I don't know why you would really want to use OnLive anyway.
Being able to play human revolution on an iphone sounds cool. [editline]24th August 2011[/editline]
I seriously don't see a reason to care. OnLive doesn't sound all that interesting. And why should you hate gamestop because of this? They sell games. If the game works, I'm happy with their services. No questions asked.
So you don't care they are taking things away from you. If your standards are so low that "if the game works" is all it takes then you're missing out on some great deals. [editline]24th August 2011[/editline]
Unless your only possesions are a TV and you found a OnLive system in a dumpster. Otherwise, it's useless and I don't know why anyone would use it
Not everyone has a great computer. It would allow people with notebooks to be able to play games like crysis.
isn't that illegal? doesn't new mean sealed and never opened?

If they took out a 25 dollar DLC for a game I wanted to buy, yeah I'd be pissed. But that isn't the case.

You really don't care that they are taking thing away from your game? And you really don't find the idea of being able to play the pc version of the game on max settings on your netbook or iphone or something. I personally think that sounds pretty cool.
isn't that illegal? doesn't new mean sealed and never opened?
Nope. At Gamestop many games you buy new, are opened content stored in shelves, and case on display on wall.
Uhhh, GameStop is pulling Deus Ex http://kotaku.com/5834169/gamestop-pulls-pc-deus-ex-human-revolution-from-shelves-following-onlive-debacle
"Note that the recall is being performed in agreement with Square Enix, indicating the two companies have been in communication regarding the situation." Square Enix is doing this, don't be stupid.
Wow fuck off, agreement or not, they're pulling coupons worth $50 out of the game boxes and the employees are probably stuffing their pockets full of them.
I mean is this really that big of a deal? Just get it somewhere else instead of gamestop. They're not the only place that sells games. [editline]25th August 2011[/editline] Also, I don't hate gamestop. Especially since I'm a power up rewards pro member. It makes the experience better. If you hate gamestop so much, why do you continue to shop there?
I mean is this really that big of a deal? Just get it somewhere else instead of gamestop. They're not the only place that sells games.
Besides steam they are for me :(
Gamestop is complete shit and all, but why is everyone acting so surprised that a company is removing free advertising for a competitor?
Well everything is overpriced here in sweden anyhow so i don't give a shit about their prices :v:
I offered about 10 games that were in good condition and they offered $12, I said I would rather go home and throw them away.
Does any other retailer do this? I ordered it from JB hifi (An electronic store here)
This was the final straw for me. Done with buying from GameStop. Even though I'm not crazy about OnLive, I don't feel like giving my money to a company which encourages its employees to do such sneaky and sly business with the competition. And I've stuck to buying from them throughout all the other shit they've done.
Wow fuck off, agreement or not, they're pulling coupons worth $50 out of the game boxes and the employees are probably stuffing their pockets full of them.
Once again, it is against company rules to keep anything for themselves and is punishable by being fired. When they are done marketing and are ordered to destroy the stuff they had for advertising they are to get rid of it, but they cannot sell it. If caught they can lose their jobs. You're thinking under the assumption that Gamestop employee's can do whatever the heck they want, which is not the case. They have rules they must follow. And who the hell cares if they opened the game? You paid 49.99 for a game, you got the game. If something is wrong with the disc you simply go back and let them know. 99.99% of the time they will be glad to give you another in replacement. Gamestop is not a conspiracy, they are not out to get your games. You're all over reacting. [editline]25th August 2011[/editline]
Gamestop is complete shit and all, but why is everyone acting so surprised that a company is removing free advertising for a competitor?
This. Except the complete shit part. I like Gamestop.
I only use gamestop for used gamecube games. That shit is cheap.
in '06 I had to trade in 19 old PS2 games to get one Gamecube game.
By the way, I had a friend who bought DX:HR from the local GameStop, and her CD wouldn't work in the computer. Almost positive that happened while they were rummaging through the cases and pulling out the coupons.
I'm surprised that OnLive still exists.
Yah bullshit from Gamestop is not helping this one bit. It truly is Gamestop's Fault, but the employee's are not at fault. No employee is responsible for the actions of a company unless there is a legal issue involved.
I wasn't aware people still bought PC games at GameStop

You guys must go to shitty gamestops, seriously. I sold like ten games, some of which were really old and in bad condition, and I got 71 fucking dollars for it. That's a good deal, so either you're making shit up to make it seem worse of you're overvaluing your games.
Dick wave, seriously, a game PLUS another game of the same for free, and they removed it. That sucks.
Hmm, Gamestop here in Denmark sometimes have some pretty nice deals. I got Bioshock 2, Just Cause 2 and Metro 2033 for 200DKK. That's about ~35$. Anyhow, there PC section is pretty shallow, and this is just major buttfuckery.
They were ordered to by GAMESTOP. I'm not saying it's the employees faults, I'm saying Gamestop is an asshole company, and this is just another reason why. Order from Gamestop. This was sent to the managers to tell the employees, meaning Gamestop, the company, ordered the removal of the coupon that was supposed to be included with every game.
Isn't it illegal to refuse to sell games to people regardless of age?
Even though coupons would be where the manual is.
Yeah, but think about how there were probably hundreds of titles opened per store, gutted, and resealed in a matter of minutes to assure that the company order was satisfied. There's a good chance a lot of the cases were manhandled as employees did a factory-style approach to removing all the coupons. She wasn't impressed anyway, and she use to work at the exact same store.
Major dick move. When did these assholes start to go Activision/EA on our asses like this? Its for this and that that Steam and Valve are still on the lead. At least in my head they are.

In 06 they wanted 20$ for my xbox and the 30 games that came with it. The most you will ever get is 15$ and thats if the game is brand new. Gamestop is famous for giving really bad deals with used games because thats where they get most of there money.
Isn't it illegal to refuse to sell games to people regardless of age?
No, it is however illegal to sell to people who do not match the age requirement.
