Hey man, why all the hate?
I don't hate the band, just Anders.
Shut up his dreads are awesome. If you don't like them don't post in the thread.
WHINE! *cut* It's a thread, it's a forum. People post opinions. If it doesn't suit you, then change the password into something you can't remember. And change your email subscribsion adress and GET THE FUCK OUT! Poser.
In my opinion, In Flames were the kings of melodic death metal back in the day, I still think their old stuff beats out At The Gates and Dark Tranquility. The new stuff is catchy, but their older works were nothing short of amazing.
At the gates were the first melodic death metal band. And in my opinion. Anders can't growl. Proof on jester race and whoracle & colony. he really hasn't a good growl, and he was horrible live. The band is / always will be musically talented, but they do not outclass at the gates. period.
I like a few of their songs, but I wouldn't really consider myself a fan. They're pretty good, but they're just not THAT good.
Reroute to remain is my favourite album, Dawn of a new day and System kicks ass
Fucking love this band. Favorite all-time. Colony, Clayman and Soundtrack are my favorites. Is anyone else here a Jesterhead member?
Never used to like them that much, but since I first posted in this thread I've come to like them much more. I actually think Clayman is my favourite album of theirs.
Clayman is quite good. Same with Soundtrack To Your Escape.
this band is amazing [editline]05:47PM[/editline] seeing them in philly on october 4th [editline]05:47PM[/editline]
iondull you won't regret it bro, I saw them with Lacuna coil and some other opening band, they're amazing live and the mosh was heaaaavy. They played some awesome songs.
pinball map is my favourite song.
Clayman is by far my favourite album, solely because of Only For The Weak. I never get tired of it, no matter how many times I listen to it.
and the concert is tonight fuck yeah, i can't wait their setlist is pretty good, and they're touring with the fucking faceless(fuck yeah), 3 inches of blood, and between the buried and me(also fuck yeah) looks to be a fun 3~ hours straight of moshing...especially since i have both a broken toe and a broken nose
Is there a new cd coming out soon?
Is there a new cd coming out soon?
not soon anders said they're aiming for around 2011
Oh sweet. Hope it's better than A Sense of Purpose. To me, that wasn't all that great of an album.
In Flames has always been good, from The Lunar Strain to A Sense of Purpose. I don't know why people hate their new stuff. Sure it isn't as good as what they used to write but it is still pretty damn good.
Reroute to Remain is my favorite. Hands down.
All their stuff is sooo good it is hard to say which are my absolute favorites because it changes. Though the songs Come Clarity and Cloud Connected got me into them. Right now I'm really liking Alias, Only for the Weak, and move trough me but like I said it's constantly changing. My favorite Metal band followed by Disarmonia Mundi.

I'm really torn with In Flames. I've bought and love Take this Life and Crawling through Knives. Yet I STILL don't know whether to pick up Come Clarity. I'm listening right now on youtube, and I like it, but... I'm unsure if it's a little heavy for my tastes. When the lead guy sings, he's amazing. But there's a lot of screaming going on.
Come Clarity isn't their best. A Sense of Purpose makes up for it though.
Lunar Strain was the first album I heard from them and really got me into it. Clayman is their best, in my opinion. I love every god damn song. Bullet Ride and Only for the Weak are my favorites on that. Clayman>Lunar Strain>Reroute to Remain>The Jester Race>Whoracle>Colony>Soundtrack to Your Escape>Come Clarity>A Sense of Purpose
I like Pinball Map and many, many other songs :D Saw them live at Soundwave Festival in Australia. Was pretty damn fun.
They never come to Michigan USA. NEVER!
Anyone seeing them on the Taste of Chaos tour this year? I am due to see them Thursday in London along with Killswitch Engage and I am hoping it is going to be FUCKING INSANE.
I like Clayman the best.

But there's a lot of screaming going on.
Listen to their first album, The Jester Race, particularly the song December Flower. There are no screams or growls the whole song, Anders just joyously serenades the simple joy of frolicking through flowers with one's gay lover. /sarcasm Also, Anders' singing voice is pretty terrible if you ask me, and even his scream is rather whiny sounding. I love In Flames to death, but I have come to terms with the fact that Anders simply isn't as good a vocalist as, say, Mikael Akerfeldt or Johan Hegg.
Anders is pretty amazing IMO. I really like the way he sings. Also I didn't care for Jesters's race all that much. it was really good but definately not my favorite by In Flames.
