Finally recorded part 2 of my exhaust vid today and put it all together. Enjoy.
The fuel cap was refusing to unlock sometimes a while back, but that just fixed itself after a while. Also the single wipe sometimes doesn't work, got a parking brake malfunction yesterday which prompted me to look, and no idea about the speaker
Please for the love of god tell me that the wiper "malfunction" doesn't illuminate the CEL...
Is it worth getting the cheap Bluetooth OBD2 dongles? Or should I spend a little more for a little nicer one?
I've got a $5 dongle off ebay, two of them actually. They work great on my Saab and my mate's Volvo, even managed to hide his transmission code.
Please for the love of god tell me that the wiper "malfunction" doesn't illuminate the CEL...
None of those gave a CEL, only the parking brake malfunction showed on the dashboard display and the switch started blinking
I noticed the CEL is gone on the Subie today :v: Must have been a side effect of disconnecting the battery when I was wiring up my foglights. It'l be back
Weirdest thing happened today, stepped on it when exiting a roundabout which made the front right wheel jump a bit due to losing grip and immediately the car went "front right door open" Had to disconnect battery for it to come back to senses. Magical french electronics. The one in my truck is 3 years old, the one in my step dad's truck is 5 years old, the one in my suburban is also 5 years old. To top it off the one in my mom's Saturn is 7 Years old!!! Saves me $150 now and in 3 or 4 years its dead again then so be it
I got the wheel bearing in the other day, and decided - F this, I got work to do, building a cafe. I dropped it off to my favorite mechanic, and they charged me 1 hour to put it in, and were done while I was working. I didn't want to jack it up, pull the short shaft loose, unbolt it, pull it, etc... this one I left up to someone else. The obnoxious grinding while driving noise is gone, and I believe the Durango is now nearly flawlessly operating.
Finally recorded part 2 of my exhaust vid today and put it all together. Enjoy.
How much was that muffler? After listening to the stock sound, it sounds VERY similar to a Dodge 2.5L, and I'm looking for an exhaust that makes it a little more throaty and less tinny. Like yours, after 3K RPM it starts sounding like rice. Wish the damn thing sounded like a WRX. Haha.
So friend bought himself a Holden Barina (Opel Corsa) with an X20LET 2.0 liter turbo engine in it, putting nearly as much power down as my GT Forester, in a car weighing 900ish KG compared to my Forester 1300KG it's insanely quick. Best part is it looks like a stock, pretty beat up Bolden Barina so nobody suspects a thing. So hooning around tonight putting it through it paces. Come by a car cruise and drive in to it to see what's going on. People start laughing at it ironically saying "cool car" "bet it has sooooo much power", so we go to the exit and absolutely gun it, lighting up both front wheels through first, second and third finishing it off with a nice big dose dose from the turbo. Come back around the corner drive in and absolutely everyone is silent, faces with a look of disbelief. One person just comes upto the drivers windows with the most dumbfounded look on his face and simply says "What the fuck is that, What the FUCK is that". Oh boy sleepers are fucking awesome. Pic of car [t]http://i.imgur.com/vyIorGS.jpg[/t] But it's not remaining in the barina, once my friend gets the money he's giving it forged internals, bigger turbo aiming for 400-500HP then putting it into a Holden/Opel Combo van [t]http://i.imgur.com/jinOxD0.jpg[/t]
400-500HP then putting it into a Holden/Opel Combo van [t]http://i.imgur.com/jinOxD0.jpg[/t]
through the front wheels???

Haha.
It was right around $430 brand new, but they way they designed it for NA Miata it has to be everything from the cat back, so that's actually the price of the muffler and a huge connecting pipe. It's certainly a deeper & louder sound than stock, but I wouldn't say it's particularly throaty—still relatively uniform sounding. It does produce some nice burbles though as the engine speed slowly drops through 2k. I did see you were asking about 4cyl exhausts a page or two back but I believe everything Racing Beat makes is Mazda direct fit so I stayed quiet. If I learned anything from my exhaust research though it's that a Borla muffler will make your car loud, and I know you can buy naked mufflers if you're building your own exhaust.
I can not enjoy with that fucking sound of belt whine and that clatter. IM A ANGRY MAZDA WERRRLRLELELE BLIUREEEELELEKEL
I am lazy/unsure in addressing these issues and it does make my car sound pretty poor. I've had people get alarmed by the clatter, like "oh boy that does not sound good!" like critical failure is imminent. Or had a guy yell at me I need an oil change. When I got one like 1k ago at the time.

Very sedate. Luckily there's a cure for that.
Finished up the Subie today just in time for Wagon Wednesday! [t]http://i.imgur.com/1qBEx9H.jpg[/t] New: Struts Calipers Brake Pads Tires Rims Hella 500 Fog Lights Hella Sharptones Rallyarmor Mudflaps (I didn't get down to the post office in time today to pick them up) Getting soon: Tint Roof Basket of some variety Auxiliary lights to be mounted on said basket WRX wagon spoiler
Just a note; in quite a few states, i believe New York included, fog/driving lights that are mounted above the head lights are illegal on the road. Some states will let you by if you have them covered when you are on the road. I wanted to mount some on the roof of my Impreza Outback Sport (to see over tall grass/wheat for deer on the way home from work at 2-3AM, no other vehicles around) but a decent amount of people get tickets in my state for it.

Saved $$$ at the expensive of it probably having to replace it in 3.5 years if I still own the vehicle
dose
Vl spec dose? Also want to see this do a driveway run.

I live upstate and have never heard of anyone ever getting a ticket for it, but I will do some research.
Nope. Still does it. I have a new torque converter ready to put in it. Last summer I had issues with it going into limp mode after the torque converter slipped. I switched from 87 to 89 and it never did it a single time this summer.

What gives, are you hiding something from us? Wait, that SEC has 280k miles....gg
