but december 2006 was only 9 years ago, not 10 years ago http://www.timeanddate.com/date/durationresult.html?m1=12&d1=2&y1=2006&m2=12&d2=2&y2=2015 [editline]3rd December 2015[/editline] wow this is just EMBARRASSING isn't it
Until I noticed this thread's date I was utterly confused at this.
I was the last 2005'er before 2006 hit, so I have that going for me at least Also as a massive lurker. The automotive thread has helped me out so much from instead of me just chucking a wrench at my car. So I have to say Facepunch, you've helped me out quite a lot and I love you guys!
Don't stay at one place longer than 2-3 years.
How's that goin for you?
Facepunch has practically been an everyday thing for me ever since I joined and was a crutch for me in my depressions and hard times. It gave me an outlet to find content to entertain me and help me forget about day to day troubles. Whether it be from finding a cool youtube video in the videos section or going through hundreds of posts in the LMAO Pics thread. There was always something to check out. And despite me now living with my girlfriend and her kids I still make sure to squeeze in Facepunch at least 6 days out of the week if not all. I really don't plan on ever leaving.
if i put all the time I've spent staring at this forum into studying or reading, I'd still probably be a massive fuck up. Ten years man, give me gold you soul stealing witches.
I remember when these forums used to go ape shit over new valve content. It was fun experiencing the orange box, portal 2, left 4 dead, all of the ARGs with you all.
nearly a dozen years for me holy shit it has been on-and-off though. There was a good year or so gap where I didn't bother with Facepunch. shoutout to the old gmod tan forums. (User was permabanned for this post ("Tor alt account" - Orkel))
This thread made me go O.O! Holy moly, I think I was 13-14 years old when i first joined FP. And pretty much like OP, I’ve never been too outspoken. Although I’ve tried multiple times to get active on FP… One time it resulted in me getting banned (for being a dumbass and talking about wareZ). This scared me quite a bit, and at the time I took it way too personal, which lead to me lurking and creeping around instead of posting for a very long time. Back in the day, I also spent too much time on OIFY (which I think ruined me mentally), which in some twisted way helped me make some real life friends. So that’s positive, I guess. And the only reason I’m active now is thanks to FP Arma, and all the people playing it – trying to be active on Teamspeak, Discord and Slack. One of the reasons why I personally haven’t posted in all the years is similar to what OP wrote, but also due to me having this mindset of “no one cares, you’re only a child”. I’m 25 now, and I worry too much if a 2nd ban is incoming, so I try to meticulously find threads that I can really add something to. Because I want to be more active! I just don’t want to be that annoying dude spamming everyone all the time with stupid (funny!) posts. My intentions are good, I promise. I don’t want to up my game because of my post count or anything like that, I just genuinely want to get to know people and spread a little joy. My biggest obstacle is the fact that it’s so much easier for me to participate in threads in the General Games Discussion than any other place on the forum. Even though I really want to expand my horizons. My fear of relapsing and going back to “just” lurking is a motivation though, so I really try to be as active as possible – in the games’ department and other sub forums as well. Here’s to hoping I will soon learn the Facetiquette (see what I did there?)
I've been here for 4 years ama
my 10 year is sometime whenever idek but facepunch is a great place, being part of an online community was great seeing as I was never the type of kid to have friends or go outside :v: thank you all
