Okay, I'll search accordingly then. Are there any particular models or brands I should be looking for? Butre suggested a everlast powerarc 140 but I just want to explore all of my options. Thank you!
I used the hf welder wire feed to weld some exhaust pipe together and thats it. It does not make pretty welds no matter how down you get the technique. It truly does suck as others mentioned.
I'll shop around to see if I can get better prices, but what do you think? http://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/hobart-handler-125-ez-flux-cored-welder http://www.homedepot.com/p/Lincoln-Electric-Handy-MIG-Welder-K2185-1/100596739?MERCH=REC-_-PIPHorizontal1_rr-_-100031840-_-100596739-_-N Or perhaps this one? http://www.homedepot.com/p/Lincoln-Electric-Weld-Pack-HD-Feed-Welder-K2188-1/100031840 Kinda wish it took gas though.
I've had HF welders and they do well. But. Do not get flux core. You want to run gas. Gas is the only way to go on mig'n. Stick is very simple for a welder to do, I've never seen a welder that coudnt run stick do how crappy it was made. Tig... I bought the HF rig machine for giggles and it wasn't that bad of a machine. Granted I put a different torch and foot pedal on it. There are alot of people that believe you have to get a welder from a known good brand but really I've seen the Chinese welders do the same stuff! Here lately I've been searching for a motor driven welder, finally pulled the trigger on a Bobcat 225G 10kwatts. Perfect! Welder and a pretty beefy generator. So o here's a rant wile I try to get my hung over ass felling like I should do something.
I've seen a lot of chinese welders that aren't able to run 1/8th inch electrodes. I have a small portable unit that you can't go bigger than 3/32 on

[editline]18th November 2015[/editline] Also you probably wont need a full sized cylinder for CO2 It takes me 4 days to burn through a full one if I am going full tilt so a half size should do you for a while.
Holy. Shit. That Stratus I was beating my head into the wall about. It was a bad distributor. A *second* bad distributor. That failed while it was running. Put a brand new one from OReilly's into it today and it runs great. Also. The timing belt on that piece of trash looks like it's the original. With like 170k miles on it. Cracked up lookin like a dry lake bed. As a final note; Piss on this specific fitting. I've never ever gotten one to come apart on a DSM. That includes the Talon. We cut that CS'er off and slipped the hose right onto it and double clamped it. Done. Try to beat me, I'll show you DSM. Talon now has a new fuel pump ($25 online :V:) and awaits a new fuel filter for good measure. My buddy's Eclipse GST was on my operating table tonight, too. It had a fairly new timing belt with a ton of slack in it. Ripped that off and put on a new belt and tensioner. Ain't nobody got time for skipped timing. DSMs.. reliably unreliable.
Finished up the Subie today just in time for Wagon Wednesday! [t]http://i.imgur.com/1qBEx9H.jpg[/t] New: Struts Calipers Brake Pads Tires Rims Hella 500 Fog Lights Hella Sharptones Rallyarmor Mudflaps (I didn't get down to the post office in time today to pick them up) Getting soon: Tint Roof Basket of some variety Auxiliary lights to be mounted on said basket WRX wagon spoiler
Thanks for the advice guys, I'm a few pages late but I'll look into it.
Well, I drove the Durango around the last couple days; waiting for my wheel bearing to arrive in the mail, and repositioned the spark plug wires due to a TSB that there was a misfire being caused by the wires running parallel for too long a run, which made it miss at idle, so I basically had to turn it into a mess so they didn't run parralel following the TSB pictures. I fixed two of the dents in the body just using a suction cup. Luckily there was no memory yet so they just stayed. I'm severely thinking about a brush guard just to hide the fender dent above the headlight. Don't put a brush guard on! Its so clean, just leave it stock, it'll look like something a kid owns otherwise. The big ugly bumper would stand out far more than the dent
Well fuck [t]http://puu.sh/lqQF4.jpg[/t] That's the earliest we've got snow in quite a lot of years :v:

It's even more nightmarish with boosted cars since you can buy an aftermarket distributor and supposedly they can be so weak brand new that it can be worse than a super worn out OEM unit. Good to hear you figured it out.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/Lilgs7c.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/lj2xpKh.jpg[/t] Aw yeah, this is the project I've waited for. 240z. My hype is off the rails Engine is the original l24 which has sadly seized, will be taken apart to see if it can be saved. The owner kindly gave us a l28 shorty in that event Soooo where to start :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Dzpw8R4.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/jltv96Q.jpg[/t] That's about as bad as the rust gets (afaik) And I will be rebuilding the recon'd dash that now sits in my room using the bits from those boxes. And those wheels... they are going to look absolutely mint when polished/buffed up :DD
Hell yeah L series power, was this one on gumtree for $9K?
It might've been. Tbh I didn't see any ads, I was just taken along to a surprise inspection.

It looks way better not lifted with guards all over it.
Is it worth getting the cheap $15 Bluetooth OBD2 dongles? Or should I spend a little more for a little nicer one?
I've ordered a $5 one from ebay. It's probably trash, but it's just $5 anyway :v: If it actually works, it'll be a great bonus
Is it worth getting the cheap $15 Bluetooth OBD2 dongles? Or should I spend a little more for a little nicer one?
Whats even cheaper is a piece of electrical tape to cover your CEL
I've used mine a few times. I'd say if you don't need that $15 to prevent yourself from starving, pick it up. Cheap, free apps can diagnose the issue, and you can save yourself a trip to the store. Can also help you diagnose a friend's car if it breaks down (like I've done)
ppl can hack ur car if u use a bluetooth obd2 dongle
Is it worth getting the cheap $15 Bluetooth OBD2 dongles?
Well fuck [t]http://puu.sh/lqQF4.jpg[/t] That's the earliest we've got snow in quite a lot of years :v:
I'll trade you. We had 75° the second half the day and light drizzly rain the first half. My car is so much freakin' fun in the snow, I can't wait for more this year.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/43tDMEo.png[/t] Well this explains a lot :why:
Why in the hell are any of those even error codes aside from ABS related code :v:
Why in the hell are any of those even error codes aside from ABS related code :v:
The fuel cap was refusing to unlock sometimes a while back, but that just fixed itself after a while. Also the single wipe sometimes doesn't work, got a parking brake malfunction yesterday which prompted me to look, and no idea about the speaker
Well mother nature is here to rain on my parade. Battery warranty ended 6 months ago and today my battery shit the bed. So theres $250. Fucking stupid that the battery goes out of warranty six months ago and of course it gets bad this week. Part of me wishes it was the alternator thats bad because its cheaper, but its not. Going to replace my leaking power steering pump next week so theres $75. The steering box also probably needs to be looked at so that'll be done too since I'll be in the area already. Additionally, I'm going to attempt replace my ragjoint if I can get my hands on something to drill/sheer the rivets.. $13? My XboxOne fund has now been re-purposed to keeping the Blazer on the road. And I'm moving and the security deposit is a stupid amount. 2015 has not been nice to my wallet. Life goes on anyway.
are you running optimas or something? just get napa batteries like a sensible person [editline]20th November 2015[/editline] if you're going to spend more than $150 on a battery just go all the way and get a braille endurance series. yeah they're $300 or more but they'll outlast any car you put them in [editline]20th November 2015[/editline] or duralast batteries, my experience is they always fail inside the warranty
