Though this is unrelated to Silk Road it involves bitcoins and I think it's a pretty cool idea. "Vancouver will be home to the world’s first Bitcoin ATM when a Vancouver start-up installs one at a downtown coffee shop on Tuesday. The automated teller machine will dispense the Bitcoins in exchange for cash and cash in exchange for Bitcoins, the cybercurrency that’s used for buying everything from coffee to cocaine and web services to fitness workouts."
I didn't realize coinbase would take a week to give me bitcoins. That's stupid, it's literally faster to send a money gram across the country than it takes for them to make an online transaction. And it gives me the bitcoins a week after I bought them. Which means I got fucked. At least campbx takes a week and THEN you buy bitcoins.
I dont see how you got fucked since its been going up recently. If anything you made money, right? You bought a certain amount for the price at the time of purchase.

It could have turned out very differently if the market crashed. 1 week is a long time to have no control in the bitcoin market.

Takes a couple days to ship to them, then another 3 to process and fund your account? Never used campbx, but i'm curious
Damn guys, we're going to the moon.

Never used campbx, but i'm curious
2-3 days to get to them and 1-3 days for them to process it, so you have to have some planning, but they only take 0.5% for it.

apparently silk road is coming back http://motherboard.vice.com/blog/good-news-drug-usersthe-silk-road-is-back
there is still hope in the dread pirate
ITS BACK BABY
Does anyone know if this is a new Dread Pirate Roberts or is this Ross somehow?
I don't think it could be Ross. He's still in prison and he has no access to a computer while there.
He has a computer in his brain powered by glucose. It's wifi is powerful.

I smell honey. [editline]6th November 2013[/editline] As in: this is probably a honeypot (FBI op). Don't buy for a while.
Gonna wait and watch what with all this NSA shit
Not sure why I'm so dense now but I'm so sick of people calling honeypot without doing some research, its not the same Dread Pirate Roberts, but a lot of the team of the old silkroad is on it from the article. Either way it shouldn't matter much if its a honeypot, worst case you loose bitcoins assuming you use encryption like you should. Assuming every illegal marketplace could be compromised is the only way to stay safe. The reason to not buy there is to wait for vendors to get rep so you don't get scammed.
If anyone's actually seen the movie you'd know that Dread Pirate Roberts isn't just one guy, it's a name passed on for each generation. Makes for a pretty neat little analogy I think, seeing as the new guy running it inherited the name.

Does anyone know if the new silkroad site does a tumbling wallet or whatnot like the old one did? Do I need any new security measures?
Having never had a chance to buy on the old Silk Road, I've just today receieved my first purchase from BMR. I don't intend to use the new Silk Road any time soon.
Whats wrong with the new site?
Whats wrong with the new site?
Well many online users are claiming its a FBI sting operation to get more vendors and buyers. Don't know how much I believe that though. It was created by the mods of the original silk road, and many people come to the conclusion that everything from the first silk road marketplace is compromised.
