those leds will not work
I'm sure its obvious but I have no electrical experience so, care to explain?
also, if it's possible, would I want a switch like the one in my original picture, or like this:

Gather round, story time! So, I got a Gopro Hero4 Session for Christmas this year. I mounted it on top of my helmet that I use to ride my 1995 Kawaski Vulcan 500.
Two days later, Sunday the 27th, I was out for a joy ride and was traveling in the right lane on a four lane road, and was about to turn right on to another street. Just then, a car went on to the shoulder of the road and passed me on my right, just before I could start my turn. Thankfully, I didn't begin my lean, and so was unharmed. I was however, recording! I chased after the woman who nearly killed me, and when I caught up to her at the next light, I asked why she did that. She sarcastically remarked "did what?" and rolled up her window, ignoring me. I posted that video, as well as the woman's tag number and a very HD picture of her face to my local county's community facebook page. To my surprise, my post blew up in popularity. It had hundreds of 'likes' and several people had shared it to their own personal pages. In fact, Monday, the next day, a reporter for a local TV news station came to my work and asked for permission to air my video and to interview me about what happened!
So, a pretty shitty situation turned out AWESOME. Cause her freakin face was posted all over facebook and the local news stations!

Those LEDs WOULD work, but only when the speakers are distorting / being fed a distorted signal.
If you want them to flash with the sound get a sound/flash interface;

Sick beard dude. Glad you didn't get hit, that would have been a crazy wreck.

is there a product that does the same thing minus all the options, so I can install my own switch?

Goddammit, I see that shit far too often! I mean just yesterday even I was dangerously cut off at least three times, no blinker included. I feel your grief and really hope the news makes an impact, and causes people to think a little more in your area! It's especially bad up here in NH because I still see people riding their motorcycles (after the snow has calmed down and melted a little).
Also a nightmare of mine has kinda come true in that I don't know how to convince my work to finally change over the little Honda Fit I drive over to snow tires. Most of the rest of the delivery fleet got some, yet I keep hearing crap about how the all seasons should be enough and that particular car just sucks in the snow. Half my coworkers don't even seem to know what snow tires actually are, so they just think I'm bitching about nothing.
Somehow I doubt it's a subtle sign from them about their opinion of me, but then again crazy shit has gone down inside the company...
Been looking to replace this job for a while now at any rate, but since I'm still their it'd be nice to get some proper tires if I'm gonna put up with another winter there. I got the drive a Kia Soul with snow tires and didn't get stuck once. Was a world of difference. /rant
is there a product that does the same thing minus all the options, so I can install my own switch?
if you really want your own switch, just put in a breaker before it reaches that thing and you have a switch.
what ways can I cheaply build the fuck out of my 36cc weed eater motor? I sort of deserted the project of mounting it to my bicycle, but I have almost all the pieces I need.
obviously a good properly tuned expansion chamber (ie not some ebay special made for a cheap pocket bike) is the best and easiest way to make power, so this post is just going to cover mostly internal work
you got a dremel and a carbide burr? I'd have to have my hands on it to give you precise numbers but good rule of thumb widen the intake and exhaust ports by about 15% and lower the intake port a few degrees (how far a degree is depends on the engine's stroke). if possible, open up the case and pad any space that's empty and won't come in contact with spinny bits with devcon filler if possible or jb-weld if you can't get your hands on devcon (be sure to rough up the surface and clean with acetone first) and then cut out the walls between the transfer ports and the cylinder. and if the thing has a reed valve (it probably doesn't but it's not terribly rare on utility motors) then cut a big ass hole in the piston skirt below the wrist pin height on the intake side.
if you want to increase the top RPM and raise the power band, increase the exhaust duration by a few degrees.
and 2 strokes love compression. shoot for 175-ish psi
also forced induction doesn't work on a crankcase aspirated 2 stroke so don't even try. you'd be amazed how many people have asked me about putting turbos on their dirt bikes or motorized bicycles. every time I have to tell them no you'll blow out your crank seals the second the turbo spools up.
basically the same rules that work for 4 stroke camshafts work for 2 stroke port timing
the main difference is that you don't need either a lathe or $400 for a set of new cams
the challenge is that just throwing more air and fuel at it doesn't really do anything but make it run stupid. it'll only take as much charge it can handle and if you try to cram too much through it it'll either blow out the crank seals or spit it back out the carb.
as for expansion chambers, you know yours is big enough when it either scrapes on the ground, burns your leg, or requires major reworking of the frame geometry.
[editline]1st January 2016[/editline]
http://www.amrca.com/tech/tuners.pdf
required reading for any 2 stroke enthusiast
[editline]1st January 2016[/editline]
oh and the big thing with the exhaust port is that you should make sure the piston ring end can't get snagged in it
and one more thing to do if it has a reed valve is to cut a boost port, which is a port that goes from the intake port directly into the cylinder at BDC
2 strokes also benefit greatly from indexed spark plugs
[editline]1st January 2016[/editline]
and you never want your exhaust temperature at the header to exceed the melting point of aluminum. shouldn't happen unless you're trying to engine brake (big no no with a 2 stroke) or have a vacuum leak or something
Can you pull the trunk bulb?
I don't really post here ever but I'm having a mini emergency. the trunk latch of my Jetta broke and now the trunk won't fully close, so now there's this light in trunk that won't turn off now. Should I just disconnect my cars battery to keep it from running down?
Pull the bulb or disconnect the little switch.

