Wikipedia lied to me saying it was the 5.0 v8. I was shocked by the ridiculous amount of vacuum lines of wires

top tip about mudflaps:
go to your local pilot travel center or similar and buy yourself one or two mudflaps for an 18 wheeler
theyre something like $12 a piece and you can cut them into whatever shape you want!
big wide mudflaps are a lot more effective than their smaller counterparts
(plus if you take your car offroad theyre cheap to replace)
this is what mine look like:
So you post a craigslist ad for a very nice but pretty common 500SEC, and then tease us with an engine bay shot of an early 70s 300SEL 6.3. What gives, are you hiding something from us?
Wait, that SEC has 280k miles....gg
that is an m117 actually
my friend has one in a 73 450sel that has been sitting for 10 years
we really want to get it running but all those hoses are probably trashed
we put a battery in it and the first thing it did was spray fuel all over the engine bay
[editline]21st November 2015[/editline]
also i think that one has a pa system installed because my friends most certainly did not have that speaker
Actually I'm dumb
Probably going to sound stupid, but which octane are you using? Last summer I had issues with it going into limp mode after the torque converter slipped. I switched from 87 to 89 and it never did it a single time this summer.
I usually fill up with 87, but lately it's 89 because it's $0.02 more. Doesn't do anything. I'm curious if it's the injectors, because it gets RETARDED shaky with MDS kicking on. I really can't tell if it's the trans shaking like a mother or the engine. During MDS the TC locks up too.
Weirdest thing happened today, stepped on it when exiting a roundabout which made the front right wheel jump a bit due to losing grip and immediately the car went "front right door open"
Had to disconnect battery for it to come back to senses. Magical french electronics.

I also got my studded tyres on!

[sp]And I bought it just two weeks ago too :suicide:[/sp]
My winter tires are terrible, though I don't want to buy new ones if I'm ditching my car next year. Oh well, if I wrap the Cavalier around a pole, I have an excuse to replace it early.
Tire went flat. Cars too low to jack up to put a replacement on. Brought it to Pep Boys, they said it was too low to get it onto their lift. Guy who is fixing the suspension wants the car by Monday. What do?

That's an upgraded horn
And yeah that is an M117, my bad. I'm used to seeing M117s with the dipsticks next to the distributor, while the M100 6.3 and 6.9L engines are usually off to the side like that.
Also if you fix the fuel leaks, it should run, unless if the injection points are ruined.

This is more like what you'll see in that SEC though, except add the WUR because all pre 1986 MB engines have WURs

Very carefully make a ramp out of plywood just high enough to get your Jack under it.

Place 2x4's or something in front of the flat tire, drive up onto it, place jack under car.
If one isn't enough, make a makeshift ramp out of wooden pieces

Jack it up in the middle? i.e both front/rear wheels, or if you can, both wheels on one side?

Hi I'm from California and what's a winter tire?

It, along with snow, is a myth.
Subaru is leaking oil for some reason now.

If you look in your owners manual, the Hemi requires 89 or higher. It is not tuned for 87 and will given spark and timing issues. For me I had almost identical issues you explained and that's the only thing I can think of I changed. Granted, mine doesn't have MDS, so I can't speculate on MDS causing issues or not from personal experience.
Cruise + photos last night. We ran into the white one happenstance and he chilled with us the rest of the night.

On an Impreza, depending on his tire size, thick semi style flaps might not work.
I have 205/55/16 tires (slightly larger than original 205/60/15) and had issues with zip ties getting ripped off when i had my thick mud flaps on.
I went to Oreillies, found pickup flaps that were decent sized but very thin, and installed them.
Canadian Tire batteries are the worse leave positive and negative leads disconnected and it still finds a way to die....
The Energizer Battery I bought from Walmart was connected and sat through -40 weather for Months and still worked fine.
Next month I pick up Intake for Chrysler month after Pistons, then Rods,1 head,2nd head ,then block bored, then crank magnafluxed and small stuff.
It will take a while doing it at 600$ at a a time.
The Talon got a very appropriate sticker..

The glow is from me welding the new flexpipe onto it using birdshit.
And then in true DSM fashion, today it blew out the gasket between the turbo and exhaust manifold. So over to my buddy's house we went since it's 19*f out.

I have advice. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy shit gaskets for your exhaust.
See this? This has no metal 'ring' around where it seals;

This does;

We pulled the header to replace that turbo gasket and noticed the exhaust manifold gasket was leaking a bit, too. Brand new, junk. Replaced it with a real Felpro one, not some ebay knockoff garbage. The one where the turbo met the manifold we replaced with a metal one, instead of the waffled ebay garbage one. A little orange spermatex to hold it all in place, and we're good.. I hope. The car's sleeping outside until tomorrow when it's all set up and then take it for a run to heat cycle it and re-tighten all the nuts that hold it together.. and please please please be fixed for the winter.
Oh.. and here's how to tighten one tiny little allen plug in the back on the head on the NSX that likes to leak oil.

(can't wake up)
only the russians can make that car uglier
A Bit less camber and a coat of the same color the wheels are in, and it would look pretty fresh. and get rid of that ugly mesh grill.
I kinda like it as it is.
Its got a very aged copper look to it, kinda jade like. I like it.
I'd never be seen on the road with it though.

I drove 60 miles to see my girlfriend during that storm, saw 15 cars in the ditch. I used to believe that midwesterners werent retarded in snow, but the last few years, I have been losing faith.

My Miata looks like that green one on the right at the moment. Have the bumper cover off and am touching up the paint. Shit is getting way more involved than I initially thought. Prolly will be all set and done by Tuesday honestly. Mostly because of other time restraints and such.
Also, my dad and I have pretty much decided we will buy a lift for the garage in order to store the Miata for the winter (while also still garaging the shitbox Kia Optima I was driving before). I know, I know, it's only a Miata, but it's in such great condition that I would feel ashamed to potentially start ruining it, even though there are great protective undercoats and it would be in a garage. Plus, we wouldn't mind a lift for servicing, although it will be one of those lifts with the long beams you drive on instead of a 2 post, so without some sort of jack, taking wheels of will be annoying. A jack accessory is available, but it's like $600, and my dad claims to have a capable jack to get the job done.

Buy 1 4x4 post. Cut it into 4 12" or what ever inch peices and raise the car place wood in between floor and car. Lower car onto the posts. Then put posts / cylinder blocks / post jacks between car and lift.
Not the safest but a nice workaround for not having a 4 point. I truly enjoy 4 points alot more than the drive on style.
