Now he's begging for R* to send another key for him. jesus christ
lol "split second"
lol "split second"
yeah, split second my ass, the steam key message popped up in the corner and was there for ten seconds or more. Even if it was on for a split second someone could have gone back, paused it, and gotten it anyways. Christ what a dumb move [editline]13th April 2015[/editline] Wait I just realized he had it up for a full minute, holy shit how dumb do you have to be??
Honestly he should've taken the "Key notification" as a red flag considering that he was streaming when it popped up.
Has this guy not used Steam before? Steam will always display your key the first time unless it's a Valve game.
Not every game displays a key. Just bought Dues Ex: HR, Bastion and even Mortal Kombat ok plate edition, all of which didn't display any keys. I've only noticed this "Key Notification" on modern Rockstar Games I.E. GTA IV, Max Payne 3 , And of course right now GTA V. I think Steam only displays keys when it's a game that have Keylike DRM or separate DRM Programs.
Honestly it is pretty stupid how Steam keeps trying to shove your CD Key onto the screen. If I remember correctly you have to close 3 fucking windows all showing your CD Key and ensure you have checked "Don't show me again" on them all as well.

But as a streamer this is easy to circumvent by hiding that part of the screen with an overlay or better yet by actually preparing properly before starting the sodding stream instead of trying to rush a video out like a retard and lose your game in the process.
Wonder if he got another key...
Wonder if he got another key...
Checking his channel he's playing GTA V, so yea it's assumed so.
Prob just bought another, honestly, I doubt Rockstar would send this guy another. I hope he had to pay for another, he lost his fair and square.
Prob just bought another, honestly, I doubt Rockstar would send this guy another. I hope he had to pay for another, he lost his fair and square.
At most they probably deactivated his key and issued a new one to his account.
At most they probably deactivated his key and issued a new one to his account.
Considering R*'s published support ticket wait times are 3-5 months, he bought a new key.
I don't get why people feel the need to stream every second of their lives.
No one stole anything, he gave it away.
No one stole anything, he gave it away.
nope... he straight up didn't
No one stole anything, he gave it away.
did you watch the same video? or did you sperg out and click something entirely different?
No one stole anything, he gave it away.
I was thinking of how this could be seen as giving it away, since usually when people are doing give-aways with CD keys, they display them on screen and it's first-come first-serve, and state that they're giving it away. But this is more like someone leaving their wallet on a table in a restaurant and then having someone just swipe it. Just because it's there and easy to grab doesn't mean you have the right to take it.
No one stole anything, he gave it away.
He gave it away the very same way you give a random dude your debit card PIN number because he looks over your shoulder and watches you enter it without you noticing.
He gave it away the very same way you give a random dude your debit card PIN number because he looks over your shoulder and watches you enter it without you noticing.
this is more akin to yelling out your social security number at the bank. [editline]14th April 2015[/editline] and then asking for a new social security number
Prob just bought another, honestly, I doubt Rockstar would send this guy another. I hope he had to pay for another, he lost his fair and square.
I get that he's a fucking idiot, but I think "fair and square" is a bit drastic. They did steal his game that he paid $60 for, that's hardly fair and square. Stealing from somebody who didn't take any precautions to protect it isn't the same as earning. obviously Rockstar shouldn't be held responsible, but there's no way you can swing this in which the person who stole it was actually in the right.
This recent streaming craze never ceases to amuse, so many new ways to screw with people or for others to display their idiocy.
nope... he straight up didn't
The point I was making is that he did not truly "give it away" but when you start a stream with the possibility of a couple hundred people watching you and you display your serial before activating the game yourself on a non delayed stream or censored screen, you are ASKING for someone to just take it. Hence he gave it away.

I mean if it's a videoblog then why exactly wouldn't he be on the video thumbnail?
