Buy 1 4x4 post. Cut it into 4 12" or what ever inch peices and raise the car place wood in between floor and car. Lower car onto the posts. Then put posts / cylinder blocks / post jacks between car and lift.
Not the safest but a nice workaround for not having a 4 point. I truly enjoy 4 points alot more than the drive on style.
One of his ideas is that hopefully the beams/posts/whatever you'd call them can be moved horizontally. That way, you could either just use them on their own, or use some sort of 2 point block and support the car more towards the middle so then there is easy wheel access.
We only buying this 4 point/drive on style because it's the one that fits in the 2 car section of the garage without needing to basically rearrange the garage door and rest of the garage. The 2 point could hypothetically fit in the 1 car section where my mom parks, but my dad was pointing out that the door would need to be extended, along with pushing the door motor and rails up as far as they go. But even then, the fit is so tight with most 2 point lifts that it's not really feasible.
Hell, we could put the 2 point in the 2 car section (since that has enough length and height clearance), but because of the width, we'd only be able to drive one car in. Since our main priority is storage, we want to be able to fit all the cars in the fleet right now in the garage.
A freeze plug literally exploded outward in the turbo slant just a few moments ago. There's a nice coolant trail leading right to my car for about 5 blocks. Oh boy. I have no idea how that could happen either. The whole plug popped out with force outwards after revving the engine to start it... fun times ahead.
Wow Kabstrac, looking sweet. Any more plans for it or just time to enjoy?

Were you able to find it? If so are the threads on either the block or the plug fucked?

And those jerks drove right through my parking lot for work and I wasn't even there. My part time installer's F150 made a debut though, lol.

Freeze plugs just tap in. No threads, unless there is something funky going on with new vehicles now?
Freeze plugs just tap in. No threads, unless there is something funky going on with new vehicles now?
Is that universal? I swear that my uncle was bitching about stripped threads on the freeze plug in his old Ford FE series 360 a long time ago.

The "older" Honda motors don't usually have freeze plugs, on the B series there's a front freeze plug of sorts that has a hex head shaped into it which goes into the water jacket. AFAIK it's only there to install a block heater and or drain the block.
A lot of times those dumb things are just from casting so they can drain the sand and junk out I think, too.

Unless you have the yard space for 6 more, dont do it. I got a ram... once, and now I'm on number 6 going on number 7, in love with the damn things. I only have one at the moment, but I did have 3 at once at one time.
As for the threaded frost plugs you guys could be thinking of the conviently placed alan key headed plugs for draining coolant. As far as old american engines go, they just tap into the side with some silicone around the outside.
If my ford knowledge is right, FE 360 is the same as the 460?? Mine had the standard tap in the side frost plugs. I cant imagine anything but something exotic like my dads full billet race block not having them.

"Core plugs are used to fill the sand casting core holes found on water-cooled internal combustion engines. They are also variously called frost plugs, freeze plugs, Welch plugs or engine block expansion plugs"

Finally got some more pictures back of the ram I'm looking at buying. Hes thinking 15-16k, I'm feeling maaaaaybe 13k because he cant prove the engine was rebuilt, it has 400k km, tires are bald, and it has some rot on the bottom of the drivers door. Twin turbo, built engine and trans, full new seat covers, the blue is really rare (same as serj's durango), brand spanking new read end with yukon gears and a detroit locker, whole buncha other stuff done.

Has another sticker on the window that says "back the fuck off unless you want a face full of cummins"
[thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsdnzbzzda.jpeg[/thumb]
Idk, is 13k a bit much for an 01 truck even if the driveline has been pretty well all gone through? I was looking at 06-09 mega cabs but they are around 23k
So getting a new job, 3 dollars more an hour, as well as more hours.
Really want to buy a Impreza sti now. Since I'll be able to afford one without having no wiggle room at all. I am really torn on a 2007 four door, or a little more for the hatch. I like both of them, just wondering if anyone here has experience with them and how's it like?
The engine bay looks like a total nightmare but I'm sure if you know your way around, it's not to bad. Can't be worse then a 2003 cadillac sts I had to work on.
Not much is worse than a Northstar engine bay.
Also. Leave it to the Talon to pop a trans cooler line, puke fluid out, and refuse to move/go into gear.. all before 4am in the morning :v:
~The Lyfestyle~ (no one seems to be working on the Evos/Lancers in this picture.. hmm)

Question guys.
I'm getting new wheels and tires within the week. The main question is should I go mud terrains / metty all terrains or street tires. I only have a 2wd truk but it does help when you wanna dab a foot into a puddle.
And then again do I go back with 15's ? I have the option for 16 and 17.
I just missed put on some nice cragars online for cheap new in box...

The shop-vac game?
Do you guys think there would be any downsides to doing some of these mods for the 3-speed in my Daytona?

I'm really interested in the manual valve body. It's got a reverse lock out, so it's not too dangerous in that regard.

Looks like a nice rig, not too bad of a price.
It is a light duty truck, a half ton with a 318, but should ride good and offroad good as long as you don't put too big of tires on it.
I can say that i really want the roll bar for my truck.

any recommendations for a OBDII dongle for use with iOS??

YUP. Today's fuck up cost $155.
The car puked out on a side road a 4am. We went to retrieve it at 2pm. It was GONE. FUCK. The city had it towed at 1:30pm. Are you fucking joking me. I called the towing place at the car wasn't even at their lock up yet. It was that close.
So $140 later we got to the car. It was a cracked trans cooler hose. Like one of the only lines we didn't replace. Cut the bad part out and jumped between the 2 ports on the trans, filled it back up with some trans fluid and we're back on the road.
I was livid.. it's not even my money or my problem, but still. Ugh.
The lady at the towing place was like "you're coming to get it? can it drive??"
Goddamn right it can drive, watch me work.
THEN the lady said to us when we were there something like "The city had a fire truck there and everything since it was leaking fluid onto the ground."
So we were like.. shit.. here comes ANOTHER bill for something. Called the city and they said "Nope, no other citations, just the towing bill is all you have to worry about."
Please, please, PLEASE let this be the end of the issues for the Talon. :(

2wd wont be going through anything too big.. I'd just go with regular all-weather/all-terrain. If you just get road tires and Texas gets a dash of snow/cold temps you're going to be in a bad spot.

bigger tires on a 2wd is great for crossing a flooded area of road, that's the main reason I've got 35s on my Silverado
