Jesus fucking christ that is so cheap.
It's the cheapest coupe that I've ever seen. Even cheaper than ones with broken aftermarket heckblendes and enough rust in the trunk to make you cry.
Fucking hell. So I've been talking to this guy down in Stavanger about buying his VW Caravelle, and I've planned to fly down there on Friday and give it a final look over and buy it, but when I talked to him on Saturday, he said he'd recently gotten it inspected, and the only problems were the front discs and a stuck rear caliper. Then, yesterday, he told me he was scheduling an appointment at the dealer to get a outer tire rod end replaced, and I thought "oh well, it's not that big a deal, and he's fixing it", now he's saying the car failed on some more points, so I'm now waiting on him to email me the list of stuff that needs fixing.

It's my mom's favorite car. She had the last one for 12 years until it got so bad we had to sell it to some dude that restores them. She's been driving this Peugeot 307 SW since June of last year because she needed a car and wanted something bigger than a regular station wagon. So, since I inhereted a bit of money from my dad, I'm loaning her the money to buy a Caravelle, until I sell the Peugeot.
Oh, I thought it was for you :v:
Little coloumn A, little coloumn B :v: I've missed it too, and I'll DD it for a while until the Peugeot is sold.

Went on craigslist tonight, looking for more family vehicles, and of course what happens... There's a 1965 Dart on there, and it's in the next town over, for $400 with a non-running slant6 which I have no idea how you manage to have a non running slant. I think I have to get it. It's the early A body. I just have to... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/5300691160.html And... a 2 door for only $1,500... what the hell...
Of course I do. What kind of Subaru, and what's one the roof already?
I've got a 2002 Impreza TS Wagon - I've actually got crossbars on order right now for the two rails on my roof. The only problem I have is that my wagon is white, and I'm not exactly sure what would go well with it basket-wise Also does anybody know which struts I can get for my Impreza? I hear the wagons are different. I've been thinking of putting forester struts on it but I have read the guides and I just can't seem to find a place to start, I just know jack shit about suspension :C (I'm willing to learn though!)
Been working on the W123 today, just waxing and cleaning and making it nicer. However, the best thing that happened to day was my package arrived!! [t]http://i.imgur.com/A9ONfTr.jpg[/t] "are you kidding me" [t]http://i.imgur.com/hPiUg4q.jpg[/t] That is a scale model (1:43) of my exact car!! Same engine, same interior, carbureted, same colour, it's the same down to the gear stick! haha this is great. :v:
Just got this in the mail yesterday, they grow up so fast... What a weekend. (tues / weds off of work). It's been 65* here the last 2 days in WI. Instead of enjoying myself and going for a ride/drive, I worked my ass off getting things ready for winter. It all started simple enough.. washed/waxed the NSX. Then I found out if had an oil leak; I could smell it on the exhaust and it was smoking out of the rear of the engine bay. That was scary.. but no big deal, I eventually found a little allen key plug in the head that was wet. After quite a bit of trouble (I have pics, just wait) I tightened it and that seems to have taken care of it. The NSX is ready for winter.. probably going to pull the battery and cover it next weekend. Same with my Buick.. that's good to go, too. The bike has a fresh tank of gas, that's ready to go to sleep as well. My roommate's Talon that we've been doing alll the work on is thiiiiis close. The intercooler is in and plumbed, I did a remote start on it today, put a turbo timer on it (mainly for the voltage readout). Engine bay's buttoned up.. brakes are taken care of. Slapped on a new flex pipe so it runs quiet. The only issue.. it's not charging. Lol. But I have it down to the alternator connector. The wires there are cracked and green, and if I wiggle it just right it'll jump to 13.5v. Perfect, just need to solder on a new connector. Sending him to the boneyard tomorrow to snag up one of those. Then it needs the splash shields installed in the wheel wells and it's done. Out of left field last night I got mobbed to check out another friend's Stratus he just bought for $600 as a beater. It's an '02 with the 3.0L V6 Mitsubishi engine in it. He did plugs and all that shit (but no wires) and now it doesn't start at all. Plugs are soaked.. it has spark. Hm. Pull it all apart, burn the shit off the plugs, and clear out the combustion chambers, then reassemble and try it. OK now it starts and runs pretty shitty; has a hesitation if you snap the throttle. Still, better than it did. Now, keep in mind it has been taken apart *3* times at this point; once to do plugs, once to check they were done right, once by me to clear out the floodedness. Snatched up a spare distributor (built in coil) and a MAF for good measure at the boneyard and stuffed those in. The dizzy seems like it took care of it.. was running strong. I also slapped in a new flexpipe to fix an exhaust leak. Clamped it down and then we ran it over to my house so I could throw a weld onto it to hold it in place better than some clamps. Pulled the negative on the battery and then jacked it up and proceeded to weld. Finished up, then started it up and was showing some friends. Revving it up, then it died. Flat on it's face, no warning. Wouldn't start then. Jesus H Christ. We check some stuff, throw around the idea of the computer getting fucked from welding, but I pulled the battery.. so.. how?! Checked spark, it was there. Checked the fuel injectors with a stethoscope, they were clicking like they should. Had fuel.. the plugs were soaked again at this point. SOooo.. pulled it all apart a *fourth* time and did the procedure to clear out the flooded engine. Back together again and now try it.. and it starts. But now it's running horrible. Got it heated up and it's running like last night again. Exhaust was rich as hell, obviously not burning the fuel well. Seriously?! At this point I'm pretty pissed we never actually changed the plug WIRES... ugh. I didn't realize he didn't change them the first time until today when I asked him and he said no. Well by that time we were changing the dizzy and that seemed to take care of it, and by the time it died later the parts store was closed. I guess it needs to come apart tomorrow to do the wires, too. He said he's gonna get 6 new plugs for good measure, too :v: whatever works. So that'll be a fifth time. Really, really not a big fan of engines where you have to pull the manifold to get to half the plugs. That's my fun time. TL;DR no days off.
I really really hate Fedex and ebay sellers right now, I pretty much ordered all the front suspension for my Civic EF short of axles, brakes, tie rods and radius rod bushings which I've already done. My packages from Rockauto for the control arms and ball joints are "Pending" in Fedex, probably lost somewhere between Oregon and Carson, CA. My USPS package of hubs/bearings is shipping from Puerto Rico despite the seller listing "Mulberry, Florida, United States".... I really want to make the Civic safe to move again.

