was going to borrow Four Past Midnight from a friends parents, but decided against it
did I miss out on a lot?
Definitely. Go get it now.
can't get it now
twenty minutes past midnight
can't imagine what they'd say if I turned up at their house asking to borrow a book
Ugh, reading this thread makes me want to read more Stephen King novels. Maybe I'll go on a SK shopping spree when I'm done with the current books I'm reading.
I bought the Green Mile on holiday really cheap
I knew about the ending and I still cried
Rita Hayworth & Shawshank Redemption is an equally amazing book.
yeah my Dad bought Different Seasons (four short stories by King, Rita Hayworth & Shawshank Redemption was in that)
I liked The Body too
This is a Stephen King thread. If someone doesn't know what stories are in Different Seasons, they might as well stop reading.
AKA You need not waste time explaining what stories are in what.
my apologies your highness
I hope all of you know who Stephen King is, he is #17th best selling author of all time. Sales over 350 million books.
Just yesterday, I finished what I think is his best book, "IT". I was absolutely hooked on the novel, it was all I though about, and all I did. Just read. This is what I think the best book I will ever read. It is just so realistic, the friendship the characters build is so real you almost forget it's fiction. I have read many other of his books, but this one is the best by a country mile.
He is definitely my favorite author, by far.
'twas fucking awesome, though a tad fucked up. The scene [sp]where all the kids fuck Beverly[/sp] was a little too detailed for me, thangyouverymuch. Made me want to read more of his books but I haven't got around to buying another.

Yeah that scene caught me by surprise. I thought her character was different than that.
I got around half-way through The Stand, lost my page, and now I've started again :v:
If you don't read the unabridged version you're not a man.

had no idea there was an abridged version
that's the one I bought :)
Tell em at least it ain't Four Past Midnight!
I'm reading The Running Man right now and it's really good. I'd recommend it if you like King's books.

Poor Georgie. I really liked him..
Georgie was Bill's brother, wasn't he?
I have the uncut version of The Stand (1000-something pages). I don't plan on reading it any time soon.
I read through it across about a two week period ending during first semester exams last year.
:iia:

You read that book right now. Right fucking now.
The Stand is as useful as a book as it is a deadly projectile. It's probably King's biggest book, about 1400 pages.

He sure knows how to fuck a up a good storyline with a giant alien spider in the end, that's for sure.
If you've read IT, you know what I'm talking about..
Meh, I never got into the book, I couldn't read very far into it, it just isn't that appealing to me. The movie's nothing to get excited about either, but it's alright.
EDIT: The ending is fucking retarded though.
