Why are you doing those things?
Plan is to sell the other parts and use that as a down payment and trade in the 3 late next year for a new Miata.
This is so clean... Someone needs to rebuild this. Maybe a 3.5/3.8 Mits swap. Locked up engine for $1200

weird shit my subaru does of the week:
lately my cooling fans have been temperamental; sometimes one will turn off until i a) tap it with my finger, b) restart the car, or c) hit a bump or engage the AC.
Naturally, it starts overheating, or so the gauge tells me this. What's confusing, is how quickly the temp goes back to normal after restarting the car or starting the fan. Say my needle is above the 2/3rds ohshit mark on the temp gauge, i coast in gear, blip on/off the ignition and the needle IMMEDIATELY goes back to normal temp.
I've never hit red on the gauge or blown any steam. If it were just the fan not running and overheating, it should take some time to cool back down. Driving faster will cool it off as well. Coolant temp sensor AND a fan problem?
I've got heat, I burped the system recently and it has plenty of coolant. turbo subis are notoriously annoying with air in the system. Header tank burping is way better than rad burping (turbo ftw)
Took the Speed3 wing off the car today. First step towards stocking it out. I bolted this guy on back in Feb of last year...
Up next will be either removing the aftermarket intake and horns, or removing the coilovers.

Depends on the generation. If you're thinking of 2007 and newer, it's only going to be AMG kits, and they are very expensive. If they're older, you could probably get knock off's but they are not worth it (terrible quality fiberglass stuff, flimsy things). Which generation are you looking for?

If you are going older than 2007, then you won't be making a C63 clone. Honestly the best old cheap Mercedes C-Class is the W201.

Yay. Once I find a day where I'm not moving or working a shitton of overtime, I can use the heated service bay at work to try and fix my power lock issues. I'm thinking it's just a bad ground or one of the shitty crimp connectors fell off.

Talking to him right now. He has no proof of the rebuild though.

Also, why would you move here? It's terrible.
If you don't, in the next month when I move to LA, I will. Fuck the Volvo, that thing is beautiful.
Out of anywhere to move, you move to the most ass-backwards state for automobiles that also currently has no water.
Salt.. at least there's no salt.
I did all 4 brake lines on a 1990 Cadillac today. Gross. This was the kind of car you could barely jack anywhere on because you go right through it like a graham cracker. I could poke the carpet in a couple areas. The "tunnels" along each side that get covered by side skirts were about 2/3 missing, pinch welds gone. The mounting points for the engine cradle were alarmingly rotten. The most raunchy part though was where the rear frame rails start angling up to go over the rear wheels. They were rotted almost in half, like big chunks missing and cracked.
Absolutely horrible. I ran all those new brake lines, then worked at the bleeders with penetrating oil, a hammer, and a torch, and by some miracle all 4 came loose.
The owner is planning on selling it, but wow who the hell would want it?? The bad part is the visible parts of the car are perfect.. doors, quarters, fender skirts, etc.. the car looks immaculate on top, and the interior is clean, too. Engine is OK looking to boot. If you never got under the car you wouldn't realize how dangerous is probably is to drive.
$100 in my pocket from that job.. then I went and bought a new starter for the Corollabortion for $100. It started acting up this morning, only cranking over once then giving up until you tap the key a few times. Burnt spot on the commutator somewhere. Easy come easy go.
I'll move anywhere, so long as they don't use Salt
Also I just bought these:

So fucking pumped.
[editline]2nd December 2015[/editline]
Also, I have to store my MR2 for the winter (It'd be damned-near suicidal to drive that in the snow), any ideas for what I should do to it? I plan to get a car port (with sides!) to put next to my new workshop (both of which will be on pavement) to park it on.

That's not a C-class
My manager recently purchased an Opel Kadett C City, with the intention to fix it up with his dad.
Yesterday he told me he wants to sell it to me when it's done and when I get my driving license.
It looks like this one, but in a worse state. Luckily his father is a mechanic.

prolly a new one although I don't really mind
http://neworleans.craigslist.org/cto/5301082451.html
this could be a fun project, I'd love to cram a big-ish 2 stroke out of a snowmobile or something in there, sort of like that miata that entered lemons a few years ago. the exterior rust is pretty and if the through rust is limited to floorboards like the post says it should be pretty solid once that's fixed.
That's not a C-class
It's not officially a C-Class, but the W201 is known as the predecessor of the C-Class. Most people will call them C-Class today as that is the segment they fit into. Officially, they're just called the '190 series' or W201 by Mercedes.
Nonetheless, the AMG versions are really cool.

The thing is, even Mercedes nomenclature references it as a C-Class 201 if you want to buy parts and such for it. I can't say for sure if they did this with the C-Class, but for the S-Class, Mercedes decided to go back and call their Sonderklasse line-up for S-class instead during the 70's. Mine is officially an S-class w108, even though it was in 1970 a part of the Sonderklasse line-up. For reasons unkown by me, Mercedes likes to go back to their historic models and give them new names or categories. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened for the C-class.
