This is probably an issue for lots of facepunchers with exam time coming up. Year 13 student here: I'm having real trouble focusing and my next exam is on the 8th. Wuthering Heights and Frost poetry. Anyone got any proven methods to help concentrate? P.S. I need ABB to get into Bristol. Pretty tricky since I didn't do English last year so I'm doing both exams now.
get some self control also im applying for bristol too high five
A typewriter.
If you have a friend on an Adderall prescription or know someone who will sell you amphetamines that will help MASSIVELY. In low doses they highly increase your ability to learn and concentrate, meaning you can sit down for a few hours and learn a hell of a lot of information. They also actually increase your cognitive abilities. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nootropic
Do what I would do. Dont use headphones, start http://www.rainymood.com and have an extra song of your choice high enough for you to hear it, but low enough for you to hear the rain.

Do you Brits really call it revision instead of reviewing? I mean, in my experience, to revise has always meant something like to edit, for example, to revise a statement would entail correcting an error previously present. To review has always meant to go over again, like to review movie, or to study coursework.
Ask to be banned from FP so you don't get distracted Also delete your FB account [editline]12:57PM[/editline]
Do you Brits really call it revision instead of reviewing?

Spend 30 minutes revising every 2 hours. Your brain only absorbs a certain amount of information, spending too long revising makes all the information absorbed become a blur.
Your brain doesn't take in most things you read either, so make posters, flash cards etc.
Ask to have a temp ban from Facepunch, it happens this time every year. People do it al the time. The problem with removing all distractions is that for me staring at a fucking wall is more fun that studying
You need some white noise, try the rain sound from the classy thread
Get off your PC. Go somewhere where your PC isn't. Sit down. Work.
Personally, I find it easier to study/revise until I get bored, then flick over and browse forums, maybe play a round of deathmatch or something, then flick back again. It'll take you longer, yes, but it's far less painful and if you've got a half decent memory you'll have no trouble remembering it.
See if you can find any revision podcasts on the subject you're doing. The GCSE Bitesize ones helped me when I was revising for science.
For me, I spend hours daring myself to open some revision books. When they are open, I turn back to my computer for another few hours. Then, I read a sentence or two, go "Hmm yeah that makes sense", and here I am. It's a horrible cycle.
