Well, what about the gameplay demos for Colonial Marines? They sure as shit didn't resemble the final product.

They're Irrational Games, cool. Whatever. Doesn't make them any less likely to release a bleh-quality game that could not possible live up to the hype.
With all the shit that's been going on in the industry, "trust" is just misguided fanboyism.
One game comes out much worse than expected.
Ergo, ALL games will come out worse than expected.
Yup.

There is 'shit going on' in every industry that grows larger than one or two niche products. There's shit going on in every facet of everybody's lives. Trust will always be a 'misguided fanboyism' - that's sort of the entire definition of trust; letting ourselves rely on somebody to give us what we want or need based on good things that we've seen this person do before, which as we all know is never guaranteed to be an accurate indication of their future behavior
I may have came.
still think the beast of america trailer was better

The point is you shouldn't get hyped for something until you've actually seen enough about it. We've had a bunch of pretty looking videos and 15 minutes of gameplay that is pretty much identical to Bioshock 1.
There still a lot of room to fuck something up. 90% of the time, hypetrains are a one way ticket to disappointment.

I think the problem here is that alot of us are just used to so much disappointment, mediocre, and controversy around alot of games that looked or were great until some time later when they got less fun.
But Infinite, is different. It's just a personal feeling here, but it's like for once, everything is coming together perfectly for once, a respectable developer, colorful graphics, fun gameplay, and best of all, a story that actually has me invested and intrigued for once, instead of just amused.
I understand it's hard nowadays, after stuff like WarZ, and Aliens: Colonial Marines, to take a truly unique game like this seriously, it's like trying to figure out if an oasis in the middle of the Sahara is either a mirage or the same thing.
Above all else though, the game isn't going to be out until a few weeks, as February is ending and March finally begins the countdown. So until then I can't say much about this game myself, other then what I've viewed from following this ever since the very first teaser back in Spring of 2009.

These videos are suppose to make you get hyped and want to preorder the game.
If you've already bought it, they've won. They've learned that they can make money off of consumers based on nothing but edited trailers and fancy E3 demos. Don't trust them, no matter how pretty they looked. I made the same mistake with Dead Island (even though that game was fine, just not as cool as the teaser made it out to be) and Colonial Marines on my PS3.
You can't just say that Bioshock Infinite is different, you don't know that. What are you basing this off of? Cinematic gameplay demos that were made to hype you up? Trailers that make you want to pre-purchase the game? They're fancy to make you want to buy the game. Note that some of the game examples below were pretty rad games, but you can clearly tell they dressed it up for hype/marketing/whatever.

Do yourself a gigantic favor and don't buy the game until you know how well received it is. Chances are the game will have a review embargo like Colonial Marines did, so you won't be able to get a general idea of the quality of the game by looking at reviews until it's too late. Wait until a day or two after the game comes out, watch videos from people on YouTube, then buy it. You don't need an exclusive in-game gun or a digital artbook or some shit. You don't.
Do you REALLY want to risk your 60 bucks on something that may or may not suck total ass?
[editline]19th February 2013[/editline]
My point isn't that all game devs/publishers are out to scam you, it's just that preordering games is not worth the risk. You barely miss out on anything when you don't preorder a game.
Or you know the person can buy the game and decide for themselves instead of having to rely on reviews

The Far Cry 2 one doesn't make any sense, the final build looks a lot better than the E3 one. I still don't see how the hell people think the E3 version looked a lot better, the only thing it had more of was scenery, but the final build is a lot more detailed than it.
E3:

Don't even say it's just video compression because if you watch the video it's pretty obvious it doesn't look as good. You're just paranoid after the whole Aliens fiasco.

It's kind of cool how they mix two different album versions too, the acoustic and studio versions really compliment each other.
Nico Vega, if anyone was wondering.

Holy fuck I had the studio version and had no idea there was an acoustic version. I was wondering why it didn't have that groovy as fuck part from the end of the video.
Ken Levine said "I'd say it's very much like BioShock 1 in terms of length and replay. Perhaps a bit more, because we have this very large selection of gear and vigor and weapon upgrades. There's another kind of replay value which is more story oriented"

That's interesting. I had no desire to play through Bioshock 1 more than once.
That's not a bad thing at all, it's just that some games give a great experience and a great narrative that can only be fully experienced the first time. See Portal 2, for example.

It is and it was done on purpose.
There is a womans voice I recognize half way through, who is it?

I think it's Jennifer Hale.
There is a womans voice I recognize half way through, who is it?
I think it sounds like that of Sofia Lamb, but it's a bit off to me to be it.
It is and it was done on purpose.
Done on purpose? Why? It looks awful. That was the only thing I could think about the entire trailer, and it threw off the entire tone of it for me.
They seem to have nerfed the cleavage compared to earlier footage. I shall have to wait for reviews now.

just comes to show when you post before you even look at OP's video, you look as dumb as this.
In fact, this guy obviously hasn't even seen ANY of the videos PERIOD.
[editline]20th February 2013[/editline]
Seriously, every time someones posts without even watching the video, it is just going to be embarrassing to read.
Don't really know why, but I'm really getting a Wizard of Oz feel from this after seeing flying minions and a giant screen with an old man's face on.
I don't see any reason not to get hyped for this. Irrational games has a very good game history.

The story/canon of Bioshock is really interesting. I don't know a ton about either one of them and I've never played any, but the first one was in an underwater city, as was the second, and now this one is above land with steampunkish flying ships and such. It sounds very interesting, but it is confusing.

How is it confusing? This one is completely separate from the first two, they are in no way related canon wise.
lol video co-pilot sounds.
