Picked up a new multimeter and jackstands this weekend. Feels good replacing old, worn equipment
Usually when we have someone serious about a vehicle that wants it held, we have them put a non-refundable deposit on it. Or, in your case, were they not asking to have it held?
That is probably not even legal in Norway.
This past weekend I changed out the exhaust on my 2015 WRX. I’ve been planning on upgrading the exhaust ever since it was a couple weeks old.
I think the stock exhaust is way too quiet, and with the Sirius XM trial now expired I had nothing to fill the silence anymore. That, in combination with the weather finally starting to cool off, and setting aside money specifically for this, I finally committed to the Nameless catback exhaust I’d been eyeing for months. It came in earlier in the week, and I installed it last Saturday.
It’s super good. This is what the WRX should’ve sounded like out of the factory. What’s interesting is that it’s not so much that the car’s louder, but that it’s louder when you want it to be. It’s actually slightly quieter at idle because the stock exhaust would drone at idle RPM. It’s really nice because when cruising, the car is still very comfortable, just with a deeper exhaust note.
However, when you give it gas, you will hear the difference. Not only is it much louder when wide open throttle, but the sound is deeper, more “rumbley”, and it even pops and burbles when revving high. It’s great. I love it.

Do you guys know what to do with a van roller? No motor or trans, and no title. Not sure if I should sell it for scrap, or if I can donate it to someone. It's just taking up space at this point.
Thanks.

Make it a guest room
junkyard ls motor with nos and trailer it to the drags

Put a motor in the back and make a wheelie van.
Psshh. I wish. I wouldn't even sell the thing for the body. Scrap only. All of the shock points are rusted in, the fenders are eatin out, the shocks are so bad that when we were transporting it, it bottomed out at least 10 times.
The interior is perfect though.

No idea.
At least in the US, it's rather common to do.

junkyard ls motor with 3 times as much nos as previously suggested and do a wheelie twice before it blows up

I like this idea.
Any recommendations for a new tool kit?
I'd like to have a set to take with me as I'll be moving frequently in the next two years.

socket wrenches impact sockets gun air tools screwdrivers application?
Had my exhaust middle part snap from the backside few weeks ago. Had to drive 130km(and that's for one way) without exhaust to get a new one because the parts stores in my city are so shit. My ears hurt now a bit.
Atleast the weather was nice

I too am interested in this, I currently don't really have a set of tools. Just individual tools and some crap. I would like a cart to bring with me to the track when needed. Can anyone recomend a brand that isn't too expensive yet is of decent quality?
Saw a Trans-Am on my way to work yesterday. Had no exhaust, at all. Fucker was LOUD.
What do y'all think about my new ride? :v:

BMW 740 e38 1995.
Got the car for 2100€ and almost everything has been replaced within the last 50000km's.
Oh god guys, I got a dime stuck in my seat buckle and I can't get it out. Help. I've tried tweezers but they don't fit and wedging it out, but I don't want to break anything. Ideas?
And if I try to just replace the the buckle, I need to remove the whole seat and the whole assembly around the gear shift, so id like that to be my last option.

Can you use like a paper clip and shove it in to try and pop it out? If not you're gonna have to pull the buckle off. Not necessarily replace it but maybe shake it around so it falls out.

I'm not the most knowledgeable about this stuff but I was in this position about a year ago. I got a medium-sized socket+ratchet kit, sets of metric and inch wrenches, screwdriver kit, two torque wrenches, and then a few a la carte things (adjustable wrench, pliers, etc)—all Craftsmen.
Honestly a good place to start is to walk into Sears and look around. Pick up a couple basic kits and some other general use items from a name brand. As you work on your car, you'll buy tools as you need them (I got a deep 10mm socket and a lugnut-sized one).
Now me? I need some lifting equipment...

I have a craftsman kit that I carry in my vehicle. Has all common metric and standard sockets, wrenches, alans, 4 sizes of screw drivers, bit driver, extensions, adapters, and some other stuff.
Hasnt failed me yet except when you need a random size metric such as 18mm

craftsman if you can fit it in your budget. otherwise anything made in USA, Japan, Germany, or Sweden is good.

yard sales and pawn shops are the best and cheapest way to get cheap high quality tools
The rims on that 7 series are badass.. the staggered lips, yesss.
I'm not quite sure if this is the place to ask for this, but one of my car's back doors seems to have problems with the locking mechanism. If I leave my car in direct sunlight for even a few minutes the door ajar light comes on and sometimes when I try to lock the door it'll refuse to lock. Is there anything I can do to fix it because its a huge pain in my side
