Glad to hear you got them to admit they were wrong.
So this app will work with the iPod Nano right?
[QUOTE=lead_farmer;30482724]So this app will work with the iPod Nano right?[/QUOTE] The nano doesn't have an app store, at least it didn't last time I checked?
Plus, how in the hell would you browse with a screen the size of a watch face?
[QUOTE=Forumaster;30482959]Plus, how in the hell would you browse with a screen the size of a watch face?[/QUOTE] use a monocle
It was a joke.
[QUOTE=lead_farmer;30483108]It was a joke.[/QUOTE] :frog:
[QUOTE=Raptor;30483125]:frog:[/QUOTE] Since you are new here let me explain you use the frog on people such as yourself, since you need to get out.
[QUOTE=Hexxeh;30079389]Oh by the way if anyone can post details of what they think might be a plausible attack on the DRM and I think your idea could work I'll throw you a copy of the binary so you can try your ideas out.[/QUOTE] Sent a PM to Hexxeh about three weeks ago with my idea of an attack on his DRM. Had a few PMs back and forth but never received a copy of the binary. Fast forward to the present and I've gotten my hands on the app: [img]http://ahb.me/3g7Y[/img] Well that [i]rock-solid[/i] DRM was easy to defeat. [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline] [QUOTE=Hexxeh;30078114]The binary will be in the App Store if anyone thinks they can use it without paying. Hint: you can't.[/QUOTE] heh [highlight](User was permabanned for this post ("Alt of a permabanned user" - Hexxeh))[/highlight]

Well it was just a matter of time for that to happen, you gloating about the AMAZING UN-DEFEATABLE DRM that you made on almost every single page of the thread probably didn't help :v:
[QUOTE=RautaPalli;30654960]Well it was just a matter of time for that to happen, you gloating about the AMAZING UN-DEFEATABLE DRM that you made on almost every single page probably didn't help :v:[/QUOTE] What he's done is replicate the server that the application relies on. This represents a pretty big effort, isn't going to bring the same speed (since he's just scraping pages), is going to be hard to get it to work correctly (as you can see, the messages there contain BBcode, this isn't the case in the real app). Plus anyone who attempted to run such a server would have it taken down, and I'd be filtering traffic from any clients that are showing massive volumes of traffic as his would. Maybe even permaban users found to be accessing via that method...
just ignore my post i guess
KICK ASS.
Hexxeh, he may not even need to get a server, since his script is small enough, he could just run it directly from the phone. Would be slow as fuck though.
[QUOTE=Ezhik;30655657]Hexxeh, he may not even need to get a server, since his script is small enough, he could just run it directly from the phone. Would be slow as fuck though.[/QUOTE] It might run from the device, but it'd be slow as you said. His script is only small because it's very rough though. It's also completely broken with the latest testing version since we switched to BBJSON output. Which he'll have a very hard time building from the HTML.
Good to know.
[QUOTE=Ezhik;30655657]Hexxeh, he may not even need to get a server, since his script is small enough, he could just run it directly from the phone. Would be slow as fuck though.[/QUOTE] If it was running from the phone, would it have any speed improvement at all?
That's awesome, hexxeh
By the way, was the upgrade thing resolved? Will you use the App Store, or just make us buy it here, since the guidelines allow that now?
[QUOTE=Noth;30655714]If it was running from the phone, would it have any speed improvement at all?[/QUOTE] No, it'd be even slower. Plus it'd kill your battery faster, you'd need jailbreak and a whole bunch of Python stuff installed. [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline] [QUOTE=Ezhik;30655748]By the way, was the upgrade thing resolved? Will you use the App Store, or just make us buy it here, since the guidelines allow that now?[/QUOTE] App Review came back and said "oh wait nope, we're not doing consumable, changed our minds again". Apparently they're saying use subscription now, but I don't think they can be purchased multiple times either, so that doesn't solve the problem. If they still come back with nothing, I'll just move the purchasing UI to a website instead of in-app.
Don't you need a API key for his method to work ? Making it pretty much useless because you'll just get your api key disabled? EDIT: Nevermind he just cloned the API using http requests.
[QUOTE=CawldFusion;30655779]Don't you need a API key for his method to work ? Making it pretty much useless because you'll just get your api key disabled.[/QUOTE] He's not explained how he's done it, but I'm guessing scraping, which is imperfect, but that's why he doesn't need an API key.
You'll probably end up doing it out of app, apparently they're butthurt over nothing
You should make it so we can post bad reading and bad spelling ratings in threads. I'm sure you could find a way to implement that, even if it is currently hidden for computer users.
Finally, a useful app for my iPad :smug:
So whats gone be the policy on Bans? You ban you lose it ?, would it be possible to move the app access to a new account ?, even if you don't get banned ?
You get banned, you lose it. So don't get banned.
My ipod always really faulty and small things are kind of hard to press accurately, I feel like there's going to be a few missratings. Not a big problem though.
