I never thought IT was actually a demonic spider-like creature. Just goes to show you, Stephen King = epic.
My favourite novel by him though would probably be Misery. The movie was awesome.
Fucking ace book. Had me hooked as well.
I love how It(In the movie) Goes Buh-Buh-Buh*Taps jaw with fist* Billay Boooy!
He sure knows how to fuck a up a good storyline with a giant alien spider in the end, that's for sure.
If you've read IT, you know what I'm talking about..
Yeah that was the worst part of both the movie and book
Yeah that was the worst part of both the movie and book
The movie left out the awesome out-of-body part of the fight, would of been so awesome. After listening to the commentary, they wanted to do it, but it was going to cost far too much money.
Have to read this book again, I read it when I was around 12, and can only remember a small part of it (and there were probably some words I didn't understand at the time).
[sp]Although IT, wasn't really a spider, only it's physical form on Earth. It's true self was far away, if it could even be considered a true self. Human minds can't comprehend what IT really is anyway.
Though I agree it ruined alot of what made IT special. It's actually kind of funny how that works, IT uses what you fear the most to kill you, in the book they spend most of it trying to remember/figure out what IT really is as it attacks them in whatever they themselves fear, when you, as the reader, are trying to figure out what IT really is and your imagination runs wild with it. I think that was the real genius of IT, and it get's ruined at the end, but he had to do it I guess. Still thought he could of gone with something better though.[/sp]
Well said my friend. "I AM YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE COME TRUE! I'LL KILL YOU ALL!" - Pennywise
And By the way, how do you do the spoiler tag?

You guys caught the part in Dreamcatcher where Mr. Gray sees the graffiti on the memorial that says "Pennywise Lives," right?
You guys caught the part in Dreamcatcher where Mr. Gray sees the graffiti on the memorial that says "Pennywise Lives," right?
You seemed to be the only one, and no one said anything about it.

I hope I'm not the only one who would love to have a sequel to Firestarter. Only not a sequel, just a short-story that explains the repercussions based on the ending.
never read Firestarter
my Dad said they made sequels to the films, but King had nothing to do with them and they were rubbish
The sequels to Firestarter were abominations.
But the movie itself was fucking amazing.
YOu have mutiple copies of the same books.......
Yes, I do. I buy all the Stephen King books I see at yard sales. You never know when you'll need 7 copies of The Drawing of the Three.
I Have all if his books, minus Duma Key and Just After Sun set, but they're all softcover except for Lisey's Story, and the pop-up book of the Girl who loved Tom Gordon if that counts.
have you read The Talisman venn?
I was thinking about reading that next
That book is fucking great.

I've always wondered how they write it if there's two authors. Do they just sit together at a typewriter and write at the same time, or do they take turns? Does only one actually type it and they both make the story up? I wonder if they fought a lot about it.

I remember reading how they did it somewhere, but it was along the lines of "they take turns, then them and their editors go through it so it has the same writing style throughout."

Oh baw. A few of my books are missing. Probably in my closet or something.
I don't have on my bookshelf: Cell, Desperation, Just After Sunset, or my Dark Tower 7 hardcover
oh yeah and I also have the hard cover to Everything's Eventual and Cell. that's all the hardcovers I have.
Okay let's all post the book we're most proud of owning.
For me it's gotta be the first edition Gunslinger.
Dolores Claiborne: Hardcover Rare Edition Novelization of the Movie based off the Novel
I can't remember the last time I read a book out of free choice, but almost all of my 'books to read' list are Steven King books. I'm thinking of starting with Misery or Salem's Lot.
Stephen King lives about a town away from me. He's like the only famous person from Maine.

Whoah, I did not catch this.
Yes. :v:
You heard when Stephen said she can't write? Huge uproar of fan girls. Pathetic, they only love it because of that faggot Robert Pattinson.
I haven't read the book, but i'm pretty sure that the ACTOR is not on the book.
