Been talking to some Appcelerator folk, when I started writing this I was told that multiple-context applications were the way to go. It appears thanks to a number of changes in the Appcelerator SDK, this is no longer the case. I've just heavily restructured the application to use a single-context and it's now even faster! If we get rejected I'll ship this as our initial version if not I'll submit it as an update.
:woop:
I wanna get this tested on the older generation of devices so I'll be shipping a new update to the beta users very soon, super excited about this! It's flying even on my iPhone 3G now, I'm seeing similar performance to that I saw on my iPhone 4 before.
aPNG is only viewable in Firefox, webkit and all other browsers based on it do not have support.
Opera?
It's nice, in my location I don't have the fucking speed 3G connectivity... And I often have to surf on the EDGE (about 7 - 15 kbps Internet). It should be faster to connect to Facepunch and post in now :). But bad thing: it isn't free. And well 5$ for an iPhone application it's expensive. I see the price about 2 or 3$ that should be nice.
is there a beta? Make it 99cents
is there a beta? Make it 99cents
yes and no
There's a beta, but we're not accepting new beta users. Price isn't up for discussion.
Not sure why you think an image format by Mozilla would be used on Safari
you can see them with Opera though
I do have a second generation iPod touch sitting next to me, If you need help I'm here. ..Nevermind
No new beta users being accepted I'm afraid. I don't want to use any more of my UDID slots for this year.
No new beta users being accepted I'm afraid. I don't want to use any more of my UDID slots for this year.
What's that maximum? I forgot
What's that maximum? I forgot
100 per year.
I know it's not out, but I typed in Facepunch and someone created an app called "snabbo" under the dev. name "Facepunch Studios LTD"
I know it's not out, but I typed in Facepunch and someone created an app called "snabbo" under the dev. name "Facepunch Studios LTD"
Yeah, a guy named Garry.
I know it's not out, but I typed in Facepunch and someone created an app called "snabbo" under the dev. name "Facepunch Studios LTD"
How could you have possibly missed this? There was even an announcement to everyone in the forums about the release of that app...
Hexxeh you should work with Garry to have posts are are made with the app are a slightly different tint of blue than all the current posts have.
Hexxeh you should work with Garry to have posts are are made with the app are a slightly different tint of blue than all the current posts have.
... Why?
100 per year.
He must have quite a number of beta testers then.
Hexxeh you should work with Garry to have posts are are made with the app are a slightly different tint of blue than all the current posts have.
no. plus all posts are grey once read
Currently no, still thinking of a streamlined way to show this. Popping an entirely new window for it seems clumsy.
Hey Hexxeh, you know how in the Twitter app when you swipe a tweet it shows tweet options like retweet, fave, etc.? Would it be possible to do something like that? Here's a mockup: Also I tried putting the words along with the ratings, but Informative and Optimistic were too long, and I wanted to keep the even grid layout (yay for OCD :v:)

Make it rows of 3 and be able to scroll left and right
At least make it only display ratings they HAVE, to clean it up...
I'm pretty sure I remember him having ratings sorted when I was in the beta.
Will you be assisting Overv with his Facepunch app for Android when this is all done and dusted?
Will you be assisting Overv with his Facepunch app for Android when this is all done and dusted?
I've offered to help him with the API usage, but I don't know anything of Android development in Java, so I can't help him with his specific implementation.
Tapatalk enabled sites show a javascript alert on every page that says something like: "This site is Tapatalk enabled." on every page, and it's pretty damn annoying.
Just did some simulated GPRS tests, maximum of 5kb/s and round trip latency of 1000ms, MTU of 576 bytes which is similar to your average out-in-the-field GPRS connection. Page loads averaged about 7 seconds, thread list load was about 3 seconds, forum list load was about 2.5 seconds. Login request took about 1.32 seconds. On a simulated 3G network, 120kb/s and round trip request latency of 600ms, MTU of 576 bytes: Page loads averaged about 2.5 seconds, thread list load was about 1 second, forum list load was about 0.8 seconds. Login request took about 0.9 seconds. Same page load in Safari took 20 seconds just for the HTML, more than double. Side note, Charles (http://charlesproxy.com) is awesome for this kind of stuff. Can sniff all traffic to/from my devices for testing and even intercept requests in realtime to test error cases. Also does throttling and connection simulation for testing things like the above.