just disconnect the switch
I got the truck back home!
Turns out the old batteries were fine, I had forgot to check the rpms while cranking and is was spinning at 500 with them. So I put the new batteries in anyways, cranked, bled the valve on the filer, cranked, shot the shit with the dude's dad, what also owns an 80s ford IDI deisel, bled the injectors, cranked, and it felt like one cylinder was firing but it wouldnt quite catch. So, as a last resort I gave it a lil 2 second shot of ether and it drunkenly stumbled to life. I think the problem was that last time I filled the tank, I half forgot to add additive, and half assumed BP was selling winter blend. I added some cold juice and drove it for a while, and Ill start it tomorrow morning to verify that as the problem. So now I have 2 spare bigass 820CCA spare batteries.
when the block was remanufactued then replaced the 1/4" drive inny plugs with 10mm square outy plugs, so I had nothing to get them out with, and one of them was behind the starter, and the top starter bolt was behind the solenoid.
So I saved myself the busted knuckles and profanities and filled it with distilled water before running the truck long enough to open the thermostat twice, before putting new 50/50 in.
I use a crescent wrench for those types of heads. And you would only need to remove one for it to work.
So I think I'm gonna be getting a new motor for the Integra, I went for a 300 mile drive in it and it averaged roughly 25, maybe 26mpg highway tops which my old averages were anywhere between 32-40 highway depending on my transmission. It kept puking smoke on initial acceleration from what I assume is caused by high vacuum pulling significant amounts of oil through the valve guides and or PCV. It's also idling low, somewhat rough or rougher and making really odd harmonic noises at different rpms which sound somewhat like a supercharger.
I'm gonna have to talk to my mechanic and see what he recommends as the most cost effective. Maybe we'll start with a leakdown test but since the motor was starved of oil 58k miles ago enough that it triggered the oil pressure blink indicating temporary pressure loss I'm really not that hopeful on it being useful without a rebuild.
Just crossed 162500 miles, fucking shame it might not make it to at least 163600 since I bought it around 103600. Really shows why you can't just trust low mile cars, it might have made it to around 200000 without my harsh treatment but then it would have probably grenaded.
I'll have to check how much oil it ate tomorrow in 350 miles before jumping to conclusions though but oil smoke is oil smoke.

You've got more chill than me. It'd be hard to not slam a tire iron through her windshield. Soooooo awesome how seriously the news took it and how much press it got. Driving / riding wouldn't be so damn dangerous if it weren't for reckless uncaring fucks like her.
Wish there were more riders like you and less 95mph lanesplitters in California.

remove the black bit between the switch and the rest of the minus, knowing nothing about audio wiring and what they actually need that should work.
[editline]2nd January 2016[/editline]
having it there is just shorting the whole thing.
as psygo said, you cant mix up the minus on two audio channels, it will mess up
just go with one of the speaker cables
you do realize the specific MCI linked just uses a microphone, right
Why are the E36 headrests so fucking shitttt.

I got these, and there's no fucking way I can rest my head on them. Even if they are completely tilted so that they actually reach my head, they are just putting pressure on my neck.
I know they are there to prevent a whiplash, but it would be so damn comfortable to reast my head when driving.
Got the box build bike I've been working on for the past 2-2.5 years to start today.
I'm slightly deaf (ps don't accidentally rev a bike in an enclosed space) but also grinning like a shithead.
Installed the reverse manual valve body in the 727 for the duster. Dad said "if you like your ability to walk, dont do first gear burnouts"

Tomorrow is either shortening and redoing a beefier rear (8 3/4) or pulling the slant 6

Hoe much did you pay for those? These are extremely expensive around here if you want a pair in decent state
Oh sry thats just a google image. I have the same without the M stripe, so they are probably worth less, I paid 110$ for the pair.

I've never been able to properly rest my head on a headrest, at this point I've just accepted my faith.
Yeah, I can't use headrests, either. To do so my head is always tilted so far back that I'm looking down my nose at the road.
Only car I've rested my head in is the Toyota HiAce at work. Feels great to just.. sit upright with your head supported.
