Only until you have race car parts. And then you only have money for 'Fucking shit, I just fucking replaced that fucking part you fucking car' parts. :v:
Dude that's every day. I'll replace something on the Rx7 and then something else will break. I spent like $150 on a new Idler arm and a few weeks later both the bushings between my steering and tie rods split open and are pretty much just not there anymore... and now my radiator is clogged... and my turn signals draw too much current and shut off my radio when I use them. Good thing I bought an MR2 that's one year newer!
What's the difference between a forward and reverse manual valve body? There's a mod for my 3-speed that's a reverse. In the car it goes "P-R-N-D-2-1" how would it be shifting?
It serves to prevent shifting into neutral in a race, or even worse skipping into reverse. Easier to pull back with momentum than it is to go forwards against momentum. It would go P-R-N-1-2-3, you have to shift it yourself every time. Also to serj, I'm working on the duster! I jsut got back today after 9 weeks in another town for work so I have a lot of time off now. Its no dart, but its an A body. I'll see how this winter goes, -should- be able to get a bunch done.
It's December 11th in Wisconsin. Today at work I installed an amp/subs in a semi truck in the parking lot in my short sleeves. Wtf is this weather.
The shitty Silverado I use at work stalled out on me five times yesterday, it doesn't seem to like idling for very long. Probably a fuel filter / pump. Thankfully, that meant I got to use the "new" 2011 Ford Transit Connect to do a couple hundred kilometers of driving today. Fuck those things are nicer than I expected, it felt faster to drive around than my Cavalier, somehow.
Probably because it is :v:
just blow all the gunk out like a real man
It's only $18 for a new one, and these are famous for the seals drying up and leaking, so it's due. My front right caliper got stuck tonight. Measured with a laser thermo; Left disk 120F Right disk 230F This was after mild braking in 51F weather
Got a job at a BMW/MB Specialist Shop in a pretty swanky part of town! Doing mostly clerical work but I'll take working around cars over working around food and college students any day! Might actually have money for race car parts now haha.
I'm thinking about going around to some local shops and see if they are willing to maybe take on someone with no college education or certs right now so I guess an apprentice kind of deal. I'd love to just be around cars, hell I'd even take some clerical work, think it may be worth it to go around and ask?

If you aren't an idiot and love to learn, and like cars ofc, you'll do fine. I'd ask smaller shops over larger shops because you more than likely are going to talk with someone who can actually make decisions and honestly the only requirement you need for a job like this is a good attitude and trustworthiness.
Had some fun at the track today, outraced some expensive cars and broke personal records. Best thing is there are so many people videotaping and photographing everything you get some really sweet pictures.
This is going to be a seriously stupid question.... But is 'No low-ballin', I know what I got' or any version thereof the auto-Craigslist version of shooters' "It's 5.56, just like the military!" where you know to instantly avoid the article because everything they just spewed from their word gullet is bull and they know nothing about vehicles? Because damn that's all I see on my craigslist for any type of cheap badly maintained and hard-runned cars...

The Studebacker Hawk GT I took a look at last year was a good example of it: siezed motor frozen breaks crumbling bodywork rotten interior "$5000 dont even think of offering a dime under".
"Someone somewhere is dumb enough to buy this, just like I was when I bought it"
Oh oh, radio woes... So on top of my Clarion VZ400's bluetooth function COMPLETELY shitting the bed, the fucking digitizer just ate it too. Must have been the fables "glass weak spot" because I was turning off the bluetooth function, being it quit, and the glass just... *CRACK* Great, now I tote around a head set. At least it's stereo bluetooth and not the shitty one ear crap. But I guess now I have an excuse to put my JVC Kameleon in the car till I can get a new digitizer. Was failing anyway, not responding to touches in some spots.
I'm finally getting new tires... I have successfully turned mine into drag slicks. Now I'm wondering whether or not to go for 73$ Dextero regular tires in 235/75/r15 or get good year muddish terrain's in LT31/10.5/r15 for 138$. Double the price double the performance on anything but the road. Plus will be able to load the shit out of it and only my suspension will bitch at me and never see the limit of the tires its self....
Try and find the goodyears used so you can buy them almost new for half or at best well under retail price.
Try and find the goodyears used so you can buy them almost new for half or at best well under retail price.
Be sure to check the datecodes on the tires they only have a 6 year shelf life IIRC. I am sure a ton past due tires end up on craigslist as "used". Tires or tyres?
Same thing different spelling. tyres: English spelling tires: American english spelling

Its a really fast long corner to the right, and his rear right wheel was airborne the entire time. Too bad it ended like this.

My truck calls for 235/85/16, I'm running 265/75/16.
Small update on my boat: Interior is worse than I first thought, rear bench/hatch is rotten, same with the passenger seat (only thing holding it on is the fabric which is for some reason stuck to the seat frame), driver seat is 50/50 fabric and duct tape. As for the engine, it's an Evinrude from 1980, 25hp, two cylinder two-stroke. Steering came off when we dropped it off (probably), needs a new shifter(?) cable. Starter doesn't kick in, like the seller says, but there's no click from the solenoid either (unlike what he said), starter moves freely mechanically. Electric choke works fine. If I wasn't this damn sick, I'd be out there troubleshooting some more, but right now keeping my eyes open is a job in and of itself.

Oh also, people on craigslist are ungodly stupid sometimes: http://potsdam.craigslist.org/cto/5306722411.html - A piston rod is broken...but I did a headgasket
If it's still for sale when I go back home for christmas I'm highly thinking about buying this for a mud toy so I can actually start doing body work on my truck and not worry about making more dents https://carbondale.craigslist.org/cto/5337384157.html
You're going to need to sell some of your organs to fix that boat...
Nah, it'll be fine. Now getting it on the water on the other hand... I think a dock is like $1200. And then I need to get it to the dock. [editline]13th December 2015[/editline] Well, the starter works, so probably either a fuse or the solenoid is shot (which is a $15 part)
gah fuck. My moms 2011 mini countryman started slipping the clutch. fuckin bee ehm dubbers
