And that teenager comment is silly, kids were recruited into the Hitler Youth at a young age (10 I believe?) and were most likely still in the Youth when they reached the 14-16 age, there'd be no reason for them to kill teenagers unless they were aiding some sort of rebellion, as they could still be formed into good SS soldiers.

Hitler wasn't a COMPLETE asshole, in fact if you were brainwashed or scared enough to do what he wanted your life would be pretty good in nazi Germany, poverty was virtually nonexistent for the German people. (Unless you were a JEW. Or a Jew sympathizer. Or anything else they didn't like.) He was a brilliant speaker who captivated millions (4.7~ members of the Nazi party at its prime iirc) and he was an amazing artist, but he was a really messed up person near the end of the war, he suffered from schizo and other shit, which was probably a reason why he fucked himself over by not listening to his generals.

Whoops, by Catholics and Protestants I meant priests. They were often sent to concentration camps or killed outright as retaliation for dissent by other priests. For example, the Nazis temporarily stopped their public eugenics programme after some priests (cross-denomination, IIRC) built up a massive resistance to it. If Hitler was a Catholic, he wasn't a very good one. After the Christian uprisings, he created the pagan German Faith Movement. After that failed, however, he used "Kinder Kueche Kirche" in his propaganda aimed at women. He saw religion as a tool to be used to manipulate people.
And yes, the teenagers comment is a reference to the Edelweiss Pirates.
