gonna bite them in the ass when a competitor rises eventually
Who could compete with google?
i like it because i can change my display name to whatever i want now instead of my terrible 10 year old youtube name
I can't delete my old as fuck account I made when I was 13 with my real name on it no matter what I do because of all of the weird stuff YouTube does with Google+. [editline]29th January 2016[/editline] Oh shit I still have it linked under my Avatar. Thank god I got rid of the cringey meme videos I made in 2008.
Finally, the youtuber ride is coming to an end! [sp]tgwtg fans, please dont take that so seriously.[/sp]
Why does this shit happen to creators I like and not prankers that molest random women?
Why does this shit happen to creators I like and not prankers that molest random women?
I personally got worn out with Doug, but I agree. I still like Spoony, but he's not going to be affected by this anyway because he doesn't make shit anymore. And some of his youtube uploads are butchered already by copyrighted music being taken out or quickly replaced by youtube.
Dougs kinda making a comeback. Channel awesome as a whole has been pretty terrible though

I noticed after all these years, YouTube has yet to get it's act together.
The real problem is that there is no competitor. Same with Facebook, same with reddit. They can do whatever they like and people just accept it because they either can't go anywhere else or don't want to. Competition breeds innovation, but no one is brave enough to help create the David against Goliath.
Marki and Pewds are part of Polaris. So yes. Yes they do.
And Polaris is part of Disney so they're practically immune at this point. Same reason why Jontron was able to do videos on star wars and not have to worry about copyright infringement. If he was still fully independent his videos would have been taken down in a week.
Things like this make me wish there as an equally powerful competitor to YouTube. I mean where do you go if your channel gets taken down? Dailymotion?
What sucks is it's practically impossible to create a competitor site. YouTube is a giant.
What sucks is it's practically impossible to create a competitor site. YouTube is a giant.
I would love to say that it's possible for someone like Microsoft but you just have to take a look at Bing.
I'll never forget, Owen.
I was just kinda skimming the thread and this startled me. My real name is Owen. What the fuck dude

fucking pathetic, yt. lmao [editline]29th January 2016[/editline] 3 weeks if you use the "proper" system less than a day if you make a fuss about it

That stuff is on their front page constantly, along with a bunch of standard anti-fem stuff. Pretty creepy. They even made an imgur alternative called Slimgur. So...so much for that.

So...so much for that.
The only reason Voat got made was for the freaks and creeps who populated the racist/fat hate/pedophile/in one case unironic advice on how to rape women subreddits to flock to because they were """"""""""censored"""""""""" so it's not surprised the users are those sort of crazies
Voat was actually made before Reddit started to crack down on the racism and fat hate. It was just bad luck for Voat that all the racist and fat haters went there.
The main problem with alternatives to social sites like reddit, youtube, facebook, etc. is that a big part of their appeal is the size of their user base. So even if you have a better competitor there's still a big incentive to not move.
This is sad because I tried to report Jinx's videos for unwanted and repeated spam, and apparently in small text they have "staff checking over reports 24/7." I pretty much implied that YouTube likes sucking Jinx's cock with my complaint and said that all his videos are breaching the community guidelines. But I guess that automated system is going to be the judge right?

isn't Super Bunnyhop the only guy who got a reason as to why is video was taken down/put back up online?
is'nt the youtube user super bunnyhop the only guy the to a reason as to why is video was taken down/put back up online?
what?
is'nt the youtube user super bunnyhop the only guy the to a reason as to why is video was taken down/put back up online?
That was a completely unrelated issue and unprecedented that YT even personally stepped in.
Why does this shit happen to creators I like and not prankers that molest random women?
This is only going to happen to people who review/criticize content such as movies, tv, people, and other things.
Classic Game Room is hit too. What the fuck is going on at YouTube?

What the fuck is going on at YouTube?
I have to wonder if this is illegal at all, probably not, but it feels like it could/should be because this fucks over people's livelihoods
I have to wonder if this is illegal at all, probably not, but it feels like it could/should be because this fucks over people's livelihoods
Its illegal to use the DMCA system to silence critics.
Honestly I hope someone makes an alternative that actually genuinely hurts youtube I wish to see a mass exodus away from youtube I wish to see youtube really, really hurt because of how awful its getting for content creators I wish to see youtube really pick their shit back up and get it together and stop fucking up so badly I wish to never again see such an embarrassing copyright system, ever, and wish automatic reports never again would be used I wish this post was more than just a hypothetical fantasy [editline]30th January 2016[/editline]
Its illegal to use the DMCA system to silence critics.
doesn't stop people from trying
Google needs to be broken up its LONG over due, Google right now is arguably more powerful than previous corps who go the anti trust stick
No one knows how to deal with this thing yet since web industries are still pretty damn new, so there's no precedent for a ubiquitously large web company. It's just not as clear as it was with shit like AT&T [editline]30th January 2016[/editline] This is really just a big example of how internet law is still kind of the wild west, it's uncharted, exploited and the government is too technophobic/caught up in bullshit to pay attention to it
