Every 300z I've seen in person has been ugly, but every one I see on the internet looks awesome.
They aren't bad looking, but I feel like they're a definite downgrade from the 240/280z
I cant remember the last time I changed the oil in my truck. I saw metallic flakes in the oil when I changed it yesterday... brb wile I go stage a "hunting accident" Ordered a kit fro blackstone labs... Will change oil in 2k miles and see if anything suspicious is wrong... should be in a month or so...
My friend was just telling me today how her mother staged her car getting stolen and set on fire back in the day so she could get out of car payments and get he insurance money.
One thing I've learned as a mechanic needing to get by on minimal tools/makes tools for the job, is that almost anything can be a tool if your imagination is running away. Such as this:[t]https://d114hh0cykhyb0.cloudfront.net/images/uploads/wled-x5-store0.jpg[/t] Just attach the leads (pos to pos neg to neg on those that are polarity sensitive) and it'll do the same job as an injector test light. You can also use a normal 194 wedge base bulb, but those are rated minimum of 12v and some injectors fire as low as 5v making it extra hard to tell if it's actually firing or not.
That's a really good idea, actually. I've never thought of that, stupid noid lights were stuck in my mind. The new noid light in my tool box is now one of the pink 194's I have laying around. Good thinkin homie. Also buddy picked up his Stratus today. Dragged it over to the shop I used to work at so I'm going to have to go bother him to find out WTF was wrong with it when it's done. Mind was melted by the time I was done screwing about with it. Tonight's job of the night was brake lines. Everyone's favorite, made even more fun when it's 40*. Talon #2 got the work. The plan was for it to just sit the winter, but my buddy decided he wanted to drive it (and have it ready for if/when his Wrangler dies, lol). Broke the bleeder screw off of one caliper.. but that caliper was sticking and needed replacement anyways, so that was good. Broke the Autozone brake flaring tool. That was cool. "Good thing it's a rental" right? Finally finished it with my buddy's flaring kit instead. Absolutely horrendous line management under there now, but it's got 2 new rear brake lines and tomorrow it gets a set of pads to replace the ones that were metal on metal from the seized caliper. Then the Talon lives again. That's 2 that are ready to go now. And the 2 Eclipseses are put away for winter officially, too. Edit; Ahaha. Spoke too soon I guess. Winter Talon died this morning on the way to work. Cruising on the highway then it just lost power and my room mate said the exhaust was glowing red. Boy I sure do hope that's a clogged cat.. I sure do hope. Double edit; It was a couple that let go from the intake under boost. That solves that mystery. What a PITA, car makin a man late.
If I were to get a Z31, I'd just import a 200ZR or something that's not in shit condition. The RB20 while being old, slow and hard to find parts for seems like a better deal while being RHD and have 1/5th the miles any cars in the states would have.
Sucks that the 200ZR has that RB20, is uglier, and much harder to shop for
In which way are they uglier? Do you mean the facelift years? RB motors are indeed difficult to find parts for but places like Rockauto should make that pretty easy for most standard maintenance items. Stupid move of the day.. I had the batt out of the NSX and had to roll it onto carpet squares for the winter. I grabbed the spokes and rolled it, we see where this is going. Crushed my hand into the caliper. So that hurt. Iced it and now just chillin. That meaty part below the pinky got the major smush, tender and stuff, but the back of my hand there is feeling ok, so no broken bones I think, just crushed nerves and tenmdons :v:
So, I bought another Beetle :v: It's pretty much just scrap though. I'm just pulling it apart for the parts and scrapping the rest.
Drove to Vegas and back and did some puttering about town and idling today in the F-150. 80mph all the way fully loaded, got 18.2mpg total over about 600 miles. Not awful but not great either. I really shouldn't have goosed it so much uphill.
I did something useful today I changed the license plate lights to LED ones. From this: [t]http://puu.sh/lhJ9g.jpg[/t] To this: [t]http://puu.sh/lhJbg.jpg[/t]
Have any of you ordered from AM Autoparts? I need a new suspension system on my 2002 Honda Civic because the people I bought it from completely cut the springs and what not. I found this: http://www1.am-autoparts.com/Honda/Civic/shocks-and-struts/AM-938342659.html but I don't know if it's legit. Does that seem like a normal/good price for a suspension set? [editline]11th November 2015[/editline] Where do you guys usually get your parts? What website? I also need an O2 sensor for the Honda and an alternator.
Rockauto.com for me. It works fine most of the time.
Rockauto.com for me. It works fine most of the time.
Also with this, if you do a quick google search, RetailMeNot usually has a valid RockAuto code to save a few bucks.
Also with this, if you do a quick google search, RetailMeNot usually has a valid RockAuto code to save a few bucks.
Protip: if you are shopping online and dont use a coupon, you are shopping online wrong. Theres always some shady coupon somewhere
Every time I go to use a coupon from retailmenot or other coupon websites, they don't work
Brand new car in pristine condition [t]http://puu.sh/lhUCa.jpg[/t]
Ahhhhhhh it's green please kill it.
I am gonna kill it, but first I'm gonna take everything useful out of it
Are you gonna scrap it or sell it to some racer?
That car is scarily narrow without its fenders
Are you gonna scrap it or sell it to some racer?
Try to sell it first, then scrap it if it doesn't get sold in a month or so.
Can you guys please check out this dealership quote for me. I scratched someones rear bumper, I feel like I could get it much cheaper than this place. http://imgur.com/76auxXM sorry idk how to embed images

[editline]11th November 2015[/editline] Where do you guys usually get your parts? What website? Bosch/cheap O2 sensors don't work right in Hondas and foul up quick and the most likely OEM Denso or equivalent alternator lasted you probably 180k miles. Any cheaper brand would be lucky to last half what a quality alternator does. Don't forget to replace the battery if it's junk too when you do an alt.
Not really, unless they're cool with you buying them some touch up paint for 30 bucks.
So does it seem reasonable? Is there no sketchiness going on
So does it seem reasonable? Is there no sketchiness going on
Whoops, deleted my post that I was gonna put in my previous post. Yeah that's dead on for a repainted bumper. You could call up Toyota and see if they sell bumpers already painted but that's probably going to be similar in cost anyways.

Eugh, my KLR650 is driving me nuts! Recently I've ran into the strangest issue where the bike won't start once it's warmed up. It fires up cold just fine, but then won't start when I go to start it a few minutes later. It cranks and cranks, the bowl fills with fuel, but I'm assuming there's no spark? It will, however, start if I bump-start it. So far I've replaced: Ignition coil Plug wire Plug Voltage Regulator Performed a valve adjustment cleaned the carb Now I'm thinking it's the stator or the battery. Any other riders have any suggestions?
So this bad boy is being sold for 18k due to Black Friday Should I go for it? It looks so fucking tempting. I am getting my Driver's License in 2 weeks and this SUV for a first ride seems fucking nuts.
