So then my question is virwox trustworthy? I see they have some fees for converting money but id rather use that then ebay.

I deposited money onto VirWox with a debit card, changed it to Linden dollars (Second Life currency) and then to bitcoins, which took like five minutes. I was then able to send it to a bitcoin address, but that took a couple of hours because they sometimes manually check things like that.

I used Virwox a couple times. It works, but there is 48 hour delay and a LOT of fees. I believe Turing is selling BTC. I bought some off of him a while ago. Try PMing him. The best way to buy BTC with Paypal is to just find a friend or someone you trust who's selling. There really isn't any other way.
Wish I could buy some coins right now I have 250-300 dollars ready for it.. Also please don't shout out peoples usernames who are selling bitcoins just pm people about it..
Holy shit bitcoin went down a bunch in the past two days
Yeah, it seemed to like to stabilize around 100/coin.
If I could I'd probably buy now because my guess is that it will go back in the hundreds.

A good way to get a little more for your money or make up in fee's is to try to buy when the price drops below the weighted avg. SR goes by the Mt. Gox weighted average, so if you can get in way below the average your coins will be worth more on SR than the bitcoin market.
Don't know if you go by this, but its a little trick i realized.

I believe that while in short-term it may bounce back slightly to the hundreds we still haven't reached the summer floor yet and won't for some time. It is my opinion that the price will go down even lower in the mid-term (timescale of a month or two), possibly to hit a floor in the 70's or 60's, but in the longer term we might see a bull rally and a major upwards push once summer is over and the speculators have come home from vacation ready to trade.
This is why I am currently keeping my money in fiat with some day-trading during high-fluctuation moments, usually after a whale dump and the subsequent price drop causing frequent shifts from rather predictable highs and lows until it stabilizes. Once summer is over we'll hopefully see a trend reversal and in such case I will buy back in fully and once again hope for the moon. Until then I advise everyone to proceed with caution.
Of course nothing is certain with the bitcoin market and your guess is as good as mine. This is just my 2 btc :)
I guess im waiting another week or two then before buying any bitcoins.
Yeah, those triple digits ain't coming for some time

So I had to verify an account on a UK bitcoin exchange using photo ID and bank details, is it still safe to deposit straight to SR or should I bounce them around between a few free wallet programs before putting them on SR?
So does anyone know a good working bitcoin purchasing site via cash deposit? Bitinstant has been super temperamental lately and Bitstamp doesn't really do cash deposits...

Market manipulation? I think it is mostly because of MTgox's USD withdrawal problems that got fixed recently. Bear market will keep going for a while though.

Whales dumping huge amounts of coins causing panic and driving the price down by a good $5-10 is market manipulation in my books.
It may not even be intentional (although if you ask me, if one has that amount of money to spend on bitcoin they know what they're doing) but it is manipulation nonetheless.

that sounds so sketch i hope you did not go through with that and i personally don't understand why people are making it evident that they participate in this

The trouble with buying in the UK is that there is next to no bitcoin exchanges that deal in GBP, there are several european exchanges but with the small amount of btc I would want to buy the international transfer fees are just not worth it. I was using BitBargain.co.uk for a while but they started asking for user verification. From what I can see, now that governments are cottoning on to the BTC currency, more site operators are being asked to prove they're not involved in money laundering so they ask for I.D.
I agree with you it sounds sketchy, but i'm kind of left with no choice :/.
Also a point of note, i've not bought any bitcoins since they asked for verification.
give em a fake id fake pic?
northfall situation kinda tricky
find a middleman if its worth it like a dude in poland who you can pay by aending some product too or pay via paypal from profits ,if no profits then just send some product back

Yeah mostly caused by bitinstant which is fixed...well for me now. Oh yeah mtgox had the issue too.
is silk road still safe and reliable? I've never had enough to money to buy a good order from it but I really want to spend a whole check on hash or someshit haha.
Yeah mostly caused by bitinstant which is fixed...well for me now. Oh yeah mtgox had the issue too.
BitInstant doesn't have anywhere near the amount of influence over the price as MtGox. In fact I doubt it has much of an influence at all.
In other news, Bitcoin is going up. Dead cat bounce or trend reversal? I guess only time will tell. I don't think we've seen the bottom yet though.

Silkroad is safe and reliable, but not all vendors might be. Which is why you buy smart, look at vendor ratings, previous activity and comments before buying.
Well before mtgox went freaky bitisntant went down then all the sudden all the btc prices dropped from it...Im sure it was both of em combined.

Depends on your country of residence really.
USA
USA
Damn, i'd say you can still use websites like Mt Gox and Bitinstant but you absolutely 100% need to wash your bitcoins with an online tumbler first. The authorities are getting very cosy to those guys.
wash my bitcoins? tumbler? Bitcoin shit's always been really confusing to me.
So I recently started using Bitcoins.
Mindtwistah, think you can add me on steam or some other program and help me out with the whole thing?
Actually, anyone experienced with them. It would be appreciated.
