you can buy a good gaming rig for like $1000 lol
Now, 64 GB of RAM is just going over the top and continuing beyond the horizon.
we need a "cringe" rating
Now, 64 GB of RAM is just going over the top and continuing beyond the horizon.
Yeah, like a car, you only need to get from A to B but some people can afford to buy a Bugatti. This is just the same as anyone that goes out and spends a ton of money on anything. You would do it if you were PC Gamer and I would too. They've got me really wanting to buy something totally overkill one day and not give a single fuck about how it has too much power or how it cost too much. Because fuck it. It will defiantly be fun

There is plenty of fun to be had with a car as powerful as a Bugatti because every bit of horsepower counts towards the fun, but there aren't a whole lot of ways for a consumer put 64 GB of RAM to use in a way that makes a meaningful or even noticeable difference to something like a "mere" 16 GB. This is just upscaling without practical benefit for the sake of throwing out the largest amount of money possible.. That's not something I'd do personally.

[editline]12th December 2013[/editline] multi-boxing for wow lol
Now, 64 GB of RAM is just going over the top and continuing beyond the horizon.
and literally everything else
Now, 64 GB of RAM is just going over the top and continuing beyond the horizon.
coulda, woulda, shoulda got something for a render farm like quadro to go with so they could make next gen coconut monkey models to import into games and make me my damn gravy trader.
I don't think I heard them say anything about a power supply? I'm also surprised they didn't RAID the SSD and/or the HDD. As for the car analogy, a person who buys a Bugatti most likely won't get to use the full potential of the car most of the time. Sometimes they will, but mostly they won't. It's more of a status/showing off thing. I have this car and it can go this fast. But most of the time they won't be going 160+ in it. Same with the PC.
Ehmm, did they mention PSU or was it included in the case? For that amount of connectors you're looking at at least $200.
Now, 64 GB of RAM is just going over the top and continuing beyond the horizon.
IIRC some of the computers at my school that they use for computational fluid dynamics have in the hundreds of gygabytes of ram. think of all the tabs you could have open
$4000 for a graphics card is fucking insane.
it's still dumb, why would you break out mcdonalds applications, it's insulting the video is just dumb from start to finish, it's made by man children for what, what's the purpose of building that monstrosity, because it isn't image uh heh heh our preteen userbase and neckbeard viewers will orgasm over this heh heh heh [editline]11th December 2013[/editline] why do people make stupid comments like this, because someone thinks something is dumb doesn't make them mad over something do you cry when mom doesn't give you allowance or something?
You sound pretty bitter. Even if you wouldn't have made any of the hardware choices PC Gamer has, you should certainly appreciate the "effort" (even if it's blowing $10k online purchasing top-of-the-line computer parts) that went into it, and the results they came up with. Perhaps it takes quite a lot more to impress you--or maybe you settle with a lot less than this. Since you feel so uncomfortable with such ludicrous amount of power, may I suggest you go back to insult little children on Calladoody, on your underpowered PlebStation?
dumb "gamer" pointless, trash made by dumb "gamer" people gaming culture is stupid because of people like this wow this video is just terrible, im impressed by how bad it is; they really must have went out of their way
holy hell who shat in your lasagna
Hell, even for the fuck of it they played DooM on it! [editline]12th December 2013[/editline] Dat aspect ratio :v:

I don't really understand what it is that bothers you. That someone spent their hard earned money on something you personally wouldn't spend anything on?
sounds like they bought shit at ripped off as fuck prices [editline]13th December 2013[/editline] yolo
what the actual fuck four titans why would you EVER need that much power in a PC
To be nitpicking: parallel computation. They even use 6 sometimes, I've seen some crazy rigs in the physics department. I also bet there are more cost-effective cards than this one. But these guys obviously didn't plan on doing any research...
How dare people spend stupid amounts of money on something they enjoy.
This is kind of a stupid notion and repeats the fallacy of Kants categoric imperative because it doesn't account for the fact that a lot of stuff that people enjoy hurts others.
It doesn't even have PCI-E SSDs. Disgusting.
64 G OF RAM
And pro Quake players would still run it at 640x480
Now, 64 GB of RAM is just going over the top and continuing beyond the horizon.
I have 32gb RAM (it was like $30 more than 16gb last Black Friday and it's still over-the-top...)
A lot of people are missing this point lol. Its suppose to be a ridiculously OP system on purpose. They arnt telling you to build this shit only that you can. Its just for shits and giggles.
Unfortunately this is FP and most users here masturbate too much and have emotional issues combined with anxiety, so they don't know what having fun is.
Those people raging: did you even watch or listen to the first thing they pointed out in the video?

Tons of potential but not much use for it.

All that money and they couldn´t afford blue leds for water cooling and red leds for high speed graphicizing [editline]12th December 2013[/editline]
holy fuck I could get a car for that price.
But with that computer you can download a car. Computer 1 - Car 0
This video is going to be a lot funnier in a few years when all this hardware is really obsolete and we're viewing it for nostalgia purposes.
