I'm gonna order a set of these because they look kick ass for a desk paperweight.
[sp]No I am not ordering engine rebuild shit, I did not buy a core and rebuilding it incase my block is pooping.[/sp]
Talon was back under the knife again today. Falls on its face at 10psi of boost and can't go over 65mph on the freeway, loses speed going up hill. All around feeling very very doggy.
I unhooked the vacuum line on the fuel pressure regulator so it'd get as high of fuel pressure as possible then it ran a little better.. it'd do 70-75 fairly readily.
Took the fuel filter out and it felt a little rough blowing through it.. so I drilled a hole right through the fucker. Runs good now, it gets up to 80-85 ok and that's as far as I felt like taking it, lol.
MAYBE that'll be the end of the issue for the damned thing.

Looks like it's time for a high flow fuel pump and filter now huh?
Every dogged engine I have ever delt with has been a fuel starvation problem when no other issues were found and looked for.
Old carb engines have this issue more readily what with mechanical fuel pumps and shit. [sp]Chevy, Ford, Dodge[/sp]
How much should I be looking to spend on a new suspension system for my Honda Civic? Like I've probably said before, the people I bought it from cut the springs so the car is really really low. I was talking to some people who said the best thing to do would just get a stock suspension system and replace it all together.
Donor car.
Don't all the guys who buy cheap coilovers put their stock suspensions on CL to try and make a buck? I see that happen with miatas a lot. May be worth checking out

Will cost $526.36 for all the parts to rebuild the 3.8L, am I missing anything?
Also! I found some performance stuff people actually did with the 3.3L! (The non-stroked 3.8L)
Turbo’d 3.3L:

Guy was running 8 PSI just fine, blew a seal in his turbo though and thought he busted a ring. So it's safe to say it will run up to 8# no issue. Stock injectors. Has a rising fuel regulator.
There's also a user that stuck a super charger on his car and had it running (apparently) kind of what I'm hoping to do. Apparently running MegaSquirt.
3.3 to 3.5L Stroker:

And not sure, but Chewy may have done it, IDK, I can't get in touch with him, but he was doing a twin turbo 3.3L build with MegaSquirt.

Is this in reply to me? If so, what do you mean?
Is this in reply to me? If so, what do you mean?
Find a car that's getting rid of its stock suspension, or is dead, or is in a junkyard, etc. Or you could just buy a set of stock springs... they're not very expensive. Chances are, however, that due to the cut springs your (likely) stock shocks/struts are totally toast and should likely be replaced as well. If you're on a budget, buy all new shocks, and find used stock springs elsewhere. Check out a few civic forums, people practically give springs away when they install coilovers or performance suspension.
Getting an e30.
Trying to buy a 99 Durango SLT off craigslist in south san francisco. Called the lady and she said she'd check her schedule to show it and call me back. That was 6 hours ago. Do people understand if they want to sell a vehicle that the idea is to sell it? I mean... really. She's lucky it's a nice car for wicked cheap or I wouldn't consider calling her again tomorrow...
Also I sold the '74 Dart to my best bro. He's wanted it since I bought it and he's got a bunch of money and nothing to do with it so he's gonna make her nice again. The car is still at my house. We're fixing the control arms and the power steering leak before he drives off with it.

What most people consider to be suspension is just your struts/shocks/springs, although if there's any aftermarket control arms you should replace them with some stock replacements. Just buy those pre-assembled struts on Rockauto, the ride will be nice and comfy after that.

If you get a proper stand alone ECU or something that you can at least tune it should hold together far better than that one guy's. Messing with the fuel pressure or using a piggyback on a stock N/A motor with a stock N/A ecu with F/I is always a disaster waiting to happen. You'd be better off putting a carb on it even.
Just got a large chunk of change, looking around for a car for family purposes. I swore there was so much on CL when I was broke, now there aint shit.

Yeah so when the handle broke, it broke every screw bracket that keeps it mounted. The only thing keeping the door handle attached on the inside is the linkage to the locking mechanism.
I've found replacement parts on Ebay, but they all seem to be black/grey rather than Old Man Beige like it should be. :frown:

I cant ever find a good parts truk to swap the engine into a suburban...
Most of them are either expensive or cheap lots of miles and abused.
Two cars stolen and four break-ins at my old university in just this past week. To think I parked a Miata there all last year. Yikes.
Replacing the struts in the Subie tomorrow, and I'm putting my new wheels, tires, brake pads, fogs, and horns on too!
Hopefully it won't ride like shit now.
Now here's an incredibly rotten Beetle in some actual daylight:

So to celebrate a nice fall Oregon day and a few days without rain as well as 162k on the clock and using 1qt of oil in 400 miles. I decided to go drive up and down my favorite road test out the new Bilstiens and beat the living shit out of the motor like always. It's been far too long since I've taken this car out for a real drive, I need to get into doing autocross or something with it because I'm not familiar with it like I used to be.
Found out that stuffing my phone into my headrest actually works pretty damn well, decided to try recording it for the hell of it. I'm waiting on a new camera lens in the mail since this cheap knockoff is absolutely terrible so sorry about the quality if anyone actually decides to watch it.

There's no service out in these parts, I bought a bunch of the Monstercat album mixes off Google Play with Google Opinion Rewards credit. Have like 35 hours of music for free :v:
Feel good today.
Went out and bought that Durango I was talking about, finally got a hold of the lady and had my friend drive me to south SF to meet her husband. I drove it for a minute and he told me the front right wheel bearing is bad and it makes a loud humming noise, but goes away if you are turning left. No big deal, in an afternoon I can have the cv shaft out, and put a new $30.00 bearing and hub on it and be good to go. No CEL's, no anything else wrong. Interior is immaculately cared for, and I didn't bother haggling because even with the hub issue, it didn't really make it worth any less in my eyes.
$1,600 for a 1999 Durango SLT, fully loaded, leather, RAM emblem seats, V8 (I believe it's a 318) and 4wd shifter to change hi/lo/full/slip/low controls. CD/AM/FM w/built in tweeters and subwoofer which I have no intention of changing, since it just sounds really good right off the bat. It may not have a sub, but the bass is definitly not lacking for a stock system, I'll have to hunt around and see if there is one.
The exterior has a dent on the front fender about 1/2" across, and one on the rear pillar, but overall, totally badass. I drove it the 45 miles home, did fine.
