Weirdest thing happened today, stepped on it when exiting a roundabout which made the front right wheel jump a bit due to losing grip and immediately the car went "front right door open"
Had to disconnect battery for it to come back to senses. Magical french electronics.

More fun magical electronic things happened on Saturday, when it was snowing like hell
Passenger side window refused to go UP only DOWN, no matter what direction I pushed the button. Fought it with some time, taking the door card off (and of course breaking all the crappy plastic clips while doing it) and trying to get the window up. Nope, wasn't going up..
I gave up and was taking it to my parents place to keep in garage overnight, on the way there I pressed the window-up button once again.. and it went up normally. Thanks shitroen

Honestly the ad looks really well written and not at all "no lowballing I know what I got"
That's because I wrote it, lol. My room mate was pretty pissed and said "we need to ditch this damn car!" So we'll see if someone wants it.
Hoping this might become an option;
https://wausau.craigslist.org/cto/5330785368.html
Gonna go check it tomorrow.. the price is so low there's got to be some sort of catch.
Oh oh oh! I thought that was a sarcastic "who wants it." Now it all makes sense. It's an excellent ad, would buy if I wanted a car like that.
[editline]24th November 2015[/editline]
Could do with an interior shot though.

Quite so, those are actually all shots we just had laying around to slap the ad together. It was a "fuck it, let's try selling it" moment.
It's a shame. All that work into the car and all these little bugs keep popping up. I want to trust the car but its getting to the point where like in a relationship she keeps saying "this is the last time ill cheat I swear!" Yea right bitch you've fooled me enough.
Were you able to find it? If so are the threads on either the block or the plug fucked?
Freeze plug... has no threads.
It popped out and hit the exhaust manifold and stopped so I found itm
A lot of times those dumb things are just from casting so they can drain the sand and junk out I think, too.
No. Its specifically for casting to hold the center core in place to cast the hollow of the water jacket. The more freeze plugs, the better thr casting. Thats how they float the core in there before they install the cope and the drag.
You know it's America when thet huge lump of truck is "light duty" :v:
Its because of the after smog 318. It probably puts out 140hp on a good day.
It was advertised as about 143HP.
But not only did I mean it because of the 318, but because of the light duty axles, leafs, driveshafts, etcetera.
My truck has the 6.2 Detroit diesel. Even in factory config with EGR, it makes a bit more power than that.
EGR disabled, dual exhaust, it has a good 20hp over that.
As far as being HD; mine has the 14 bolt rear axle, D44 front with HD quad shock option, 3/4 ton leafs all around, load range E tires with large brakes all around.
last time I had a broken window the shop just put new glass in without bothering to clean up the old glass
What an incredibly crappy shop.
The rule around here is that if you're gonna fix something, it's gonna have to look like it's pretty much brand new.
That goes for the cleaning of the interior after something like this.
It may be just me but i like the design to the Elio car.
Question guys.
I'm getting new wheels and tires within the week. The main question is should I go mud terrains / metty all terrains or street tires. I only have a 2wd truk but it does help when you wanna dab a foot into a puddle.
And then again do I go back with 15's ? I have the option for 16 and 17.
I just missed put on some nice cragars online for cheap new in box...
We got a set of mud terrain KM2's in 33x12.50x15 on pro comp 87's on the CJ. They're a pretty good balance between a straight off-road tire and street tires they got pretty good grip without OMG huge lugs unlike the cut TSL boggers on my truck
Well that guy with the blue dodge wanted waaaaay too much (like 15k), so I'm on to other vehicles. I'm doing good with what I have right now, but I'm open to options. Max budget is 30k, but thats for something really cool.
The best route right now is to just finish my '72 duster and make due with my current DD, but I like looking around. Might not buy anything, but I was wondering if anybody has any ideas?
I was considering demilitarized humvees with the slant back, it looks like you can buy them fairly cheap and there isnt much hassle getting them accross the border.
Do you guys think there would be any downsides to doing some of these mods for the 3-speed in my Daytona?

I'm really interested in the manual valve body. It's got a reverse lock out, so it's not too dangerous in that regard.
To add to this, is there a shifter that I can replace it with? The one it has is kinda busted. It's has a reverse lock out button on top, is there anything I could replace it with?

What about one of those snow cat deals with the tracks and cab?
I'm in the market right now for an older Rolls Royce and I came across this today:
http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/5268353397.html
This makes me very upset :(
Found out something neat today.
My pickup shares its AC controls with GM's cars of the era, and the cars all had different knobs for the levers.
My factory knobs are triangular and chrome.
I grabbed a set from an '87 Olds that are basically square, chrome, with a black stripe. They look a bit more modern IMO.
I'm going to shoot myself. Seriously.
The Talon is back to it's old tricks today. We washed the engine bay to get rid of ATF all over from yesterday. And then drove it a little, just to see how it was shifting/ etc after running empty yesterday. That all seemed in order.
But then we got home to inspect everything and underneat was fucking COVERED in engine oil. That's new, it's been dry up until now. But NO.
So, I cleaned everything off with brake clean. Then idled it and watch a big wet spot slowly "appear" on the exhaust side of the turbo.. housing.
Looking at the bottom of the turbo I watch it start from dry, then slowly grow larger until it's dripping, right about where this red circle is is where it starts;

The return line also appears to be leaking, with a new gasket. So that's cool. I'm going to replace that gasket then see what happens. I don't have any clue wtf is going on with that weird leak on the turbo. It's like it's leeching through the housing.. but there's no oil on the opposite side of where it start, only a turbine and exhaust gasses. Dear lord why.

The 80s Silver Spurs were really nice cars, but if you want something really unusual, you should be looking at Bentley Turbo Rs. Just beware that the two from Crewe have some oddities like left hand threaded lug nuts on the passenger side wheels and whatnot.

They probably were! I didn't procure them. I slapped a new Felpro oil return line one on it today with a little spermatex orange to help.. and we'll see what the word is tomorrow once it's dry.
Speaking of oil leaks, after I work on my new workshop/shed/thing tomorrow I have to put the Subie on ramps and find out what the hell is leaking oil

Are you positive it's not a spider rear gear?
aaaaaaaaaaaaagh
How many spiders are there on a vehicle to nail it down remotely to see if its even worth calling the guy over just for the long block, trans and basic spare parts.