I'm considering this 2002 mazda protege. Anyone have any thoughts? I need a daily that will potentially take me 20 miles each way to school. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/5288789227.html

But still under manufacture warranty. Only drawback between the two is it lacks roof rails. Im sure serj will fix that for you.

Anyone have any experience with doing that? Obviously if he refuses, it's a red flag.
I need some advice from you guys! I have been thinking to buy something fun, and i got an offer to buy a Mazda RX-8, 2003, 231hp with 68400 miles on it. What do you guys think of this car? anyone here had/have one? anything i should look out for? I need some advice here. I know it is thirsty and loves to consume oil but that doesnt matter, i havent planed on using it as a daily driver anyway, got an Audi for that. So yeah what do you think?

Wtf, it made 13 more horsepower without the turbo than it did with it?
Wtf, it made 13 more horsepower without the turbo than it did with it?
Turbo was mostly just exhaust restriction that forced IATs even higher on an untuned motor that's supercharged with a roots blower. My tuner has a higher compression JDM GSR with a JRSC on it, he retuned it on E85 and found like 40whp on his total heatbreaker of a dyno just by switching fuels and the IAT drop that came with E85. With an aftercooler on K series superchargers you can find the extra 100whp that you just couldn't make before between tuning, fuel changes and boost increase.
Wtf, it made 13 more horsepower without the turbo than it did with it?
it's not tuned for a turbo, the thing is just slapped on. the thing looks to be in rough shape too, god knows if it even works anymore. it may just be an intake and exhaust restriction.
Starting to get a little bit slippery here, not sure if changing tires on the weekend or not. The summer tires worked amazingly well on the slightly icy tarmac today so idk
