Silk Road - Your Local Drug Dealer Is Now a Computer

So how exactly is it that sellers get fucked over in these sorts of markets, like the sheep one now? The buyer orders, receives the item and then just doesn't finalize and claims the package never came?

Pretty much yeah, which is why the majority of vendors on SR required you to finalize early if you had less than 5/10/whatever their limit orders.
The FBI even concluded that the drugs they bought on SR were cheaper and of higher purity than what they could get on the street. The entire premise of an operation like SR spits in the face of prohibition. I don't even know how the FBI can justify prohibition after seeing what SR has become, and essentially how safe it is.

Because of the transparency you get with BTC, you can actually monitor the wallet the feds are storing the seized SR coins in.

People are leaving small donations along with notes for the FBI.
This doesn't mean shit to the prohibition crowd, only that "oh no the drugs are now SUPER STRONG and cheaper so the druggies can get high ALL THE TIME for pennies and overdose super-easy!" (see the oh-so-common "marijuana is stronger now than it was when I was young" argument).
Also thanks for that wallet link, this is hilarious
I searched for my SR address in that FBI wallet...
fuck this shit no way am I using any of the replacement sites I am panicking like a motherfucker now
Well, I ordered my package seven or eight days ago. I'm getting kind of worried... last time this seller had super quick shipping. I doubt it's going to be a controlled delivery or anything, but I'm just hoping it arrives at this point. I know it's often a long wait and I hope that's just the case here.
Day 10 of no package. I paid for 3-7 day delivery. If it doesn't arrive Monday I'm just assuming it's never going to make it here.

They are not going out after people, not even the dealers.
The eagle has landed.

Thanks for letting me know.
Much love,
The FBI
So, is Sheep the general replacement site now? I've been planning on ordering something from SR, and then it shuts down.

It sure looks to be heading that way with the current growth rate but there is still a lot of uncertainty, especially regarding potential security issues with SMP as well as the paranoia of federal honeypots.
Any big news could change the development of this situation entirely in a heartbeat so there is no certain "general replacement site" as of yet.

I like you Mindtwistah because you are a very useful and concise man.

It's too risky right now, as mean as it might sound (and no offence to FPers) I'm going to let the stupid kids desperate for drugs and the addicts do their thing for a couple months before I decide on a new one
the only winning move in this shitty FBI governed game is to delay the entire game
i watched a cnn report on this, fucking hilarious. They kept on saying 'the dark side of the internet' and other shit to make it seem edgy and whatnot, they went on to talk about the assassination listings and other stuff that were specifically prohibited as if it was the focus of the site. Nothing short of what I expected.

I find it funny when people are surprised by more pure drugs. Its like the natural progression of things, what do they expect drug purity to do as overall technology gets better? I get how prohibition increases purity through demand, but the same thing would happen if a large corporation was heading it. Sure you've got your beers and winecoolers but you've also got the demand for hard liquors and everclear.

I didn't browse and price things very much on SR, and never got around to purchasing anything, but it looks to me like a lot of the Sheep vendors are taking advantage of the new hole in the market. I noticed they wanted anywhere from $150-400 for a gram of heroin in varying qualities, whereas I remember there being $100 grams on SR and then good shit for like $200-250
If you looked like a week ago on sheep, and then now on sheep. Theres so many more things for sale than before.
So the package I ordered didn't come today... I'm assuming it's just not going to arrive. It's been like 12 days now after paying 3-7 day shipping and it's post-shut down. Sucks, I was really hoping I could get muh things.

4 people have been arrested from the UK today
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-24443216
at the bottom of the article this new NCA are trying to get the public against it "traded firearms (well yeah.. at the start... but not for the last year) and child abuse images(???????)"

should people be worried?
I dont think small time buyers should be worried
But Im definitely not risking using BMR, Sheep or any others for a very long time. It sounds like the NCA is specifically targeting stuff like this.
Fucking sucks, the safest way to buy the safest products, these systems laugh in the face of drug prohibition.

How are you supposed to trust the system if its obviously acting full retard?

Then they win, those 4 people will have been stupid as shit and this is a perfect time to scare the shit out of people doing things they can't control.
Don't use fuckin windows, encrypt everything and carry on as normal.

Just because I'm out of the loop, what's wrong with windows, more specifically?
(Also, I assume that accessing TOR from an Ubuntu virtual box on win7 is fine..?)

Tails on a read-only DVD
Most of the Silkroad dealers went to black market reloaded so if you guys want anything go there.
Have fun :)

most tor exploits only run in windows
Linux without root is much safer
Use PGPP always too.
Would you guys recommend BMR or SMP? SMP is way better organized imo and BMR looks like a host of scammers and illiterates, though I've heard BMR is legit while some sketch out about SMP? Suggestions?
Rate informative if you think SMP is better and rate useful if BMR is better
P.S. Is Ubuntu an acceptable form of Linux to avoid tor exploits?
P.S. Is Ubuntu an acceptable form of Linux to avoid tor exploits?
Any Linux is acceptable Linux, as long as it's up-to-date and you don't log in as root.

Ive read that the guy behind sheepmarketplace is really uncarefull and one could probably find the guy easy.
But thats irrelevant if you dont care about the guy behind the site
