Interesting, the market is at equilibrium, bulls and bears are in complete balance.
Apparently Mt.Gox did some heavy crackdown on the trading bots as well which explains why volume is so low and fighting has come to a halt.
Short-term I wonder where it's gonna go from here, there needs to be a slightly major event to signal a push in any direction. But I think we're going to have stability for a time. Which is good as stability looks good to future investors who are still in doubt (e.g., the Chinese).
Long term I'm holding for China.
So how does one access silk road and what not? I understand how bitcoins work but I've never delved into the black market part of the internet.
download and install tor browser bundle, and in the tor browser type in "silkroad vb5 piz3r .onion" (without spaces and quotes)
The rest should be self explanatory
So I tried to go make a deposit at cvs today.
Screw that damn red phone, I had only like 10 minutes to do this shit but those menus were annoying so I just gave up.
Guess I'll just do it tomorrow
Are there any websites that will take prepaid gift cards for bitcoins?
There are some sellers on silkroad that do
Is SilkRoad down for everybody or is it just me?
Is SilkRoad down for everybody or is it just me?
It's probably just you because I just finalized on something.
just found out I had 0.14 btc left over in my account from last year when I wouldn't have been able to buy shit with that, got myself 1g of hash with it now
[editline]20th May 2013[/editline]
if the market suddenly booms i'm gonna be pissed
I doubt it will boom enough to where it would make a huge difference on .14 bitcoins by the time you get your hash
I would be careful when messing around with the BTC and deepweb as there are hitmen you can hire and will be hired against you if you mess around too much
Can someone explain to me how bitcoins work?
I would be careful when messing around with the BTC and deepweb as there are hitmen you can hire and will be hired against you if you mess around too much
You're not the fucking titty king.
So I heard this shit was taken down by a hacker, I reinstalled windows and haven't gotten TOR because I don't know if SR is even up. Someone give me the low-down.
It's still up, constantly under attack but that's just part of reality when you're running a high-profile drug dealing site like that
The Road stays strong through all that shit though
Silk Road is a true hero
Dread Pirate Roberts and his team are true heroes. They're keeping the site strong from non-stop attacks and thousands of hackers trying to find exploits while being hunted down by almost every government in the world and probably living in hiding in the middle of buttfuck nowhere Siberia or some shit, all for the people's freedom to buy and sell drugs in an open market.
They're the drug heroes of our time, fueled by 21st century technology.
is it safe enough to deliver to your house? Or should I deliver it to a friends?
is it safe enough to deliver to your house? Or should I deliver it to a friends?
Well I've ordered enough molly to make me some sort of kingpin in my small town. So yeah.
is it safe enough to deliver to your house? Or should I deliver it to a friends?
If your super paranoid go for it but I allways deliver to my house without any issues watsoever so 99.99999999% chance will be golden but do you really wanna fuck your friend over on the off chance that .00000001 bites you in the ass? Idk never saw much sense in that whole "Send it to a friends house/not your residence" thing cause if something does go wrong I dont want anyone else going down for shit I did...
is it safe enough to deliver to your house? Or should I deliver it to a friends?
If you order domestically and the vendor is good at packaging (they usually are) there is no risk. However internationally it might be seized depending on how strict your customs are, what you are ordering and where you are ordering from.
Fuck yes!
Bitcoin is now decentralized. Mt.Gox has lost the game as its volume has fallen below 50% while Bitstamp (the sexiest exchange) is rising up soon to become the number 1, but will hopefully control less than 50% of the market when all this is over. Centralization is never good for a supposedly decentralized economy.
Ask walls are being eaten away like its breakfast, even Bitstamp has pushed through the [del]$125[/del] [del]$126[/del] $127! wall as I'm typing and Mt.Gox is going for [del]128[/del] 129!!!. We're officially in a bull market again, people!

Even without a China bubble now is a great time for investment
What is the best method for buying bitcoins in the UK for use in SR? Also it needs to be a method where I can buy 0.18 BTC without being forced to buy them in large amounts or being charged heavily.
oh wow i logged into my old mt gox account, forgot i even had that

Nice! I thought you lost all your bitcoin-earned cash when LR got busted :o
Protip: MtGox and authorities are very close fuckbuddies. If you have a verified account tied to your person you should preferably send your coins through a bitcoin tumbler or at least one or a few random wallets before you send it to your SR account, and preferably also create a new SR wallet on on the website's account settings so yours can't be tied to any previous drug purchases you may have done there. SR has a built-in bitcoin tumbler so you don't have to worry about money being tracked from your SR wallet to another vendor.
Although 20 coins isn't really a large enough amount to warrant a police investigation you can still never be too safe.
If you're gonna withdraw funds your best option would be to go with private buyers you can trust to send cash in mail or better yet meet you up irl with the cash, but if you can't find enough then don't use MtGox for it. Just buy the amount of bitcoins you want to withdraw and send them over to a Bitstamp account, withdraw from there. MtGox has high fees and oftentimes ridiculously long waiting times (up to months) for withdrawals.

nah man i only lost 10k on LR
i mean it sucks but isnt too big of a hit
Damn, as usual I missed out on all the action while I was fucked up :v:
Yesterday someone put up a $1M ask-wall at 126. It was eaten up in seconds. Everyone panics! In 30 minutes there are over $3M coins sold and suddenly bitcoin is on a rollercoaster. AFAIK they fell all the way down to 115 before bumping all the way up to 129 and now down at 122-ish. The 120 support has been tested and proven though so hopefully it won't go below that before it starts climbing again, but we might just stay at this level for a while. It'll be interesting to see what happens on Monday and Tuesday once fiat starts pouring in.
It's amazing how easily someone with a few million to spare can manipulate the market and temporarily break the upwards trend.
At least it's reassuring to know bitcoin is strong enough not to crash from such a big sell-off. If this was 2011 and $3M were dumped that fast we'd be looking at sub-dollar coins lol
And now more money is going from the weak hands who panic sold to the stronger hands, making the market even more stable. Brick by brick..

Shit I might just have to eat what I said about the 120 support... it's not there at all!
Where the fuck are the bulls at??
We might be going lower people
I like your updates on how the bitcoin is doing. Thanks.
