AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
GODDAMN ALL OF YOU PEOPLE FIGHTING AGAINST ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES AND FOR A POLITE AND HAPPY WORLD!
No but seriously I want to be able to express my childish extreme opinions/insults freely without people suing me.

why do you seem so obligated to defend 4chan anyways?
Because defining a site by one board is stupid
I don't like the idea of someone being able to go into my computer and look at my stuff. If you arent seeding anything and don't have suspicious files, they aren't going to do anything right? I mean, To find suspicious files they have to look on your computer, and they have to have suspicions already to do so, so what exactly warrants a search?

Or you can crypt your files and they won't bother

I don't have much to hide. Just some porn I dl'ed using keeptube to download the video from the site. That isn't illegal right? And that stuff is on an external HD that never leaves the side of my computer.
i just have a dislike for 4chan.
And although 4chan doesn't condone it, doesn't mean that it isn't posted. it's a hotspot for bad stuff, if you haven't noticed.
oh, come on.
/b/ isn't actually that bad aside from the occasional animal/human gore post, and if you haven't gotten used to shock pictures by now you haven't been on the internet very long.
They won't get me.
They won't get me.
cux u got super skerte hax amirite?
I highly doubt that this will go through or be acted upon. It sounds like a good idea on paper, but following it through would be putting a crazy amount of people in jail. Not to mention the man-power that it would take to search this kind of thing.
cux u got super skerte hax amirite?
No I am not wanna-be 1337. Just get the good programs and you're good to go.
Also, downloading seems to be legal in my country, but uploading/selling is illegal.
Not to mention the man-power that it would take to search this kind of thing.
remember that article about the FBI prioritizing copyright infringement over missing persons? yeah.

Do link. Seems interesting to read.
Please somebody tell me something about Canada. :gonk:
Let's just hope this is mainly scare tactics, I don't see them prosecuting everyone for every file aquired dishonestly, the internet's too big
Right?
I heard this acta bullshit few years ago, nothing happened.
I know a guy who works for my local ISP, he told me that they can see every image that people who use their service have watched and scroll trough a long list to find CP or whatever that is illegal and report it to police and that they keep track of every download that has been made and could report alot of torrent using pirates for example to cops but its too much hassle and they dont get payed enough to do it.

Not mentioning what they would do with the people who pirate who are under 18 years old. They aren't going to jail them too.
I hate that the government tries to get involved in the internet.
It never ends up well. Mostly harmless and totally harmless crimes are all that really happen. O noe someone downloaded a song illegally, o noe someone posted a consensual image of an underage girl, o noe gore that anyone who's ever watched a movie has seen!
The thing is that this is honestly a huge breach of privacy if they are allowed to monitor internet traffic. Not that they don't already, but because they do it under-the-radar, denying that they do it and and only partially legally they can never act on anything or use anything they have except for in certain circumstances. With this they could openly acknowledge that they monitor all internet traffic. Huge privacy issue right there.
I tell you hwat, the day I can no longer safely pirate music or watch a streamed movie or look up how to hotwire a car or look at an iage of a girl of questionable age on 4chan or whatever (not that I do any of those) is the day that personal privacy goes down the toilet and the government takes their power and reach into the realm of "just because there's no harm doesn't mean it's not wrong", and a first step towards the same policy on other things- free speech, press, literature (even though that's already been done), and all that stuff that we're legally able to do.
There have always been laws over this stuff, or some of it, but now they can prove it and fuck you over, especially now for things simply over 'reasonable suspicion'.

animal abuse sickens me, and just because you can get used to it doesn't make it good out of nowhere.
Authorities will have the power to search your electronic devices without a warrant and the power to confiscate it on ground of SUSPICION. No proof needed.
No they won't. Last I checked, the bill of rights was still in effect. :v:
animal abuse sickens me, and just because you can get used to it doesn't make it good out of nowhere.
It sickens me too, I don't like it at all.
Now, that still doesn't make it a bad website. That just makes /b/ bad.
You're all worrying now, but the next week or even the next day you'll forget about this crap and live on.
Sorry, hot linking images from StarKeith.net is not allowed.
Like, seriously, u have to think waaaay bigger than /b/.
Youtube could nevar continue to exist in the way it does now.
Your government has the ability to block "inappropriate" websites. That's censorship, ffs.
It could harm 3rd world countries relying on cheap medicines. These would be seized the moment they are shipped through any participating country where there's a patent for a similar medicine.
As i've said before, stopping piracy is a good thing. But this is not the way to go.
That there is a good point

animal abuse is worse than human abuse?
what
Really the only ones that should be held responsible of piracy are those that seed or host illegal files.
IE: If I download MP3s from skreemr.com, which seems to be a legit site. Should I take the fall if I thought it was a good site?
(Also, skreemr gets their music from other hosts, making it a script really like google search.)
Furthermore, all piracy laws on the internet are bullshit anyways. You chose to release on an insecure platform, you chose to take the consequences. We can't be there to bandage every little boo-boo you get.

There is no such thing as a secure platform when it comes to music. At some point the sound has to leave a speaker and travel to your ear. At that point it can be captured at an almost identical quality. Short of beaming the music directly into someone's brain there is nothing we can do.
animal abuse is worse than human abuse?
what
humans are more capable of defending themselves. Not saying that it makes animal abuse worse than human abuse, but animal abuse is generally more brutal and disgusting because they are helpless creatures that can't defend themselves well.
