So... uh... People better at finding research information and help... If I were in the market for a cheap Ford 5.0 with bottom end knock to rebuild myself as a 'fuckit, I'm bored, and need an excuse to buy new tools' project; who would happen to have some good resources to make the project not royally suck for someone who's never done it before?
Why stop at a GT? Get a GT 350.
What scares me about the GT350 is engine mods like running boost. I don't know how the engine in the gt350 will handle it, or if any mods will be available.

Is it a Windsor "5.0" that's actually a 4.9 302 or is it a Coyote 5.0?
Coyote. A friend of mine and I are strongly considering doing a project car together and were thinking of taking a bad 5.0 that we hopefully can find fairly cheap and rebuilding it. I kind of want to do it myself, even though I have absolutely 0 experience with engine work.
I want to stick a coyote in anything that isn't a mustang
I want to stick a coyote in anything that isn't a mustang
I would like to stick one in a rolling street legal rollcage. No fancy body panels or anything like that. Just a seat, engine, rollcage, and wheels.
Sounds sketchy, I mean the build quality of the car looks absolutely fucking terrible. Even supercar replicas are made with finer detail then that.

I agree. The engine is crazy, but the car looks pretty crappy.

And apparently it might be fake
Cover it up, sell it and dont tell them
Nah man tell them you are a certified electrician and had to fix a few electrical gremlins.
Cover it up, sell it and dont tell them
Doing that reminds me of this story of a bodged and hidden renault clio for sale a while ago, now the car has become a legend in the scene http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=81274
Whats more funny is it came with the registration VO54 FFZ. VO54 can be seen as VOSA, which at the time set standards for things like MOT safety tests, and FFZ -> FFS -> for fuck sake
Hey

for context, the brake switch was acting up a while ago and i fiddled with it and got it to work
got in my car last night, pushed the brake, nothing happened, got down and looked, wire was hanging loose.
after walking to both target and an autozone, i eventually had everything i needed to ghetto the fuck out of it
FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU TO HELL AND BACK! I've been trying SO hard to stop myself from going out and trading in my '06 GT for a '16 GT. You just fucked up ALL of that hard work!
But seriously, if I do end up getting a '16 GT, I'm gonna go with the Hellion twin turbo kit. I just can't decide if I want to go with twin 55mm turbos or twin 62mm turbos.
It honestly just depends on your end goal. If you want to stick stock bottom end I'd go 55's. They'll spool a lot faster obviously.

Dont see fluid draining from under it. Could be sadder. Sucks either way
Dont see fluid draining from under it. Could be sadder. Sucks either way
Probably cause it's been quite a few days since it happened.
yeah, it just looks extra sad with a nasty pick-n-pull hood on it and no bumper
its getting fixed as i type this, picking it up in a couple hours.
[editline]17th December 2015[/editline]
also im parked on a steep hill in the photo so you wouldn't see fluids anyway

Strange, apparently the STD didn't come with dual horns. That's really not looking that bad damage wise, you just need to get all the broken shit taken out. Pull stuff back into shape with some straps and get some new stuff to bolt on. The white should be easy to match and you can spray front and rear bumpers to match!

Thats a shame. But hey now you have a pizza delivery guy Civic
I was a little nervous when the guy who towed my car told me he "fabricated" an adjustable Panhard Bar to replace the one that broke on me, because "the shop is in my back yard" and "fabricated" brings up thoughts of some dude named bubba making it out of something like rebar.
All of my fears went away when I stepped into the shop today to pick up my car and saw the drag cars he was building, and the nitrous filling station, the wall full of the giant checks you get when you win an event, the 8 engines getting rebuilt, and a car getting a new tube chassis and rollcage. Went look at the panhard bar he fabricated, and it's fucking legit and adjustable. He even made custom brackets to fix the panhard rod's geometry. So that was a tow, custom fabricated adjustable panhard rod, and a suspension geometry upgrade for a whopping $300.
Can.... can we all share some of your luck...? Please? Because damn that tow guy sounds absolutely amazing.

NO! I FOUND HIM, HE'S MINE! YOU CAN'T RUIN THIS FOR ME!!!!
Picked up my aluminum heads from the post office christ I was expecting them to be lighter if I had of known theyd be 28kgs I would have got a buddy from work to help.
440source included detailed instructions and specs so no guesswork involved. My engine building experience prior to this has been more of the labour aspect none of the brainwork involved so I am learning stuff which is good.
All welding at work is done for the year probably wont weld until the second week of January, doing airbrakes, suspension, and electrical until then.
Learned today a Chase debit card is not a good scraper.
R.I.P Windshield your new lines will be forever hated.
I use deicing washer fluid. Fuck that scraping shit, its cold.
