the trick is to back out very slowly, creep out about a foot before you start backing out properly.
Well, I am going to take the drivers test in about 2 hours with the same instructor, wish me luck. I will try and be 10x more careful.
I passed my driving test first go. Testing here is an absolute joke though, drove out of the licencing center, down the 50km/h street, only got to 3rd gear. Got asked to turn around, reverse parked at the licencing center, passed with full marks. Somehow people still manage to fail 4-5 times.
say whaaat. I've probably told you before but I was taken on a seemingly massive journey for my driving test.
http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/crate-engines/ltg-four-cylinder.html so this is a thing....it's giving me ideas...
I took the test with the same instructor, he gave me 100% even though I am pretty sure I fucked up a couple times with crossing lines, I think he felt bad for me. Yay freedom
Right, maybe you guys can help me. My temp gauge is doing something funny. The needle takes forever to reach the middle, and all while the needle even reaches the first dash, I cant use my steering wheels controls and the HU lights blink. So googling has lead me to believe that I need to replace the thermostat, as the car is taking forever to warm up, but I haven't been able to get an exact answer yet.
What kind of car? If it's 1996 or newer I would slap one of those bluetooth OBD2 scanners on it and have it report the water temperature to you to see if the gauge is accurate. That'll tell you if the thermostat is stuck open (as it's intended to fail) so you don't do a whole lotta work for nothing.
It's a 2004 Volvo V70.
say whaaat. I know some people's tests would last like an hour and they fail, yet others lasting about 5-10 minutes and passing. Probably explains why everyone drives so bad here though.

I really hope you mean the buttons on the steering wheel and not the mechanical things the steering wheel does. If its just the buttons than deal with it. If its the mechanical aspect of the wheel than give it a jerk and SURELY IT WOULD RESPOND. Just replace the thermostat its under 10$ and good insurance.

I meant the stereo controls that are on the steering wheel. [editline]3rd November 2015[/editline] And fuck, since when was a thermostat ~$100? [editline]3rd November 2015[/editline] Oh I get it. It's because of the fucking turbo. [editline]3rd November 2015[/editline] Nope. Just all the big sites sell the whole housing. Had to search ebay to get just the thermostat.
Moment of silence for Mustang Bro Ben. He bought a Audi Convertible, it broke down while being brought home, he got a trailer, put it on the trailer, the trailer's tire blew out afterwards and left both car and trailer on side of the road. The next day he found only the car on the ground and damaged from busting windows and cutting the soft top. Yeeeeeep Worst fears right there. That's why you always be prepared guys. When pulling a trailer ALWAYS KEEP A SPARE TIRE. If your going any distance or anywhere remote remember to either stop and check the hubs if they are warm or keep a spare hub assembly with you.
The real advice here is not not leave a car+trailer on the side of the road overnight. And to make sure you have trailer locks.
The real advice here is not not leave a car+trailer on the side of the road overnight. And to make sure you have trailer locks.
Only way to truly lock a trailer is sticking pipe threw the wheels and in the event the wheels would spin the pipe would hit the leaf springs. Doesn't stop them from taking off the wheels unless you do a double pipe system with a plate covering the lugnuts. But still doesn't stop them from dragging it. I've seen rigs just like a stealth repo rig and they just stick a piece in the A frame to lock it and wrap a rachet around it to keep it together. [editline]4th November 2015[/editline] Trailers are fucking hard to keep safe. With goosenecks the best thing to do is put the landing gear all the way up take the receiver out and lay it on the ground with a tractor. They will spend ~15min attempting to raise the trailer and make alot of noise doing it.
Hey Serj, so I hear you uh make some goods I've been in the market for a Roof basket for my Subaru, do you make anything like that? thanks c:
Of course I do. What kind of Subaru, and what's one the roof already?
rims are cheap, destroying one isn't a big deal, I'd limp it with my hazards on to next exit before I left the trailer. I wouldn't hesitate. Same applies for Gun safes. Would some one give up knowing its bolted to the floor? Nope instead they used a winch truck, ran the line threw the window and yanked the safe out off the floor bolts and pulled it threw the wall and loaded it into the van. Thieves will find ways to get what they want.
250hp at 6,000 RPM, for $9,000... that's rediculously overpriced.
that's msrp though. it's under 7 grand at gmperformancemotor.com also it's 272 hp starting at 5 grand and holding it all the way to redline, and 295 ft/lbs starting at 3 grand and holding it all the way to 4500. that's going to be a real fun motor no matter what you put it in.

Yay freedom
Man dude Alabama DMVs are so fucked up, I first walk in with my Dad and first you have to take a written test. About 5 minutes in waiting for my test we see a dude getting fucking upset that he failed the written test, granted it's piss fucking easy. "Mom I fucken didn't pass again can you give me another 30 bucks?". This dude in particular failed the written test like 5 times in a row. On top of that I died when I saw my instructor. She was a chain smoking cigarettes outside. I kind of wanted to ask her did she smoke because of her job, I would.
http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/crate-engines/ltg-four-cylinder.html so this is a thing....it's giving me ideas...
This is pissing me off, GM has a nice 2.0 4 cylinder turbo engine and we dont see it over here in Opel
Opel have a cooler logo than Vauxhall
Funny thing about it I had to do that test 2 more times after that for receiving safe driving awards. In the Audi it was fucking so simple to parallel park because the passenger mirror automatically folds down so you can see your back wheel. Best fucking feature ever made.
I sometimes do that. Point the mirror down, it's not even a game but I feel like I'm cheating when I do that. [editline]4th November 2015[/editline] The handbrake on this hire car is crap. I keep accidentally backing up with it left up, I only realise I'm doing it when it starts bleeping at me :v: My own car recently failed its MOT because of handbrake not strong enough. WTF my car rears up if I even think about letting the clutch up a few millimeters
My car's e-brake is attatched to two little drum brakes, while the real brakes use disks. There is a little springloaded adjuster on them thats supposed to keep them tight, but a few months ago when I had both axle seals go out and got diff fluid everywhere, they bot all gummed up and I didnt clean them out well enough, so now my e-brake is next to useless until I take the wheels off and manually crank up the adjusters.
So Facepunch, I need your thoughts. I'm thinking about trading in my 2006 Miata to get the girlfriend a newer, more reliable daily driver. She's currently in a 2003 2wd Jeep Liberty w/ 204, 000 miles. That would also result in a lower car payment since my credit is a ton better now. Your thoughts?

Your thoughts?
Is the miata, or liberty still being paid off? If so, trading the 8 year old car in that will likely go straight to auction, and adding on the value of what is not paid for, will add that amount of money to the new car you purchase, so you'd be upside down on the new loan, owing more for the car than it's worth.

If you're going to marry her, and you feel trading your miata is appropriate, then do it.
Been working on the W123 today, just waxing and cleaning and making it nicer. However, the best thing that happened today was my package arrived!! [t]http://i.imgur.com/Hsrkqjx.jpg[/t] Let's zoom in a bit! [t]http://i.imgur.com/A9ONfTr.jpg[/t] "are you kidding me" [t]http://i.imgur.com/hPiUg4q.jpg[/t] That is a scale model (1:43) of my exact car!! Same engine, same interior, carbureted, same colour, it's the same down to the gear stick! haha this is great. :v:

Even with a ring it was a mistake.
