made it as low lag as possible. This will hopefully be the menu for my flash game, CC on the cloud swirl effect would be very helpful: *Link*
